Whoville Pt. 2

A woman told him, “I’d tell your man all the details to make you happy.” He threw an arm around her and pointed, “You see? She’s so helpful.” He turned, “Aren’t you gorgeous! What is your name?” She blushed, “Elsey.” He said, “Well, Elsey let’s get your pure blessed soul a drink. Linc, my new girl needs a drink.” and just like that I smiled as my friend played wingman for our other friend. I stayed until well after midnight before ducking out. I was going on a mission tomorrow and I needed to get some sleep before meeting with my dad. I jogged back to my place with Rusty by my side. He jumped in my bed with me and I passed out. I woke up when someone punched my side. I groaned knowing exactly who it was. I asked, “Jocelyn, why?” My secretary answered, “You emailed me weeks ago if you weren’t up at a specific time to get you up.” I grumbled, “I didn’t say punch me.” She shrugged, “You never wake up when I try things nicely. I’ve learned this about you over the years. You’re a beast and a half to get up. Hit you and that gets results. I put you in a cold shower once and it didn’t phase you. Do you know how hard it was to lug you to said shower?” I grumbled, “Yes, because you told me.” She laughed, “Get up.” I said, “You only get away with this because you are mated to my head guard.” She winked before laughing maniacally. I groaned “CHESTER! WHY?!” I just heard him laughing. It was like I had to be punished because his mate was ridiculously good at her job and somewhat evil. I got up and got ready to go meet my dad. When I walked out Jocelyn was waiting. I asked, “What now?” She grinned, “Sign these please and here is your coffee with a breakfast sandwich.” I signed what she asked for and took the coffee and food. I warned, “I still remember how you woke me up.” She flipped her hair, “Ok then. See you when you get back. Your court has several cases.” I groaned, “Yay.” She laughed and skipped to Chester to kiss him. I portaled to my dad’s office. He held out a folder and I grabbed it. I asked, “You want to observe these people.” He nodded. I asked, “Why?” He answered, “Because an anonymous call was left on the Werewolf’s council voicemail. Nathan asked us to look into it.” I asked, “And when Uncle Gunner looked into it what did he find?” My dad smirked and nodded to the file. I found that the call had been traced to Santa Ana, California. I asked, “This was last week?” He nodded. I asked, “What’s there?” He said, “The question would be what’s in Anaheim, California.” My jaw dropped, “The dance competition? You think Melanie called this in?” He shrugged, “Yes, I do.” I stared at him, “Are we talking to her?” He sighed, “We don’t have proof. The call was made from a payphone that was twenty minutes away from where she was staying. She never popped up on a single camera from here to there.” I asked, “What about the phone itself?” He answered, “It's near a regional park with no cameras. Nathan and Eric loosely asked about her competition and made no mention of her and Sam going, which we didn’t find. Sam nor the Warriors with them said she was out of their sight.” I snorted, “So, this is a coincidence?” I didn’t believe that and neither did he. He nodded, “Look what the tip was.” I quickly read it and scoffed, “A threat against Alexander was called in in the state, only twenty minutes away from the girl with a wolf identical to his as a stuffed animal and we can’t talk to her?” My dad rubbed his temples, “If I had proof, I’d be talking to her. Sam’s card wasn’t used for a cab. There’s nothing to suggest it was her.” I said, “Except everything. There has to be something. She’s eleven.” My dad reasoned, “That’s an adult here.” I agreed, “Yes, except she’s a Werewolf and a very sheltered one.” My dad smirked, “She’s a literal genius, son. Gunner is looking and combing over everything with the technology division. If there’s something to find, we will.” I nodded, “I’ll go observe. If I find the threat is credible do I have permission to end them?” He nodded, “Yes, just call someone else in.” I snorted, “I can handle them alone.” He nodded, “I know that but a threat on our family could easily be transferred to another one of us. I am sending you because I know you two get along and you’d want to be out there.” I admitted, “Sometimes when I look at Alexander, EJ, and Cassie it hits me they might not have been with us if Aunt Haley wasn’t so strong. If someone thinks they can spit on her personal strengths and sacrifices she made to make sure they lived they are wrong.” He nodded to me. I opened a portal and quickly faded back. I found the start of a bad joke hanging out. A Goblin, Frost Giant, and Warlock sat in the woods together. I watched for hours, but they weren’t even speaking. They were waiting for something. I heard a twig snap behind me and faded in to grab the person on instinct. I let them go instantly. She popped us further back. I