“You knew everything right from the beginning, right?” I asked in a defeated voice. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
“Why did I not tell you what?” Carla’s eyebrows furrowed, and she shrugged. “I don’t know what you are referring to, Ayame.”
I swallowed the lump that had formed in my throat and forced myself to speak, “The reason why mom hates me so much….”
