Ayden always knew that she wasn't normal. It was impossible. She was the impossible. She always ran a slight fever, 101, or something close to that. As she grew older, the fever grew progressively more. She felt fine, but nobody else understood why a 17-year-old has such a high fever and was still fine. Ayden didn't quite understand it either.
Her foster-parents died in a house fire when she was 4. And was in and out of foster care ever since. Everyone else in their apartment complex had died, expect Ayden and her 4-year-old neighbor, Millie. The cause of the fire was unknown, but Ayden had a temper tantrum an hour before the fire supposedly started.
Millie and Ayden were placed in foster care together and went on to get adopted by families that lived next to each other. Her and Dennie have been friends ever since.
The night of Ayden's 18th birthday, she felt really weird. She went to the bathroom to calm herself down, when she sneezed. She sneezed and a unlight candle magically light. Nobody else was in the bathroom, of course, Millie knocked on the bathroom door and asked "Is everything alright?"
"I don't really know." Ayden answered honestly.
