Chapter 9

RAYNA

V's tongue was so hot it cut my flesh as he licked his way up my thigh. His silver tongue ring shined as his mouth started to water. My heart was in my throat and my breath was gone. When he arrived between my thighs, he parted my lips and sucked my sweetest spot. My back arched against my will and I exhaled my pleasure into the night.

"Please, I cant take it!" I moaned. My body was aching to be slammed. My mouth longed to be filled. V smirked and crawled his way to my face.

"Fine then, I'll take you. All of you." He growled as he wrapped his hand around my throat and pulled my body down around his c**k.

I shot up on the couch coughing, my skin on fire and my claws ripping a hole in my couch.

"Oh my f*****g gods what is wrong with me?!" I sputtered.

I covered my mouth to hold my panic inside. After a few moments I got up and rummaged through my purse to find my phone. It read 1 pm and was almost dead so I plugged it in. I plopped on the couch and looked over at Edgar who had his head tucked under his wing, fast asleep. I took a deep breath to clear my body of this betrayal.

"I can't do this again." I sighed. I turned on the TV and scrolled through Hellify to play my favorite dark rave playlist. I started the hot water for a bath and through in a blackberry bath bomb. I submerged up to my eyeballs and stared at the wall.

"I have got to get it together. I have too many people to protect to be this distracted. Not to mention he has someone. How do I keep this from escaping my dreams?" I thought to myself. Then a light bulb went off, " I know! I'll ask Kiva to accept a promotion to be my personal assistant creating a barrier between us. I will only have to see him at work." I shouted to the bathroom walls.

"Or you could kill whoever he has a thing for and take him for yourself." the voice in my head chanted.

I rattled the thought out of my brain and began lathering my skin. Once I was clean I got out of the tub and put my hair in bun. I looked at myself in the mirror. Though my skin was flawless and I was a creature designed to be beautiful, I thought I looked old and depressed. I shuffled to my room and put on an over sized hoodie and my skull slippers before making my way to the kitchen.

"Where the hell is my ice cream?! I know they put it in the bag." I stated aloud frantically searching for it. I opened the freezer to see it sitting there.

"I guess I put it away last night." I said confused.

I grabbed a bowl and began to prepare my Hellfire Ramen. When it finished, I grabbed my food and cucumber water and wrapped myself in my fuzzy blanket. While settled on the couch I perused a few streaming services.

"Pyre video? No. HeavenTube? Naw. Thulu? Nope. Helfix, yea that works." I debated to myself. I turned on Season 3 episode 12 of Streamdale. The episode began with a couple in a fit of passion, rolling around in red silk sheets. I immediately regretted that and turned on Gorgon's Kitchen. Gorgon was screaming profanities at his kitchen staff.

"Mush bebber." I said with a mouth full of noodles. My phone vibrated next to me, sending a wave of panic through my heart.

EMBER: Boss we made it.

I will see you in a few days.

I told Quinn to be on her best

behavior and left her with Nyx.

RAYNA: I'm glad you guys made it safe. Relax and get well. I will do my best to make Quinn happy while you are away.

I sighed in relief that it was only Ember and finished my meal. I laid down on the couch and dozed off peacefully to Gorgon screaming.

I was awoken to Edgars claws dancing on my face and him squawking, "Hungry!"

"Gods Ed don't you do anything but eat!" I barked. I grabbed my phone and headed to the back door.

"Here, go do something productive." I pleaded as he shot past me into the darkness.

After lighting a cigarette I looked at my phone and it read 4:35 pm. I dialed Kiva and listened to the trilling while the quiet of the world hung around me.

"Boss? You're awake at a decent hour, what's wrong?" she teased.

"Rude. Nothing is wrong. I have a proposition for you" I replied.
