As Chloe struggled with her insomnia problem, an important event was taking place in an abandoned mansion. The mansion was of an old model, its walls were worn as well as the floor, cobwebs, and dust-covered it everywhere and its only lighting was by oil lamps. A man dressed in a black suit climbed the stairs of the mansion, with each step he took you could hear the creaking of the wood that had been corroded by the gnawing of time. His face was hidden by a white fox mask that contrasted with his black hair, in the middle of the darkness, his mask seemed to contain the brightness of the moon. The man did not stop until he reached the top floor of the mansion, in which there was only a room with a black door. The man stopped in front of the door and knocked three times. — Go ahead. — answered a man's voice Upon receiving confirmation, he opened the door and entered the room. Once inside, she could see that in the room a middle-aged man was sitting in an armchair near a fireplace while he was reading a worn book. The man wore a white shirt along with brown shorts, as footwear, he wore black leather sandals. Lastly, his hair was white and his eyes were red as if they represented blood or hell. — Oh, you came back earlier than expected. — Said the middle-aged man when he saw the man with the fox mask enter. —- The White Fox appears before his Excellency Harold Hansen. — Said the masked man. They both looked at each other for a while, as if examining each other. You could feel the intensity in the environment. The masked man walked over to an unoccupied seat near the fireplace and sat down. — Mr. Hansen, today I made contact with the suspicious target that I had commented to you, confirm that it is a Gifters, as to if it is who we are looking for, I am not sure yet. — Said the masked man Harold Hansen looked at him with a strange look then he frowned and said. — What's wrong with you today boy? Did you smoke something strange before you came? Also, take off that mask, why do you have that thing in front of me? Take it off. — Said Harold Hansen ... — I put it on because the last time you told me that I was disrespecting you too much, to go back to my formalities... — The masked man answered with discomfort — I said that? Well, never mind, forget what I said before. — Said Harold Hansen ... The masked man removed his mask, revealing a young face and a pair of eyes that were like deep chasms, as dark as night itself. — That's much better Dorian, now tell me, how was it today with the girl? — Asked Harold Hansen — Today I met with her, I took with me a catalyst stone and this was the result. — Dorian said as he handed a stone to Hansen Hansen took it in his hands and examined it. The stone that was the size of a thumb and resembled amethyst, did not stop emitting a violet glow. — Without a doubt, the catalyst has been stimulated by a Gift but that still does not guarantee anything. — Hansen said Then he squeezed the catalyst, making them shine and its color disappears, making it look like ordinary white quartz. — The violet color only qualifies it to continue investigating it, even more, it is unknown if the Gift belongs to him or is being protected by someone else. — Hansen said — Of course, that is clear to me. Also, there was a stem present, but I'm sure the catalyst didn't react to it. — Dorian said — If you are sure of that there is no problem, could you see what Gift I use? — Asked Hansen — Could you see what Gift I use? — Hansen asked — I do not know, when the catalyst activated I could not see anything material, so it must have activated a mental or spiritual power, for now, we only know that it is using one of those two types. — Said Dorian Drum — I see, that sounds promising, as to whether he is who we are looking for and will lead us to our goal, it remains to be known. What will you do from now on? — Asked Hansen — If you came to me it is because you need a favor, if you wanted to tell me how it went with a call it would have been enough, go straight ahead and tell me what you want. — Hansen said — I need Maddox and Angela, I have already spoken with them and they have agreed to help me, we just await your approval. — Dorian said — Maddox? Are you sure it will help you? That boy is only good at killing people. — Said Harold Hansen — Precisely for that same reason I need it. — answered Dorian — Well, if that's what you want, Maddox is a good choice. I leave it in your hands, you will know how to use it to your advantage. — Hansen said — Thank you, his Excellency — Dorian answered — I told you to stop these stupid things, as soon as you discover what power the girl is using, don't forget to send me a message, now leave me alone, interrupt my reading. — Hansen said as he made a retreat signal to Dorian with his hand Dorian nodded and left the room. Harold Hansen looked at Dorian as he withdrew, leaving the room his mouth spread in a creepy smile as if he were a demon. The fire in the fireplace died down and the catalyst in his hand began to glow red, like a ruby. The brightness of it increased more and more, until cracks began to appear, until being unable to withstand the force received by the catalyst, it exploded into pieces. Looking at the remains that still held a bright crimson color in his hand, Harold Hansen said. — The needles of destiny have begun to move again, it seems that the time of a new war is approaching. I hope you are your Chloe Chatzi whom we have been looking for for so long, this body of mine still longs to be on a battlefield filled with the scent of blood. — Then, as if he was crazy he started to laugh by himself. Dorian Drum heard his malevolent laugh as he came down the stairs, he seemed to be used to it, as there was no change in his expression. Arriving on the ground floor he found two people, a blonde woman, and a man. They were Angela Ackerman and Maddox Mephisto. — So how was Dorian, what did the crazy old man tell you? — Asked Angela — He said was fine. — Dorian answered — Excellent, I knew it! Of all of us, you are the favorite of that old man, no matter what you ask of him, I am sure that he is not going to say no, so when do we start? — Angela said while she smiled — Soon, for now, we have something to do first. — Dorian answered calmly — What is he about? — Asked Angela — You'll find out when we get there. — Dorian answered as he walked towards the door Angela and Maddox followed him without saying a word. They both seemed to respect and know Dorian, especially in Angela's eyes there was a glint in her eyes that glowed when they saw him as if she were in love with her. Leaving the mansion they disappeared into the shadows of the night and the light of the moon towards their destination. Back at Chloe's apartment. Chloe was passed out from sleep in her bed, the television was on, showing episodes of a series without pause. Unable to sleep, she stayed watching television until she fell asleep, which had been successful since her sleep overcame him and she finally fell asleep. This is how Chloe slept peacefully, not caring that as she spilled her pillow with drool, the shadow of danger loomed over her behind the scenes.
