Chapter 1
Snow's POV
The time is a few minutes after eight, its still pretty early but the moon is out and shinning brightly.
I am currently in my room, sitting in front of my dresser and starring at my reflection in the mirror attached to the dresser. Pondering different thoughts in my mind, all concerning what would be waiting for me outside.
While my mind was surfing in thoughts; Scarlett, my step sister walked into the room. "Every one is waiting for you to come down, and make a grand entrance. Afterall it's your birthday party going on down stairs" She muttered as she casually walked towards me.
I let out a sigh. "It's kinda bothering. I've had other birthdays before, but none of them has ever seemed to be this festive; l mean the work and effort put into it alone is something. Its making me to wonder..."
"What the special occasion is" she completed my sentence.
"Yeah" I said while nodding. "Don't you wonder the same thing" I asked.
"No! You are Snow Crescent, since when have anything about you been short of grand. If it were my birthday that was this eventful thats when you should suspect something sinister is up" Scarlett said then started dressing my hair.
"What are you talking about? Your birthdays are always grand and eventful" I said trying to make her not feel inferior or less important than me.
"Which world are you living in! No matter how my birthdays are, it is never planned to be better than yours. Perks of being a Delta I guess, I am always expected to be in the shadow of Snow Crescent; heir to the Alpha" she said with a hint of jealousy in her tone, but she tried to hide it with a well organized smile.
I thought for a while thinking of what to say. "...In maybe about five years from now when I get married to some so called Alpha heir, and become Luna; I am going to throw you the most grandiose party you can think of. That you are going to get so exhausted of parties. But you are going to have to wait a while because I don't intend on becoming Luna any time soon".
She didn't reply what I said or even give a reaction. "If I were you I would just go down and enjoy the party" she said after she was done with my hair.
"It's not like I can escape it". I let out a sigh, gave myself one last look in the mirror then stood up; prepared to finally go down.
Damien's POV
I am in front of a piano, which is set by the side of the lobby of my resort.
I'm putting on head phones, while playing intensely on the piano. My sole focus was entirely on the piano, and the tune it was giving off. I got completely lost in the melody that I couldn't hear anyone calling me, I didn't even notice if anyone else was in the room.
All of a sudden the head phones got yanked outta my head. "What the!..." I was saying then I turned around and saw Willow standing there. "If you wanted to talk to me, you could have just call me".
"You could've just called me" she imitated my voice in a mocking way; "Guess what I already tried that, Mr you could've just called me" she said still in a mocking way.
"I don't sound like that, I don't sound like that at all".
"Anyway, you won't believe who I've been talking too. Try to guess" she said frantically.
"Me; after all I'm the only one here".
"I'm not talking about who I'm speaking with now, stupid. I'm talking about... You know what, I'll just tell you. I've been talking to that real estate agent; Mr Jerry...".
I starred at the ceiling, trying to pretend as if I was trying to remember who he was. But I knew who he was. He has tried buying this resort from me countless of times.
"...Jerry, he's a good man, but don't you think that he's too old for you" I said teasingly.
"Jerk!" Willow muttered as she threw my head phone, which she took from me earlier, violently at me.
"Woah! Be careful with that okay, she's fragile" I said, referring to the head phone as a she. "Okay Will you tell me what you discuss with Mr Jerry. I can guess that it has to do with this resort; but I wanna hear you say it".
"He is willing to offer us a really good deal for this place. Way more than we have ever made from here in forever..." She was saying.
But I interrupted her; "Will look..."this time she's the one who did the interrupting.
"Wait okay, before you say any thing just think of all the things we could do with that much money" Willow starts pacing around, while day dreaming. "We could go on a cruise in a yatch, buy an insanely expensive car, and you would even have enough time on your hands to get a girlfriend". She said that last part amused.
"First of all, I can get a girlfriend any time if I wanted to. Second, those were all intriguing offers. Which! With time, are gonna fade, so I'm gonna take a pass on that offer".
"What is wrong with you? This is a chance of a life time and you're gonna let it slip through our fingers" she nagged, then gave a sigh.
"Look I get why you wanna sell this place; because some of the workers have quit, and we aren't getting much customers..."
"Not some of the workers have quit, all the workers have quit. And we have zero customers. This place is getting ruined into the ground; the only way to save it is by..." I was about to speak, "Don't interrupt me" Willow muttered, "...the only way to save it is by selling it" she concluded.
I waited a bit to be sure she was done speaking, before I spoke up. "This place has something that money can't buy" I said.
"And what's that?" She asked with one hand on her hips.
"Legacy, this place was moms legacy and now it's ours. You can't put a price tag on that" I said then she frowned, wore a disappointed look, and started walking away without saying a word.
But I held her hand to stop her from leaving. "Hey, come on Will; you know I hate seeing my younger sister sad. Okay look; this place is only scarse on customers because its winter. And no one wants to come to a resort when the atmosphere is all chilly. But I'll tell you what, give me from now to next spring, and if no one comes here by then. I promise you I'll sell this place".
"You promise?"
"Yeah I do" I said then she smiled again. "Now why don't you sit and listen to this tune that I've been playing and tell me what you think about it" I said and drew out a chair for her.
"You know I don't appreciate music the way you do. So I'm likely not gonna give you a fair judgement".
"Don't worry this tune is unique, so even some one like you who is tone deaf, would be able to appreciate it"
"Did you just call me tone deaf? Mr you could've just called me!" she said then I put my head phone back on.
"Sorry, did you say something?" I pretended not to hear her.
"Jerk!" She muttered. I chuckled, then started playing the piano. And it's melody filled the room.
Snow's POV
For some unknown reason, my heart was racing as I was slowly approaching outside. I stopped at door bridging me from all of the people anticipating my presence outside.
I took a deep breath in and out. Then I opened the door; "Wow!...
Snow pov
I took a deep breath in and out. Then I opened the door; "Wow!" A gasp escaped from my lips unconsciously.
This place looks wonderfully decorated. Lights were hung around the trees surrounding the area. Everyone were dressed in black outfits, except me; who was dressed in a white gown. And that made me to stand out more.
The moon was full and shinning brightly in the sky, through the clouds and that gave it a blue glow. Which reflected of the ice and snow that was on the floor. Every where was glittering and looked unreal.
When everyone saw me they bowed their heads, except my father. I bowed back, then made my way through them.
I saw Roland Chase; my childhood friend who I haven't seen in a long time. He was in the mist of everybody, standing majestic in a black tux. With a royal blue rose tucked into the front pocket of his tux and that little gesture high lighted his dark blue eyes.
He starred at me as if he was expecting me to meet him. And that's what I did.
"Look at you; we haven't seen each other for over a year now, and there you are looking as beautiful as ever. How do you manage that?". Roland said, while he stretched out his hand to me.
I took it, then we started swaying. "A year! I guess it has really been that long huh; and you never come to visit".
"I've been busy. My father has been making me learn everything there is to know about my pack, that there just haven't been time for..." He pauses.
"Time for me!" I completed his sentence.
