"Dad's at it again," Josh sighed and ran his fingers through his hair.
"Why can't we be a normal, happy family?" I asked Josh as my eyes begin to water.
"Cause dad just had to cheat on mom. Really, who knows what he was thinking that day," Josh replied, taking a deep breath. "Anyway, Have fun in school."
Josh kissed my forehead, before waving goodbye.
He's going to cut school again. My brother sucks at acting and hiding things, so trust me when I say I would always know when he's planning something.
I sighed and walked out of the door. How do I discipline Scott now? I better not get my hopes up high. Many teachers has tried, really.
I don't know anymore. How am I suppose to deal with Cindy?
She's going to start screaming at me and making me the center of attention. Please no.
I gotta start revising. I just got an A- on my last test and I'm not letting it go. That was the first minus I've ever gotten in my whole school years.
I tapped my foot impatiently as I waited for the bus. I had a lot to deal with and I knew that my responsibilities as a student council and a daughter will never escape me.

“X equals to Y. So Y has to be 96," I mumbled.
I groaned in frustration. Oh my gosh, the class. They just decided to become zoo animals today. Of all days.
Scott put his books on the table, making me raise an eyebrow.
"Oh? You're early today," I commented.
"Well, of course. I decided to be good," Scott said, shrugging. "Nah, just kidding. I just needed your help, that's all."
"My help?" I inquired, looking at him.
"Yes, your help. Don't make me repeat. I need your help in physics. If I fail another test..." Scott sighed, taking a deep breath. "Just help me?"
"What's the P word?" I asked him, grinning.
"Peanuts?"
"Try again."
"Don't make me do this." Scott said, squinting his eyes.
"No, Scott. Don't make me do this." I repeated, waving my perfect A+ physics paper in front of his face.
Scott sighed, giving in. He looked at the ceiling, trying to find the perfect words.
"Oh, student counsellor Arielle Reese. Will you pretty please help teach me physics?" Scott said, shrugging.
"Oh, my gosh. Yes, yes." I said through laughters, wiping a tear from my eyes.
"Stop it," Scott said through gritted teeth. "I'll come to your place?"
"What?! No. Not my house." I replied, panicking a little.
"Why not? He asked, raising an eyebrow.
"It's-" my family, was what I wanted to say. But since I don't want anyone, especially Scott, to know, I just replaced it. "My cat."
See how much of a genius I am?
"Your.. Cat?" He asked, c*****g his head to the left.
"Yes, he gets scratchy sometimes," I replied, pursing my lips.
"Okay then. After school. My place."
He bought it. He actually bought it.
"Why're you revising for?" Scott asked, looking at my book.
"Algebra. I got an A- for the first time, I'm not letting it go."
Scott shot me a blank look, then facepalmed.
He was about to walk away, but I stopped him.
"Don't tell anyone about yesterday, please." I whispered to Scott.
"You mean, our kiss?" He whispered back, but rather loudly.
"Shh! And yes, about that. I'll get kicked out of the student council." I hissed, making Scott raise both his hands.
"Okay there, princess. You're a real daddy's girl aren't you?" He snickered, shaking his head.
I didn't answer that. Anything that includes 'mom's or 'dad's instantly becomes sensitive to me.
"If I were a daddy's girl, he wouldn't have cheated for the sake of me," I muttered under my breath.
I looked around, hoping that no one heard that.
Well, at least Scott has done something good. Two things, actually. One was being early and another was trying to get good grades. I'm so proud of him.
Now let's hope that he won't spread the fact that we kissed.

"...And that's what happens when you mix both chemicals," The teacher explained, before the bell rang. "All right. Class dismissed."
"Was anyone even listening?" Scott asked lazily, stretching.
"I was, is that counted?" I asked, packing my stuff.
Scott shrugged, then lead me to his car.
"Buckle up, I don't want your highness to get hurt." Scott teased, watching me as I enter the car.
"Why, thank you," I replied, bowing down.
Scott chuckled, turning on the engine then finally driving away.
"If some miracle happens and you get an A because of me, what will I get?" I asked Scott, turning to him.
"One night with me," Scott replied.
"Ew, no."
"One week?"
"Stop it." I demanded, glaring at him.
"I could teach you how to fight," Scott replied, turning the wheel.
"Why do I need to.."
"To protect yourself? People like you are so easy to bully."
I gaped, looking at him. "What do you mean 'people like me'?" I asked, glaring at him even more.
"I mean, people like you. You know, innocent ones. The oh such a daddy's girl," Scott replied.
I flinched at the word 'daddy'. All I could think of was my mom crying and all the lipstick stains all over dad.
I didn't reply to him, but looked out of the window.
We were silent throughout. It was one heck of an awkward silence but it died down when we reached pearly, white gates.
"Here we are," Scott announced, tapping the steering wheel.
I got out of the car and stared at the beautiful scenery in front of me. His house, oh my gosh. Is this for real?
It stands on its own confidently, with bushes and flowers surrounding it. The white paint covering the house looks so new and so bright. Like mine, it had two storeys, but this house was way bigger.
"You coming?" Scott asked, walking inside his house.
I followed behind, still awed at his home. "I didn't know you were so rich?"
"Well, now you do. Come on."
As I walked through the front door, Victoria secrets perfume hit my nose, and jewelries were laid around like they were dust particles. The floor glistens and the walls were a perfectly unstained pearly white.
"Welcome, Scott." A woman greeted us, bowing down.
"Mae, can you help cook for us?" Scott asked, handing the woman his jacket.
"Of course, I actually just finished making lunch." She replied, hooking his jacket up and walked towards the kitchen.
"Now," Scott announced, clapping his hands. "Let's go to my room."
He led me up the stairs, and we reached a blue door.
He opened it, welcoming me inside.
His smell was everywhere. The bed were striped blue and white, with a TV in front of it and an Xbox 360 below it. Beside his bed was a bedside table, where his lamp is placed. His walls were creamy white, and his floor was wooden. There's one shelf at the corner where all his football trophies were placed, all showing off the '1st' or '2nd' sign.
"Hey," Scott called out, bringing me back to reality. "Physics. Hurry."
I sat on a plastic chair, with him across me. I cleared my throat, opening my textbook.
"Let's start on the basics."

Scott groaned, looking at the ceiling.
"Scott! We've only been studying for 45 minutes. Come on!" I scolded, putting my hands on my hips.
"We should've learnt biology," Scott said, his eyes making their way to my chest. "We'd have a reason to do some dirty stuff then."
"Stop it!" I shouted, smacking his head. "Hurry do this assignment!"
"But I could do you instead," he winked, then chuckled.
"I'm not getting paid enough for this job..." I grumbled, sighing. "Who am I kidding. I'm not even getting paid."
"Why're you so obsessed in keeping your good girl image?" Scott asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I'm not, I've just always been this way," I explained, shrugging.
He tried to find my face beneath all of that hair and looking down and when he finally did, he smiled.
"And what if I change all that?" He whispered, his minty breath fanning my face.
"That's weird, cause I'm the one trying to change you for the better," I retorted, smirking.
"Well then." He said, grinning. "Let's see who will change who now, won't we?"
"Indeed," I agreed, smiling.
