The Black Moon.

1281 Words
Alpha Samuel was in a raging mood. He has already destroyed half of his office, including some costly furniture. Not that he cared. The Black Moon Pack was one of the biggest and wealthiest packs in the South, so they were loaded with money. He could easily replace the damaged stuff. It wouldn't be the first time. Occasionally, he was doing minor refurbishing. That's what he liked to call it. But he couldn't replace one thing, Amelia. Yes, this girl belonged to him. She was his thing, as he liked to think about her. His property. On that day, his pack found her, covered in blood, a two-year-old girl, hiding behind the dead bodies of some wolves, maybe her parents. Who knows? He couldn't care less. It was his Luna, Tania, who made him consider taking this girl into their pack. She couldn't stand the sight of a little young girl surrounded by corpses. Tania was always soft-hearted, and that was her mistake. She was his mate so Samuel couldn't fight against her. He couldn't say no to her. That was how this little bi*ch crawled into their family. Tania adored her from the first moment. She even gave a girl a name, Amelia. They took her to the orphanage in the pack so the omegas would care for her. But Tania was so drawn to this little girl she treated her as her daughter. Maybe because they still had no pups of their own. She always said Amelia was unique but fragile, like a wildflower. Alpha Samuel was okay with that. Seeing his mate happy also made him happy. Besides, he was always busy with the pack matters and the rouges that were coming too close to the borders for his liking. Soon, Amelia moved to the pack house and became a part of their family. Tania adored the silver-haired girl with huge blue eyes and vice versa. Amelia lived with them for three years, and even Big Alpha was happy to see her around. He became happier when his beloved mate told him she was expecting a child. Life couldn't be better. Till that day... Amelia and Tania had a habit of running in the woods every week while the little one was sitting atop his mate wolf. She loved that ride, just like Tania. It was their little celebration. That day, Alpha Samuel had this feeling that something was not right. The day before, his men spotted two groups of rouges wandering near the borders. -Please, my love, skip your run this week. It is not safe. You can go any other day. - He was almost begging. Something was off, and he like to have everything under control. - Oh, don't be silly, honey. We never cross our borders, and there are patrols everywhere. We will be fine, as always, and back in no time. - His mate tried calming him down, giving him a quick peck on his cheek. -It is such a beautiful day. I don't want to waste it. And soon I won't be able to do it. - She said, smiling and rubbing her belly. -OK, my love, but please be careful. And come back to me soon. - Again, the Alpha had to surrender to his mate. And it was the last time he saw his mate alive, with his baby whom he had never met. The rouges attacked them. His love died, trying to save Amelia, giving her time to hide. She took all the blushers with her but was so heavily wounded that when he came to the scene, she had already died. He didn't save her and had no chance to say goodbye. The only living person was Amelia, like on the day they found her, covered with the blood of his mate and his baby this time. That was the day when Alpha Samuel lost everything. His Luna, his love, his humanity. Everyone knows that when your mate dies, half of your soul is gone forever, just as half of your heart. And then some monsters are assumed. Alpha Samuel became one. That was all Amelia's fault. She was the reason for all his suffering. He regretted that day when his mate persuaded him to care for that girl. She was supposed to die amongst her family. He lost everything, and it was time for her to pay for his loss. She took everything from him. Deep inside, maybe he knew it was not her fault, but his family was dead. The girl was the only one to blame. He planned to turn her life into a nightmare until he would eventually end her life. He spent the following years making his plan come true, hurting, beating, and cutting her in all possible ways. But he didn't kill her. It was not enough. Alpha promised to make Amelia pay for every day he lived without his mate. He became a beast. Soulless, heartless beast. And he liked it. But now she was gone. The person responsible for his pain ran away. She was supposed to make breakfast for the whole pack, but she was not in the kitchen. His Beta went to look for her. She was not in the best shape the day before, after beating, so maybe she couldn't walk. He would make her walk. But she was not in her room and nowhere around. He informed Alpha about his discovery. They started looking for her immediately, but there was no success now. She disappeared three days ago. They lost her scent, and now Beta was facing his raging Alpha, telling him the bad news. - How could this happen? - He asked his Beta, Ryan, standing next to the door, looking at his Alpha. - We've lost her scent. The storm washed out all tracks. Even before, her scent was faint.- He said, looking at the floor. Ryan knew his Alpha too well to stay quiet and let him calm down, even if it meant damage to the whole packhouse. He knew what Alpa could do when he was mad. He saw his fury on Amelia's body too many times and wasn't ready to take her place. - Our best trackers will go after her as soon as they can.- Beta said slowly.- But because she doesn't have a wolf yet, it is hard to follow her scent. - I know that she doesn't have a wolf. So, please, how come you could lose someone who is not much above mere human? - Alpa's tone was calm, but his eyes shone red occasionally, and Ryan was sure it was the best time to take a leave. - I will send my trackers right away.- He said. - You better do it. The task is simple. COULD YOU BRING HER BACK? Or I will need a new Beta.- Alpa looked at his second in command, and the look was promising much to Ryan—many bad things. After Beta left his office, Alpha smashed the remaining stuff on his desk. - You will pay me for everything. You will be begging for a quick death. And I won't give it to you. On the training grounds, Beta Ryan was giving instructions to his trackers. -We must find and bring her back, or we will pay with our heads for failure. Tom, Hank, you will go West, where we caught her scent last time. Me and Jack will go East. Any sign of her, mind link me. Let the game begin. We must find her. Soon. The men nodded and left immediately. Ryan looked at the sky, and asked Moon Goddess for help. They would need it.
