TWENTY-SEVEN “What are your plans for the day?” Rachel asked. “I’m caught up on maintenance here, so I thought I’d spend the day at the B and B,” Joe said, taking a spoonful of cereal into his mouth. “Oh, good. Don’t forget to take a sandwich with you.” Rachel sat back and sipped coffee. It was too early for breakfast, as far as she was concerned. “How did last night go?” She turned her attention toward Angie. “Great,” she said, between bites of toast. Unlike her mother, Angie loved breakfast, especially peanut butter spread on toast. “This man can cook.” “You were going to have steak?” Joe asked. “Yes, and it was perfectly cooked,” she answered. “And no ketchup to be had.
