Five| Sucked In

EMILY I knocked a bit hard on Jennifer's door. I had to talk to her. I had to get away from my mother and come up with a friend to present to Noah. I shouldn't have lied but, ugh! I did. The door opened after a moment and I was faced with Marcus. My cheeks flames red without a doubt at the sight of his shirtless upper body. I took note of the sweat beads that slid down the sides of his face and chest that gave off a slick appearance. I cleared my throat and looked up into his beautiful brown eyes. "H-Hey, Marcus. Is Jennifer home." He smiles at me while shaking his head no. "Jennifer and Diego took the kids to the park." I sighed. "Do you know when they'll be back?" "Not sure but if you want to wait on them you can come in." He moved aside. I know I should just come back later but, I would have nowhere to go. My mother will continue her random pop ups at my house and at my job. I sighed, making the decision to just wait. I walked past Marcus, almost grazing his sweaty body and made my way to the living room. "Want a drink?" He asked from behind me. I turned back to him with a smile. "Yes, please." I took a spot on the soft sofa and waited for my drink. A few minutes later he walked in with scotch glasses and a bottle of whiskey. I frowned at the sight and looked back up to him. "What?" He questioned as if nothing was wrong with what he brought out here. "It's a bit early to drink." I say. He spares a smile and shrugs. "It's only one in the afternoon." I chuckled. "It's still early but I need this anyway. My mother is driving me insane." "With?" He questions, opening the whiskey and pouring some in our glasses. "Planning the wedding." I sighed and reached out for the glass and drank it fast. I was tired, stressed, and in need of a drink. I was getting one to relax my mind. He hums and takes a seat on the other end of the sofa I was on and takes his glass. "Stressing, huh?" He murmurs against the glass. I exhaled another breath, looking off in front of me. "Yes, and honestly, I don't know how much more I can take with the freaking cameras in my face. Yes, I understand I'm engaged to a celebrity but geesh. Camera people don't know a thing about personal space." "Have you ever tried to get away? Retreat?" He questioned, taking a sip of his whiskey. I looked at him in wonder. "Retreat? As in leaving off somewhere?" He nods. I looked down at my fingers. "No. Noah says it's too much happening with him and his movie deal. He wants me where I am." "What a joke." My eyes lifted back to his and I saw the sudden irritation. "Excuse me?" He sighed. "Nothing." He murmurs. No, he made me curious. I drank all of my whiskey before pouring one more glass. "It's not just nothing, Marcus. It's clear you want to say something. Speak your mind." He stared—really stares. He then drinks all his whiskey and places the glass down and shifts his body to face me entirely. "You shouldn't get married." He says. I looked at him in shock before placing my glass down to face him completely. "And why do you think I shouldn't?" "He's not right for you." "How do you know? You haven't even met him." He went quiet but his eyes remained on me and I continued. "What if it's not him and it's me." He shook his head and his eyes glazed over. "Never you. You're perfect in my eyes." At this, he made the confession I hoped he would never have said. A confession that would make me question a lot of things. "We've been over this a while ago, Marcus. Things have changed and we both need to move on. I have. Why can't you?" I asked calmly. Marcus suddenly moved closer to me, reaching out and grabbing hold of my hands. "I can't stop thinking about you." I went to pull my hands away but he wouldn't let go. "Marcus..." "I'm trying, Em. I still am but every time I see you, I want you." My heart pounded in my chest while his words hit me hard. I closed my eyes hoping he'd stop but I was wrongly mistaken. He scooted closer and the next thing I knew, I was pulled on top of him. I was straddling him and his lips captured mine in surprise. A muffled shock noise came from me as his lips came in contact with mine. Oh, no. I felt his tongue graze my lips and I refused to open my mouth. This was wrong. So wrong. My arms were on his chest and just when I went to pull away, one of his hands, fingers went through my hair pulled at it. He pulled from my lips just an inch, inhaling while staring at me with tempting eyes. Oh, he's sucking me in. "You're mine, Em." I shook my head, disagreeing and went to get off him when his other hand rested on my lower back, pushing me closer to him. "Let go of me, Marcus. This is wrong." "Does it feel wrong?" I couldn't find the words to speak as he stared at me, waiting for my answer. I looked at his lips and back to his eyes. "I-I'm engaged, Marcus." "Then why aren't you trying harder to push me away?" I couldn't answer it either. Something was wrong with me. I allowed him to kiss me and I didn't even put my all into it. I sighed. "Marcus—" He cut me off by pulling my head down and kissed me. He went all in and I couldn't help but be sucked in. He was tempted and I fell into his trap of need. I grabbed at his muscular biceps and found myself enjoying the feeling of his lips. He didn't hesitate to slide his tongue past my opened lips and explore me as he once had before. I mentally cringed at the needy moan that slipped past my lips. That didn't stop him. We were so wrapped up in our kiss that I barely heard the door opening. I moaned, breaking the kiss and quickly getting off him. I fixed my hair and Marcus stared up at me with an intense look. Honestly, he was sexy and it was like he wanted to draw me in again. Clearing my throat, I wiped at my lips and hoped they didn't look too swollen. Oh, who am I kidding. They were swollen. Marcus was an amazing kisser. "Emily?" Jennifer's voice broke through my thoughts. I smiled when I saw her with baby Dom on her chest in that baby carrier. When Diego entered, he was holding a sleeping Destiny. "Hey Emily." He waved and I smiled, waving back. "Hey Diego." He disappeared down a hall and I knew he was going to lay Destiny down. She always loved the parks on weekends and when she goes, she has her fun. Always needs a nap at the end though. "So, what are you doing here?" Jennifer questioned as she stared back and forth between Marcus and I. "U-Uh, I wanted to talk to you about my difficult mother but I'll just call you later." Jennifer frowns when I gather my things. "Are you sure? I can set Dom down for a nap and tell Marcus to leave somewhere." Marcus smiled at his sister who was willing to put him out just to have a conversation with me. "No, it's alright." I shook my head. "I'll call you." Before Jennifer could say anything, Marcus stood and motioned to the door. "I'll walk you out." I agreed so everything could look normal. I opened the door and went to close it behind me when a strong hand rested on my waist, stopping me from leaving. I turned to face Marcus and he was pure temptation. He was making moving on so hard. Our kiss should have never happened. It was a mistake and I officially cheated on Noah. I reached and took his hand from my waist. "This was a mistake, Marcus." I kept my voice low. He stared down at me. "It wasn't for me, Em. I tried letting you go and I did once but I'm not doing it again." I inhaled sharply, staring at him in disbelief. "Marcus, it can't happen. I'm engaged." A flash of irritation crossed his face. "Not for long." I frowned slightly at his words. "What is that supposed to mean?" "Nothing you don't already know. I'll leave you be for now but don't think I won't try anything to have you." He reached out, grasping my face and stroked it with his thumbs. "You're mine, Emily and I, yours." He says against my lips, not caring who sees and he pecked my lips quickly. "Drive safe, baby." He pulls away. He waits to see me leave and I do but not after staring at him for a long moment. I felt confused and my emotions were all over the place. What did I do?
