Explorers of nightmares

After many years of preparation Lucille was ready for work in hers dream´s job as a real investigator in the most bigger and powerful company in the world WIC company, while she was walking verifying her checklist in tablet she thought. “After all this time, now I can satisfy my only wish in my life, try to feed my insane and insatiable curiosity how much as I can, after visited many countries, many places, living a lot of situations, now I can go beyond to my imagination with this project, also help resolve to the growing problems with that weird nightmare infections in the world” she said in low voice. She was a really passionate of the knowledge, all people has some addiction like with video games, drugs, alcohol, work, s*x, food, cigarette anything, but she had different type of addiction any person would thought is not a problem, maybe the people would believe that she is a totally nerd but it wasn’t something like that it was more like thirst of knowledge, something so hard to filled even throw the years was getting worst this sickly curiosity, since she was a child, she used to have many weird and scary hobbies. Ones of that strange hobbies were: searched for animals corps and then opened to saw their organisms or investigate how they died, the other hobby was about read many difficult books about any topics no matter if it was for her age; it might be because she is a genius or maybe because her parents gave her many materials like microscopes, chemistry games, telescope, anything for create a love for science due they were scientists; almost all people around that family suspected that the parents might obligate her daughter to be a genius. But it was untrue Lucille was so happy to learn all that their parents just support her since she started to read, maybe at 5 years old. When she grow up when to interchange in many countries in the high school, she went to china, to learn Chinese and all about their culture, maybe she traveled there all the places that she could like: Forbidden palace were she observe all the architecture, history, myths and all, she went to the biggest centers of investigation to work as a helper with the researchers looking for new technologies, new vaccines, all this was possible due her effort investigate in many areas and because she won many prices for her school in international conquests of knowledge and she participates with her parents in many investigations. When she studied at the most prestigious university in England, then she traveled for work as investigator in India, Mexico, Canada, Belgium, United States of America, Japan and Germany, because she has one of the best levels of education and experience in the science´s world. Returning to the actually now she is 28 years old, and very famous by her investigations in the scientific world, she isn’t like a common girl is more in too develop her knowledge and experiences than meet a good boy or get marry, she always see those things as a waste of time, time that she could use for learn more, so nowadays in the new company she was working in a new project to explore the more recondite and mysterious places not just in the world as soon as possible they will be able to discover the human mind, ones of the more biggest mystery in the history as a result of a problem with the outbreak of nightmares in different parts of the world, but first they have to investigate de causes of all those material that the mind can process in a very awful and horrify fears, especially because those morbid phenome were materializing the people´s nightmares. “Hey Lucille! Come here we need your help to see our very first mission in this amazing project”, said a partner called Andrew. Andrew was a very clever guy who was expert as engineer and so creative for make a very effective solutions for any problem that it can present. “ Hey Andrew how is going your fabulous machine? Is it working as we expected?” she looked at him with her eyes filled with emotion, waiting for a positive reply from Andrew. As usually he pretended to be in a struggle for a minute just for add more thrill to the moment, he always were very a good actor, then he palmed his head like he just didn’t do nothing about his incredible artifact then Lucille just hit the boy in his head to added “Andrew! You kiddo stop to be so annoying and tell me now I have to go to check another important things! So be most brief as you can please”she said. But she could not endure her concern about it and some little drops of sweat fallen from her forehead because he was still with the actor pose, while she opened her big brown eyes watching him so carefully suddenly he laughed out a loud while a tiny tears sprouted by his eyes. “You should see you face!, I will never get bored of this hahaha” he claimed. While he was clutching the belly and wiped his tears, she gave him such a serious look that she broke his joke when she saw him like this Andrew felt that a frozen chill ran in his spine later. “Huh! what happened? Do you believed that you are the only one how are allowed to do jokes? Then she smiled at him and she asked again “So? How is going all in your area?” she laugh so laught and claimed. Andrew took a deep breath and started to explain saying this “Well all is right now I just want to make some proofs for check if it is working like is supposed to do, you know we should not waste a lot of time once we are out, by the way the nightmarezader just can work in groups of 3 for now” while he was expecting Lucille´s reaction and respond. Andrew cross his fingers just to not get a scolding from Lucille, because that awesome machine have to be perfect