Soft mumbling voices fell in my ears, drawing me back to consciousness. An inadvertent groan left my lips as I tried to move; my entire body hurt so much. It was as if someone had sucked out all my energy. The metallic taste of blood filled my mouth as I tried to swallow, a stinging reminder of the slap that had caused my lips to split. Groaning again, I cracked open my eyes and straightened my back. My eyes widened and my breath caught in my throat as my gaze landed on Tristan.
