Casualties Of Wars
RAFA
"Luna, did you pick the herbs I ordered from you yesterday?" She looked surprised and nervous. Luna is forgetful and usually easily disturbed apprentice of mine. That is why I always follow up with the task I gave her.
"My apologies, Lady Rafa, my mind is off somewhere." she explained while smiling at me. Her smile always gives me self-control over getting angry. And at that, I am unable to get mad at her for long.
"As if I am not used to it, young lady. Come on, pick them all for me, quick! We will be having a lot of patients next week." she responded actively and happily. "Yes, right away", she then disappeared in white smoke. One of her special skills is teleportation. My visions keep on buzzing in my mind as if I have an alarm clock inside my brain. A lot of male patients will be coming next week. These stupid and prideful immortals are not really going to back down. Our little cabin in this deep forest is having trouble accommodating all of them. Our place has always been the most visited by sick and wounded immortals. Physicians in the capitals, according to the kings, were not helpful and effective in terms of fast healing. Kings Overall, the mainlands are a pain in the gut. They all want their soldiers to heal quickly and these orders have been repeated over the years. Our cabin is the only expert at that. Our secret ingredient is simple. Whenever I put my hands in, healing comes and the herbs used can heal even impossible wounds or sickness. The worst case of sickness usually heals within the day. However, this secret is confidential. All of my apprentices swore an oath whenever they start their job here at the Cabin. And this oath is sacred. Whoever breaks it will suffer from a deadly disease.
My apprentices are everywhere now. They are all busy preparing the patient's bed, cleaning everything in the cabin, including towels and bandages. And I, as their superior, always nurse patients in incognito. I never reveal my identity among the patients. Only the kings all over the mainland knew who I was because it was part of my terms and conditions with them.
