Chapter 3 Created

1093 Words
Today you arrived early, Ron. Did you bring anything fun with you? Your hoarse voice is not pleasant to listen to. Of course, I have something interesting to show you. But how did the things I asked you to do last time turn out? Ron pulled out a cylindrical object and threw it to Thorsen. Thorsen took the cylindrical object and looked at it, unable to understand. “The things you wanted are all done, completely according to the drawings you provided. But first, tell me what this thing in my hand is for. The two crystals on top have used up their magical power.” Ron aimed the object at Thorsen’s eyes. “This is called a telescope. It can magnify distant objects and make them very clear.” Thorsen looked through the telescope. “It’s really a good thing, no, a magical thing! Ron, with your abilities, you should find an alchemist to be your master. You will definitely become a master yourself.” “I prefer magic,” Ron said as he took the things Thorsen had helped him make: two metal shafts, one end of each shaft had a gear, and the other end had a sliding bearing. He meshed the two gears together and turned them once, praising, “Very good. To be able to make such regular gears by hand, you truly deserve to be called a master craftsman, haha.” “Can I borrow the telescope for a few days?” Thorsen seemed to like the object. “It’s yours,” Ron’s voice was already outside the door. Behind the Wizard’s Guild, there was a small attic that had always been used as a warehouse for storing old magical materials. After Ron joined the guild, he cleared out the attic and arranged it. The top floor of this small attic became his nest, his personal little world. Against the wall, there was a desk with several books on it, one of which was open and the title could be seen: “Control and Manipulation of Magical Elements.” In the middle of the room, there was a large table piled with old crystals that had used up their magical power, old metal wires, wooden boxes, and some electronic components (taken from a dismantled portable music player). Excited, Ron returned to the house and began assembling things. He dismantled a large wooden box, installed the two shafts he had obtained from Thorsen, and then pulled out a crank from under the table. After connecting it, he vigorously turned the crank, and sparks began to appear between the two metal bars in front of the box. “Haha, two months of effort have not been in vain. Ron’s physics laboratory has produced a new invention, the hand-cranked generator!” Ron exclaimed proudly. “Now I can test my new theory. Can magical crystals store electrons?” Ron did not idle, taking out an old crystal and wedging it between the two metal bars, then vigorously shaking it until his hands were sore. He put on a glove and carefully picked up the crystal. By feeling it, he felt that this crystal was different from the other old crystals, and its color had changed a bit. But no matter how he fiddled with it, this crystal just wouldn’t release any charge. “What’s going on? According to reason, the crystal must have stored a charge, so why can’t it release it? Right, the crystal should have formed pure energy. Crystals have the function of sealing energy, just like a fire crystal. If no Qi is injected into it, the crystal will not release energy. But, is electrical energy the same as elemental energy? I don’t have Qi or magical power, so how can I inject energy into the crystal?” Ron pondered. “It should be that only by injecting different types of energy can the crystal release its energy. Otherwise, during the charging process with the generator, the crystal would have released its energy. Since they are both forms of energy, even without Qi or magical power, as long as there is another form of energy, it should be able to trigger the crystal, right?” Ron took out an old magic wand from the cabinet, embedded the crystal in it, then sawed the wand in half, leaving only a length of about one arm. He carved two grooves on the wand with a small knife, then inserted two metal wires into the grooves, connecting them to the crystal. He then dug a small hole and took out a battery and a switch from the dismantled music player, connected them, and placed them in the hole. A strange-looking magic wand was born. “Batteries can also emit energy, so as long as they can trigger the crystal, it will be a success!” Ron smiled. With a press of the switch, the crystal changed color noticeably, and a small lightning bolt rolled inside the crystal. However, the lightning bolt stubbornly refused to discharge. “Could it be that the voltage of a single battery is not enough to trigger the crystal?” Ron brought another battery and added it, but this time the experiment still failed. Although the crystal’s reaction was slightly stronger, it still did not release any charge. The voltage is still not enough, what should I do? “Right, a pulse! Why did I only think of this now?” Ron suddenly jumped up. When he was young, he had seen a simple device for electric fishing in his hometown, which was made of a battery and a simple pulse device, and could produce high voltage to stun fish. He found a long piece of metal wire, wound it into a coil, and then modified the switch. This way, it became a simple pulse device. This time, Ron’s experiment was successful! After pressing the switch, with a “c***k,” a lightning bolt shot out and burned off one of the chair legs in the house! “No way? This is too exaggerated!” Ron exclaimed, then once again aimed at the chair. This time, the electric shock completely shattered the chair and set it on fire. Excitedly looking at the strange magic wand in his hand, Ron thought, “How can it have such great power? The charge stored in the generator should not have such high voltage. Could it be that the crystal can change the stored charge?” Ron pondered, “I need to study this carefully in a few days.”
