Things moved fast once I made the decision to attempt to stop Cain. We provided aid to those packs he had ambushed. The sheer violence the people had experienced at his hands was appalling.
Women and children were not off limits to him. It was an unspoken rule in our world, you don't harm the innocent. The counsel was notified and more aid was sent to those affected. We were told Cain would be dealt with but we were left in the dark on what that meant.
Things seemed to lighten in the pack after that. The people trusted me more. Silas and Theo trusted me more. I even had, dare I say, enjoyable time with Silas. He was easy to like and he seemed to be respecting my boundaries with Grace.
