Kate was happy to be driving down Main Street, soaking up the vibe in her hometown. Loudon would always be Kate’s safe haven but she was excited about the impending move to Crystal Lake. Although she had talked with her mother over the last few days, their conversations were about the shop and Luke. From all reports, he seemed to be fitting in, which helped Kate feel less anxious about breaking the news to the rest of her family.
Kate slipped in the back door and savored the sight and smell of the What’s Perkin’ kitchen. She slowly walked around the room, fingers trailing over the counters, wondering how she could re-create this space in a new location. Maybe Ray still had the plans from when he designed and built Mom’s kitchen. It was hard to believe it had been almost twenty years.
