"And because of that, you'll receive in school suspension." I informed Scott, watching him as he slammed shut his locker.
“Suspension? Is that all?" Scott asked, leaning against his locker door.
"Really? You want more?"
"Sounds like heaven. I get to not see the teachers for one and a half day. Hey, Noah! Come here!" Scott walked over to Noah and both of them went off.
I sighed, walking towards my locker. Today started off bad. Gee, I wonder how the next classes will be.
"Trouble in paradise?" Jenna asked, shooting me a pitiful look.
"Skating on melted ice," I replied, closing my locker door. "When is Scott ever going to be good?"
"When 7-11 closes."
"Then that'll be a long time," I grunted.
"Do you like Scott?" Jenna asked, making me jump a little.
"What?"
"You talk about him almost everyday. I just thought that-"
"No. No, I don't like him. Not even as a friend," I insisted, hesitating a little. "No."
"Well, good luck for next week's physics test. I have to meet a teacher. Ugh." Jenna informed. "I won't be in class for the first three periods. Goodbye."
Jenna didn't even had the chance to walk away before an annoying voice was heard.
"I thought I told you to stay away from Scott," Cindy remarked, flipping her (I'll have to admit) perfectly blonde curls.
"Actually, you didn't say that at all." I retorted, staring at her electric blue eyes.
"Well, now I'm saying it. Stop trying to hog Scott."
"Isn't sad how you have to warn her to get away from Scott, but she has no trouble at all getting him with the palms of her hand?" Jenna said, backing me up.
I sent a grateful grin at her, and I got a glare from Cindy and her best friend, Tia Millers.
“You know, you really piss me off.” Cindy says.
“Really? Cause that’s been my goal the whole time,” Jenna remarked.
"You do realize I can tell the teachers any of this, right?" Cindy threatened, stepping in front of Tia.
Tia coughed, twisting her curly dark brown hair, her dark brown eyes staring at me.
"Tell them what? That SHE made such a good comeback even you don't know how to reply?" I retort, and that left Cindy gaping.
"I'm telling my followers about this," Cindy hissed, dragging Tia's hand along.
"That was impressive," Jenna acknowledged, grinning.
"Thank you," I bowed. "Now, go see that teacher of yours."
###
"Do something about that crazy ex girlfriend of yours," I demanded, turning to Scott.
"I've tried. All she wants to do is to get back together, that's all."
"Why'd you both broke up?"
"She's.." Scott hesitated for a while, before continuing. "The last time we broke up was because she started seeing another guy? She thinks she's just too good for me."
"She expects you to get back with her? Even after cheating?"
"Yeah, I guess."
"But that's-"
"Scott Benson!" The teacher shouted, caning the teacher's table with a ruler. "What is the answer for question twenty eight?"
"s**t," Scott cussed, looking down at his paper.
"X minus 6y over 2a square," I whispered to him, looking down.
"What?"
"X minus 6y over 2a square," I repeated, louder this time.
"How do I know I can trust you?"
"Cause I'm the smart one. Hurry answer."
"How do I know you're not trying to troll me?"
"Cause that's the right answer. X minus 6y over 2a square, hurry up."
"I'm waiting!" The teacher announced, sending a death glare to Scott.
"X minus 6y over 2a square?" Scott shouted, but it sounded more like a question.
"That's.." The teacher turned back to the white board, he opened his mouth to speak but closed them back. He had a really shocked expression on his face. "Correct."
"Arielle! Did you give him the answer?" The teacher bellowed, his grey eyes staring right at my dark, brown ones.
Well, I'm a very honest person. I don't lie unless it's necessary to do so. I've never been shouted at in my life, mind you.
So I just sat there, doing nothing. I just had to stoned out. Great job, Arielle. What was I suppose to say?
"No, she just taught me how to do it," Scott suddenly said, making me face him.
"Okay, then." The teacher said, his voice now more calm. He picked his marker up, turning to the board. "So.."
"You didn't have to do that," I muttered, copying all the things the teacher were writing.
"Yes, I do." Scott replied, spinning his pen. "If not, you'd stone there like the Statue of Liberty."
"Thanks.. I guess."
"But now that I've helped you, you must do something for me in return." Scott smirked, spinning his pen faster.
"I'm not going to be your s*x slave," I warned him.
"No, but you did gave me an idea." Scott snickered, making me scowl. "You're going to be honest on all the questions I'll ask."
I raised an eyebrow, but Scott continued anyway.
"What's with your family?"
I flinched a little at that question, then turned my head to face him.
"What?"
"Your dad's cheating on your mom, and your brother do drugs.
You don't have to act like you don't know, cause I heard both your parents arguing. There was a strong smell of m*******a. It could've been from your parents, but they're all the way downstairs. The smell is pretty near.
I knew that it had to be either you, your brother or sister. And well, since you're so.. Ugh, and your sister's so young, it's obvious that it has to be your brother."
"Really? You can conclude all that but you can barely pass English?" I asked, sending him a face.
"Arielle."
"Fine.." I groaned, biting my lip. Should I tell him? I have a lot of trust issues. Taking a deep breath and keeping my fingers crossed that he won't tell, I started explaining.
"So, there was this day.. Tuesday, I think? All I remembered was that it was a public holiday. Anyways, My dad called up and told my mom that he will be home late. His shift end at 7, yet he came home at around 1.
He smell of Chanel perfume, and my mom thought that something was suspicious. She rummaged through my dad's work bag and found a condom. It wasn't enough to prove that he cheated. My mom then found his texts with his co worker, and so the problem escalated there.
My father deny it at first, but after some time he got frustrated and confessed everything. My mom knew that the best thing to do is to divorce, but sadly, she isn't strong enough to go on without my dad.
They started fighting more and more each day. Josh, he's my brother by the way, tried to help them many times.. But the fighting a won't stop. Since then, he would start smoking and doing drugs. He also had anger issues from then on, and his grades dropped."
I took a deep breath. Never had I thought that I'd actually reveal the full story to anyone, especially Scott Benson.
I bit my lip, waiting for his reply.
"That's a great script! Well done, Arielle!" Scott said, grinning.
Script? What? Does he think all this was a joke? That I'm not meant to be taken seriously? I was about to open my mouth to scold, but Scott jerked his head in front.
The people in front were hearing us? Oh god.
"You're directing a movie?" The girl sitting in front of me turned, facing me. Her partner did the same.
"Yeah.. Was that good?" I asked, biting my lip.
"Good? That was awesome!" She grinned, exposing her braces. "Just to be clear, your family isn't anything like that, are they?"
"No, no." I denied, giving an awkward chuckle. "It's- It's just for the movie."
"You'll do great," They said, before turning in front.
Scott slid a paper onto my table. I raised an eyebrow, picking it up and read it.
'Your parents are outside, right?'
I looked over at Scott, who's currently looking at the teacher.
'Yes, how'd you know?' I wrote back, then slid it to him.
'I have ears.'
I squinted my eyes at him, but he continued writing.
'Where do you think they'd run off to?'
'I don't know? A meeting, maybe?'
'I have a feeling something bad will happen.'
I looked over at Scott, and he nodded.
I have a feeling something bad would happen too.
