Second Chance Love

Chapter Two

The school day was over before I knew it. I headed to the car and waited for Cameron to come out so that we could head to training as it's a mandatory thing for children of ranked wolves. I always thought everyone should have at least some basic training so that way they could protect themselves during a rogue attack or just in general. Cameron walks out with his group of friends. He waves them bye and walks over to me.

" How is it going, sis", he says as we get in the car. " Good and ready to go to training," I reply, as i feel some energy that needs to be burned off. He nods his head in agreement and drives over to the house so we can walk to the training center that sits in the middle of our house and the pack house. We got there, and I headed to the locker room to change.

I changed into a sports bra and some pants. I headed to the middle of the arena when I saw Kyle standing next to my dad. Kyle is the Alphas' son and the future alpha of our pack. He's also my brother's best friend and my crush. I am really hoping he's my mate. I slowly walked up to my dad and Kyle. " Hey, muffin, how was school?' Dad says as I arrived near them. " Hi dad and Kyle, it was good" I replied. " Hey Lena, Where's cam?" Says Kyle as he searches for him. I shrug in reply, starting to stretch.

Dad then announces the teams, and we go and start sparing. The girl I am paired with is about my height of 5' 1. We both get into position and start to spar. I watch as she goes first to throw a punch. I stepped to the side and she missed my face. I sweep my foot under her legs and she falls. She gets back up and tries again, but this time I anticipate it and block her punch and throw a punch at her jaw. We continue going until she concedes.

Kyles POV

I am standing on the sidelines talking to Warrior Blake talking about some strategies that could work to take down an opponent. He is a good warrior and a good teacher. I take what he says in stride. I'm not really paying attention all too much. I noticed that Selena was the first one out of the locker room and was headed towards us. She is a pretty she-wolf, not too much my type. I take in her features, her long brown hair up in a ponytail and curves in just the right places. She is a petite wolf compared to my 6-foot frame.

I ask her where her brother, my best friend is, and she just shrugs. I looked around and nodded my head as I excused myself to go search for him. As I was walking towards the other side of the arena, I spotted him with a group of she-wolves. I go over and greet them. We stand there talking for a while until the fighting is supposed to start. The females go first, then the males. The first fights start, and I am not too impressed and actually quite bored. The next fight got my attention.

Selenas

Selenas fight is swift and calculated. She is fast to observe and react in a way that is smooth. Her fighting style impresses me and she comes out the winner. I give a little clap and get ready to start our round of fights.

I get paired with Cameron, and we go several rounds until I come out victorious. However, we are both bleeding and get sent to go get cleaned up.

I shake hands with Cameron as he promises that he will beat me the next time. I just laughed and told him we would see.

Selenas POV

The fights went fast, but what went even faster was the rest of the week. Between school, homework and training, I did not get a chance to do much with friends, but the one big day is coming up pretty fast and I cannot wait.

It is now Thursday night and I am looking through my closet trying to find a good dress to wear to the party tomorrow and I cant seem to find a dress that would fit the vibe I want. I groan and go out to grab my phone and pull up a conversation with Kasey.

S: Hey, I know its last minute but would you want to go to the mall with me?

K: Hey!!! Sure always down for the mall!

K: why whats up?

S: Well I need a dress for my birthday party tomorrow night.

S: plus I only have a few and not the vibes Im thinking of

K: Dress Shopping!!! YESSSS!

K I will be there in 10!

I laughed as I put down the phone and grabbed my purse, making sure i got everything. I go downstairs and find mom in the kitchen cooking dinner.

"Mom, can i go out with Kase for a bit? I need a dress for my birthday tomorrow?" I asked, sitting at the counter with a smile. " Sure Baby, I don't see why not. Just don't be out too late. I am making dinner tonight." She replied as she was stirring the sauce. I hear the car honk from outside and say "I should only be there an hour, maybe two. I love you." I walked out the door and got in Kasey's car. I personally detest going to malls. I prefer to shop online, but Kasey loves it. She drives to the Mall chatting up a storm about how excited she is.

Once there, we went to three stores, not finding the dress I was hoping to find. We see one last store and head in. Searching through the clothes we find 4 different options that could work. I headed to the changing rooms to try them on. The first dress is a form-fitting red dress with a V-neck that goes down to the floor. I went out and showed Kasey and then went back to try on the second one. The second dress is a floor-length mermaid dress with a sweetheart neckline that is black and white. I decided not to show Kasey this one and try on the third. The third dress is a knee-length purple dress that has off the shoulder straps. Kasey and I agreed that it's pretty but not the one. I go back and try on the last dress. The last dress is a sparkly aquamarine ballgown that is strapless.

I went out to show Kasey, and she gasped and said that was the one. I wholeheartedly agree with her. I changed back into my clothes and paid for the dress, and we went on the way home. Once home, I put the dress upstairs, deciding that they would all see it tomorrow night. I headed back downstairs and ate with everyone. It was a pretty quiet evening. Not much conversation happened. After dinner, I helped clean up and then went upstairs to go to bed. I climb into bed and go to sleep.