asked, “What the hell is a Fairy guard doing here?” She answered, “My King got a tip.” I blinked several times, “You got one too? How?” She grinned, “We don’t know. Isn’t that terribly exciting?” I answered, “No, it’s completely maddening. Did you get a phone call? A note? What’s going on?” She admitted, “We got a call and a note. Typed and no prints.” I rubbed my head, “What portal?” She answered, “One we have in California.” Mmhmm. She said, “That’s not a group that is up to any good. I wonder how someone heard.” I wondered how a specific someone heard and I bet Aiden Holloran did too. I called my dad. He asked, “Are you already moving?” I said, “I have a Royal Fairy guard here.” She chuckled, “It’s Garsendalla. You are quite handsome. I have heard you people have the stamina I desire. My concupiscen…” I cut her off, “Not happening lady.” She pouted, “You are still upset with us about the Princ…” I cut her off, “You’re a guard and you should’ve helped her. So, it’s not happening. Shut up before I kill you.” She rolled her eyes but stopped talking. My dad said, “I’ll call Aiden.” I hung up. She said, “I wasn’t a guard in the Royal residence when the Princess lived there, so I don't find your assessment fair.” That was good since I would’ve killed her if she was. I replied, “I don’t give a rat's ass about being fair.” She questioned, “What does a rat’s ass have to do with anything?” I answered, “It shows my lack of complete care for any situation involving you.” She grinned, “But we are working together. You will see I am helpful.” I acknowledged, “I don’t doubt that, but I will not f**k a Fairy so long as I live. A partial, sure. A full blooded one, not a single chance.” She huffed, “That’s not…” I cut her off, “I don’t care if you find it fair or not.” She grinned, “You will like me sooner or later.” I stared at her unmoved and uncaring. I’d made a personal vow after seeing what full blooded Fairies did to my Aunt. It wasn’t going to happen and I didn’t give a s**t if it was fair. I said, “I don’t doubt your skill. I know you will be helpful because you care for your King.” She replied, “I do like the Duke as well. He has not been interested in any advances thus far. Can you tell me his preference? Is it male or female? Though I suppose it could be both or neither.” I looked at her incredibly blonde hair. I said, “Yeah, you’re not his type.” She nodded, “So men. That is odd. Plenty of men have thrown themselves at him in Faerie.” I snorted, “He’s not into men.” She said, “Then I am his type.” I shook my head, “No, you’re not.” Because her name wasn’t Melanie McAlister. She asked, “Why? What does he like?” I answered, “Dancers.” She gasped, “I do dance!” I said, “You’re not the right one.” She pouted again. I grabbed her and went closer to the group we were watching. A bounty Hunter joined them. She muttered, “Sefre decally Uy starting Ze seem like Tem bad joke Renk sop (This really is starting to seem like a bad joke got together).” I replied, “Za thought The same jui Za Renk here (I thought the same when I got here).” She beamed excitedly, “You know Fealish. I thought you might.” I’d learned for my Aunt. I didn’t reply so she said, “I find that incredibly attractive.” I told her, “I don’t give a damn that you are attractive or that you find me attractive. It’s not happening.” She pouted, “You all are so serious.” I said, “True. You should find someone more entertaining.” She huffed and checked her nails. Why on earth would Aiden send her? I could acknowledge she had to be quite skilled at her powers and fighting. You didn’t just get to be a Royal Fae Guard because you were attractive. She had the signals of all the elements on her armor, but they all did. If only they give away which element they were that would greatly help the rest of us. The bounty hunter said, “It’s confirmed. The young Alpha Enforcer is driving his brother to practice. He will be alone.” Someone said, “Being with his brother is not alone.” The bounty hunter waved, “It’s one of the younger ones.” The Goblin said, “They all have wolves.” The Frost Giant asked, “So now you are scared of a baby wolf?” The Warlock said, “They call them pups.” The Goblin snorted, “And?” The Warlock shrugged. The bounty hunter said, “If I were you, I’d dip out.” He pointed at the Warlock. I actually agreed since my Aunt loathed them as a group. The Warlock gasped, “Why?” The Frost Giant answered, “Because going after the young enforcer and killing him is the goal.” Fury filled my veins and I yanked my dad and Aunt Haley to me. The Warlock said, “Well, you need me to stall the car.” I felt my Aunt behind me with my dad and she was pissed off already. The bounty Hunter said, “Yes, but the Fairy Princess loathes Witches and Warlocks.” The Warlock said, “I think she’d be an equal opportunity for the group that kills her son.” Oh boy. My Aunt screamed out a war cry and I heard my Uncle shift. So, she