Chapter 30: Puzzle
Damian was hopeful that Ridge would climb out of the hotel bed and examine Damian’s sketch. Damian believed they should make the drive to Pier 19, which was a famous restaurant in Erie, next to the lake. He had yet to comprehend what Sheppner meant, but maybe Ridge knew. Perhaps the three areas—Sheppner, Pier 19, and Lucinda 3—would lead the two of them to the exact place where the next murder would be carried out. If both of them could prevent the Highwayman from killing again, Damian was willing to give it a shot and find the center of the three areas. Maybe if Ridge and he showed up at the crime scene before the murder took place they could nail the serial killer once and for all, and prevent the Highwayman from murdering again.
