Chapter 11

VALENTINE

I lit a cigarette and prepared myself for a night of keeping perv's from the club. Osiris was talking about shift changes throughout the night.

"I wonder how I can fix things with Ray. I miss being near her." I whimpered to myself.

"Are you listening to me?" shouted Osiris.

"What?" I chuckled.

Suddenly the air became hard to breath and I glanced up to the sky. I was met with a mammoth of a demon barreling towards us. My cigarette fell from my open mouth. Before I could warn anyone, he landed 3 feet from us. His sheer mass collapsed the concrete beneath his feet. I turned to dart for the doors but, his hand was around my head and neck in an instant. He chucked Osiris and I through Umbra's entrance.

The shock of it all took my breath away and as I lay hunched over trying to catch the air back in my lungs, he spoke.

"Where is Quinn?!" he roared. He then started picking up patrons and biting their heads clean off while screaming into the night.

Everyone in full panic had started shouting and fleeing the building. Osiris snapped into his demon hound. Kiva came running from the office and was met with the demons face. She turned behind her and yelled, "Boss! Hurry!" Out of the corner of my eye I spotted Quinn trembling and crying behind Nyx.

Like a blast from a cannon, Rayna flew straight into the demons face. The stinger in her tail pierced his eye and I watched as the force knocked him flat on his back. Rayna landed at the crown of his head. She was fury and beauty wrapped into one and strapped with firearms. If we weren't all in peril I would jump her I'm sure.

"Nyx, get her out of here now! Osiris, get everyone else to safety! Cass, go protect the girls! V!" she started screaming orders. My heart was beating out of my chest when she called my name.

"Get your head in the game asshole!" is shouted to myself.

"Boss?!" I replied.

"On my 6 now!" she ordered. In the blink of an eye I was at her side and she handed me one of her guns.

The demon started to arise while screaming in pain and he locked in on Ray.

"WHERE IS QUINN?!" he howled again slamming his fists and cracking the glass dance floor.

"Who wants to know?! Who are you to come f*****g up my club!?" she screamed back. Ray never took a shot if she didn't have too. It only took about 2 minutes of talking though, before she knew if she was going to kill you.

"We had a deal! I bought her! She sold her to me! Give her to me! She's mine! he roared so loud I was sure the glass windows would shatter. I look over at Ray for some kind of direction, and she was smiling.

"That b***h was truly unbelievable. I'm glad I killed her." she responded.

RAYNA

This gigantic asshole made a lunge for me. I planted my feet firmly to fly straight upward to dodge. However V, like battering ram, shoved me so hard I went flying into the bar. I watched in a panic as his fist made contact with V's whole body. He went crashing through the front window. I couldn't move, I was so scared V was hurt. Then Osiris in a black flash came through the broken window and wrapped his powerful jaws around the demons arm. The demon craned back and tossed Osiris up on the balcony, hitting Kiva square in the face, taking them both out.

"You son of b***h!" I screamed. He was hurting everyone I ever cared about and I was at my limit for bullshit. I leaped over his head and wrapped my tail around his neck. I landed both of my stilettos into his shoulders, piercing his flesh. I dug my left hand into his skull to stabilize myself and with my free hand, I grabbed my gun and unloaded the clip in the back of his head. He dropped like a thousand pound bag of s**t and I stayed hovering in the air.

I waited a moment to be sure he was dead and the I flew to V. He was picking himself up off the floor and was a little banged up.

"Gods you i***t. You could have gotten severely f****d up. You shouldn't have done that!" I started yelling. I was a mix of fear for his life and relief that he was alright.

"It's my job, remember?!" he snapped at me. I flew off in a huff, too concerned about everyone else to deal with him.

I flew up to Kiva who was tending to Osiris as he healed.

"You guys okay? Kiva?" I asked frantically. She smiled and replied, "I've taken bigger to the face." She then wiped the blood from her nose. I stared in disbelief and then flew down to the lower level.

I snatched the gun from V's hand and Cassius entered the club from the elevator, with a group of clients. He escorted them around the carcass and to safety. Right behind them were the rest of my charges.

"All safe and sound." I sighed to myself.

"Is everyone alive?" I asked the group. Murmurs of yes scattered the crowd. Leo then pointed to a few dead patrons and said, "This guys not."

"I meant the staff Leo, thank you." I responded exhausted.

"This is a big f*****g mess. Kiva please take my key card and get me a change of clothes from home. Anyone strong enough, help me remove this asshole...and SOMEONE GET ME A GOD DAMN DRINK AND A CIGARETTE." I ordered.
