9 “Hello,” Kate was greeted by tantalizing aromas of dinner simmering. “We’re in the sun room!” Ellie shouted. Kate dropped her keys on the counter and stepped out of her flip-flops, leaving them by the back door. Walking into the cool depths of the house, she was reminded of her childhood. She would cuddle up with a mystery book, avoiding the midday heat until Abby would show up and drag her outside for a bike ride.