brought Uncle Eric. The Fairy guard popped in with my Aunt and set the Frost Giant on fire and electrocuted him. Interesting. I took off after the bounty Hunter and was on him before he got away. He said, “I didn’t do it.” I scoffed, “I’ve been here awhile.” I knocked him out and put him in cuffs. I lugged his dead weight back to the group. My Uncle Eric had ripped the Goblin apart and My dad was holding my Aunt, the Warlock was missing. I asked Garsendalla, “Where is the Warlock?” She answered, “It was ever so fascinating watching the Princess use her charms. She threw him through a portal to Faerie. My King was waiting and even smiled.” I asked, “Did you tell him there was a Warlock here?” She answered, “Of course. I called him while you ran down the bounty Hunter. I watched your muscles ripple and informed him there was a Warlock in the group. We did suspect that since our note told us.” We didn’t get that so why did they? The answer was obvious. Melanie would know that interested Haley and Aiden probably told Haley. They prepared for that. She trailed her fingers up my arm, “Am I not impressive?” I replied, “That is a cool power. Cease touching me if you don’t want your fingers broken.” She grumbled, “Oh come on!” I told her, “It’s not going to happen.” My Aunt said, “Garsendalla, he said no. Respect his choice please and note I f*****g said please.” I grinned at my Aunt. Garsendalla said, “It’s not fair none of us can get anywhere with him because of what happened to you.” I grabbed her by the neck, “Shut up.” My Aunt popped over and touched my shoulder. I let the damn Fairy go. Haley said, “Go back home, Garsendalla. Thank you for your help here defending my son.” She nodded, “Damn his grip is even awesome. I could just imagine him choking me while…” Uncle Eric growled, “Will you just go.” She chuckled and popped away. I said, “I think I’m offended. She wasn’t scared of me.” Aunt Haley said, “She will be later. She was riding the high of the fight.” I asked, “Do we need to talk?” She asked, “About?” I answered, “About what she said?” My Aunt replied, “If you would like to discuss your s****l preferences I wouldn't mind and would always be willing to talk. I personally don’t think you owe anyone a damn explanation about it though.” I hugged her, “I love you and there is no one like you.” She laughed, “Of course there isn't. Everyone is unique.” My Uncle nodded to me, “Thank you for coming to protect Alexander.” Haley asked, “Are you all going with the prank tipped us off too?” I said, “I think she did.” She groaned, “Fine. Don’t f*****g tell me and keep this charade going.” I bit my lip to avoid laughing since that would only confirm for her that Melanie was a prank. It was a fair assumption on her part after all the years of everyone telling her they’d get her back. They’d been talking about this girl for eleven years with no proof. She’d even asked for pictures and either got a blurry blob or pictures with everyone but Melanie in them. I knew she was real because EJ met her, but Aunt Haley was convinced that she was a hired actress. Then again, I knew Alexander had her hoodie. I’d also found her registered for plenty of events from dancing to science fairs. She won them too. Aunt Haley just thought it was a ruse. I couldn't really blame her though. I sighed, “They just keep coming for him.” Uncle Eric said, “They come for our family.” I replied, “Yeah, but it’s him the most. Why?” We didn’t have that answer and it pissed us off. The only thing we could think of is they thought he’d be easier to get to than EJ. I asked, “Who is going with Alexander to whatever he was driving his brother to alone?” Aunt Haley answered, “His guard is faded back.” I said, “Someone else should go.” Aunt Haley shook her head, “No, have people on the route.” My dad sighed, “Little one…” She cut him off, “My children aren’t going to live in f*****g fear because these assholes won’t stop trying to kill MY f*****g CHILDREN! UGH!” She exploded a tree and then grew it back. My Uncle Eric rocked her back and forth. She said, “Alexander doesn’t need to live in fear. I won’t let my children think something is going to jump out at them at every turn. They won’t f*****g live like that, Bjourn.” I looked at the sky while my eyes blazed. Because she lived like that in Faerie. She was terrified to leave her room, but she still did it. Uncle Eric said, “I’ll have Warriors on patrol and have Liam and others stationed along the way.” My dad said, “As will I.” I said, “My ass will be there. Where are they going?” Haley answered, “Soccer. Bradley wants to try it out.” I nodded, “I’ll be there.” She kissed me on the cheek, “Thank you, H.” I ruffled her hair and portaled back to our realm. I called Alexander. He answered, “Hey.” I said, “I’ll be around you later.” He asked, “Are you just dying to see a five-year-old's soccer practice?” I laughed, “You know it.” He scoffed, “Uh