The Encounter

It was Brendan.He was looking tall, handsome and well dressed.Stephanie turned and looked at him.She saw sincerity in his eyes but Brendan saw pain in Stephanie's eyes.

"Nothing,it's none of your business"she closed her eyes as she was talking.

The pain of betrayal has made her not believe everyone is evil.Brendan walked to her front and said

"Don't hide your sad feelings,I am here to help you".

Stephanie looked at him again and saw sincere concern on his face.She finally opened up.

"I...I was betrayed by James who was having an affair with my step sister"she rubbed her hands on her head in pain.

She continued"my step sister stole my home and my boyfriend"

"Sometimes the people we trust can betray us"Brendan spoke.

"My step sister killed my son and took my james away after I have changed his bad characters".

"Steph,I am here for you,don't cry.You have to be strong"brendan spoke.

Stephanie continued"when James was almost at the point of death I stood by him for three years.but he Betrayed me"

"You are strong woman.I am sorry for what happened"Brendan's face was full of compassion as he continued "I was once in a relationship with a woman named Laurent Sharon.

Stephanie's eye widened in shock"what?,you mean you dated Sharon my step sister?".

"Yes,I loved her so much.But her mom Juliet was a thief".brenden's chest tightened in pain as he remembered his past.

Stephanie gazed at him "and what happened".

"Sharon and Juliet were stealing from me after when I employed Sharon"Brenden spoke.

"That's very bad of Sharon."

"Sharon stole some of my original documents of my estates 300 million dollars and soled them"his eyes became heavy in pain.

Stephanie saw the pain in his eyes and said"I am so sorry for what she have done to you"

"She broke my heart because she used the money to take care of another man named Alex"Alexander Brendan replied.

"Did you know that sharon is a sister to Melinda and they are both step sisters?".her eyes was fixed on him in determination.

"I can't believe this,so you mean I dated the sister of the person who betrayed you"his eye brow furrowed.

"Yes,that home is evil"her eyes carried revenge.

"Then I will make sure that family pays for everything they have done".his cheek tightened.

"I will also take back the house that is originally mine. "Stephanie spoke as a flicker of relief spread across her face.

"Since we have the same mission then I will help you with yours too"Brendan spoke.

Stephanie gazed at him and said"thanks.I will be going now"her smile,cheek and eyes carried charm.

As she was about going Brenden said"Stephanie, come,I want to say something "His face carrying purpose.His eyes were filled with love.

Stephanie turned and asked said"what is it "

"I...I think I am falling in love with you "his eyes darkened as he reached for her hands.

Waves of shock ran down her spine as her eyes widened.she paused for 5 seconds staring at the handsomeness of Brendan.She wished she would date him but her pain from her past betrayed her.

"No,I am not In the mood for that"she spoke calmly so that she won't hurt him.

"Look Steph,I have never seen a woman like you.i saw the way were so faithful James "

Stephanie's heart softened"thank you"

"A beautiful woman like you deserve the best and I can take care of you".James spoke.

Stephanie took a deep breath and said"Alright but we are going to take it slowly because I am still recovering from my past "

"Thank you,I promise never to betray you".He reached for her hands and held it tightly.

Brendan's words pressed softly on Stephanie's chest as she became a bit relieved of her pains. This made her to smile a little.

That night Brenden and Stephanie exchanged numbers and Brendan took Stephanie home.

When Stephanie got home a call came into her phone from her friend Anita.Stephanie deeped her hands into her hand bag and answered the call.

"Good evening Anita,you need to do something fast now"her voice was tensed as she was filled with panick.

"What is it,tell me what happened?"Stephanie asked in worry.

"They have taken over your company.Melinda, James, Juliet hale and Matthew have taken your position "Anita spoke as her voice was unusual.

"I don't understand what is happening,is this a dream or what?"Stephanie furrowed her eye brows in frustration,hurt and depression.

"What is happening is real,your company have been taken over the took the documents of ownership"

"What?,this is evil.i am coming to the company to take back my place"

"Please don't come,there are guards stationed everywhere in the company.

Stephanie's heart thighten in pain.

"Most of the employees want to leave.i am also leaving."Anita replied.

"No don't leave,i want you to stay there and help me watch what is happening in the company"step replied".

After the phone call Stephanie looked so sad and depressed as her world kept collapsing everyday.It was her friend who she was living with that consoled her.

By next morning Brendan called her on the phone.She picked anf she heard Brendan's warm and charming voice.

"How are you darling,I dreamt you last night".Brendan smiled at the other side of the phone.

"I am fine.i was thinking about you throughout the night"she chuckled as her eyes darkened.

"Alright,I want you to come to my company today.I want to discuss something with you"Brendan spoke.

"I will come to your company"Steph answered, before she ended the call Brendan said.

"Stephanie,there is something I need to tell you.but I need your trust"

"What is it?"

Stephanie was already tensed a bit because she was thinking if it is something that has to do the problem of his past or ex girlfriend or something dangerous.

"promise me you will not abandon me if I tell you"Brendan replied.

"Brendan,I promise I will not abandon you"she asked.

Brendan paused for a second and said"are you sure?"

"I gave you my word,I will never leave you .tell me what is it"Stephanie replied as her eyes narrowed in sincerity.She was actually so tensed as her hands were trembling in panick.

Brenden kept mute for another one second because he was afraid of the outcome of he tells her.

"Brendan tell me what is it"Stephanie spoke as she continued to feel an unbearable tension as she is expecting to hear something that can devastate her.