huh.” I teased, “I’ll bet it makes a certain dancer feel better.” He instantly asked, “Melanie? Why?” I laughed, “Maybe one day we can ask her about it.” I hung up. I portaled to the technology division. I asked, “Uncle Gunner, where is Bradley’s soccer practice?” He quickly pulled it up on a screen and showed me. I could run the whole way with them. It was only ten miles from their house, but it was in no man’s land. I asked, “How long are we giving it before Uncle Eric forms a little kid soccer team?” Uncle Gunner laughed, “Little League and I’ve got a hundred bucks on ten minutes.” I laughed, “You’re on. I give it five.” We both laughed and I portaled to the border of no man’s land and Black Mountain. When I spotted the SUV with Alexander behind the wheel I took off and felt several of my people near and wolves. They didn’t get out of the SUV until I knocked on the window. Bradley squealed, “H!” Alexander laughed, “I told you he was coming to watch buddy.” I asked, “So, why is the supernatural soccer league for supernatural in no man’s land.” He replied, “I’m sure you can guess.” Bradley announced, “It’s my last day anyway. Daddy’s starting a new one and he’s going to be my coach.” I laughed, “Of course he is.” I am sure Gunner knew which one of us won. We walked inside together. Alexander said, “And now they descend.” I asked, “Who?” Suddenly we were surrounded by women. I asked, “What the f**k? I’m trying to watch my cousin play soccer. Back the f**k up.” Several people gasped while Alexander laughed. One woman said, “Well, I never. I’m just trying to introduce my daughter to future Alpha Alexander. They could be mates.” I replied, “He’d have smelled her and acted differently. Go away.” Alexander told me, “Yeah, they aren’t going to do that.” While we sat there she wolf after she wolf bombarded us. I asked, “Is this why your dad didn’t come?” Alexander laughed, “No, he’s got meetings all day. It’s not this bad when he comes unless we are with him. Well, that’s what he says anyway.” I asked, “Does your mom ever come with him? Because these women are asking to die.” Several scoffed at me again. I let my eyes blaze at them and that had them looking away. Alexander answered, “They go to the games together. I don’t know if they go to the practices together.” A harassed man walked over to us. He said, “Your father can’t just announce he’s creating a team.” Alexander replied, “He did so I’m guessing he can.” The man hit his clipboard, “You need to take your brother and go.” I asked, “Why? Did they not pay you for the soccer lesson?” He answered, “Well yes.” I asked, “Are they taking any of the money they gave you back?” He sighed, “No.” I asked, “Are they accepting anyone from this team into theirs?” He replied, “Well, not this year but they will next year.” I snorted, “And there will be a limit. You’ll still have a damn team. This isn’t about you or your precious soccer league. It’s about my cousin's safety. What the hell is wrong with this realm? f**k off.” The man literally fled. Alexander laughed, “You’ll have to come more often. I’m not left alone like this when I come. I’m actually getting to watch Bradley today.” I frowned, “I thought Aunt Haley said he was just trying it out.” Alexander laughed, “He’s been coming to practice for months now.” I frowned, “He could finish on the team.” Alexander winked, “Grant and Bryce want to play now. They can with this new team starting.” I laughed, “Of course.” I watched, “I mean they all herd and congregate to the ball, but he is quite good.” Alexander told me, “He’s better in goal, but they rotate the pups so they all get a chance. If he wants to keep playing he’d be a good goalie. He even blocks my shots when I play with him sometimes.” Then he was quite good. I was beaming at my cousin and clapping. I wondered if my own children would enjoy sports. Alexander said, “You know my dad will ask if you’ll coach if you want too.” I snorted, “I don’t have time.” He replied, “Yeah, you do and you’re good with pups.” I replied, “I’m not so good with she wolves.” He laughed, “Yet the unmated ones are bouncing their eyes between you and me wanting either of us if we showed the slightest interest. There are some she wolves you haven’t minded.” That was true. I’d gone to bed with a few before they’d found their mates. Wolves were just fine. None from my Aunt and Uncle’s pack since I don’t s**t where I sleep. I wasn’t inviting that trouble in for now. If someone popped up on my radar I couldn't resist then I’d go with it. It wasn’t a hard and fast rule. Several of my cousins and brothers had s*x with their pack members and nothing bad happened. When Bradley ran over when he was done. I held up my hand for a high five. I said, “Good job, little man.” He snorted, “I’m not that little.” A reason they had these leagues was because he definitely didn’t look five. He wasn’t as tall as Alexander had been at his age though.