for work in their investigation, but the team that have the responsibly to work on that project have six members, including Lucille and Andrew. Lucille just kept her thinking about what the ginger said, and then her answer was “ It is okay Andrew our firsts missions are not so hard, so maybe we can work in trios for now, but then maybe we will need help from Carol for expand the number of the people that the nightmarezader can support without a fails, so don’t worry I know is too hard working with Carol, but you know we need her, I mean you are so cleaver but we need to each other’s for get more perspectives” Lucille said. Both knew that Carol is a such a strict woman and has a very bad temperament, but at the same time she is very smart for find a good solutions that mostly people could not find easily. Andrew just get red face and said some bad words in a little whisper in a form of tantrum, because he really hates work with Carol, more if he have to allow hear that he did not work more efficient; but it was not the real bad part, because he knows when accept a mistake, but not in the way that Carol could let him know his mistakes in his own machine, Carol was not at all empathetic or assertive, just cold and rude. “Ok Andrew now I have find to Melany because she has the organization of our first mission, so when you talked with Carol, come to the main saloon for a general meet please, at 3:00 PM, see you Andrew and do not fight with Carol I knew she is a little picky but we need her” Lucille said. She started to walk again on the hallways looking for a room called “Human chemical science” she knocked the door four times, inside the room “Who is outside? I am so busy now, but if is an important thing, before entre wear biological emergency suit, and do not forget use the stupid mask like if you were a little child, I am no playing with a silly things! Please!” it sound a voice who said. “Of course Melany! You do not have to worry about it! Now I am getting ready for enter Ok.” Lucille just answered. While she took a biological emergency suit, heading to the alternate mini room, once inside she took off her lab coat, for wear the suit, as soon as she was ready to enter, finally wear the especial mask. When Lucille arrived with Melany, she saw her examining some chemicals in a human brain opened in a corpse, Melany was with the doctor Steven wearing a very unusual and exotic biological emergency suit, it was not the common yellow or white suit, it was a suit very colorful with a kitten pattern, but it does not mean that it was not a safe suit for their work. When Lucille was with them Melany stopped all were she was doing to approach to Lucille and greet giving her a special high five that both girls created, next Steven was so cheerful because he saw all the scene and suddenly he jumped so high as he can, before the three guys started to dance so randomly, they were so closed as brothers, because they studied together in the university and high school, that is why those guys were so warm and happy between them. Unexpectedly and very abruptly they stopped their little party, because the boss enter in the room, and they were trying to act like they were working so seriously, but obviously it did not work, because the boss called Rebecca who was so serious, clever, tall and strong woman of science said to them “Hello doctors, I hope are you taking this project so serious as it deserves, even if you worked in an important projects in the past too, but as you now this is a real challenge for the humanity and also a necessity for get a solution to the problem that we have now in our world, this project is not just a relaxing investigation, the wellness of humanity is on our hands; so Doctors behave as you should… I will see you in the meet room in two hours, got it?” then Rebecca looked at them so serious, because maybe she has an important reason for be so professional and strict now; possibly something horrible was about to happen. In this moment the friends in that room just nodded their heads, with a little bit of fear. “Ok we got it Doctor Miller, we will see you in two hours” they said For an instant the buddies felt guilty for been showing a lots of happiness in a serious moment, and they just continued in silence for a couple of minutes after Doctor Miller leaved the room; “Hey!, hey!, even if we are a brilliant researchers we have the right to feel happy at our work, or not?, we have to enjoy every moment like it were the last, so do not worry a lots, we always be very skillful for enjoy and resolve anything right?”Steven suddenly break the silence for said. Next he draw a smiled with his fingers in the air, because they were wearing a mask, it was a kind of sign to demonstrate happiness out of his protecting equipment. After the muggy moment the team return to the point why Lucille had arrive with them in the first occasion. “So tell us little Lu why we have the honor to have you in our humble lab” said Steven as if he would be a royal duke. “Well guys our first mission will be in 3 days, so we have to finish all the prototypes for that moment, I know, I know we need more time, but you need to recognize that we have many alerts now due our problem with contagious nightmares, because the call center of WIC company send many reports that in some places those nightmare have been like materialized, maybe it can sounds very crazy, but as a real researchers we need to consider all the variables”So Lucille started to saying. When Lucille finished her dialogue she relief a big sigh of resignation, because she needed to work more in her own part of the project. “Okay it is clear that the time is short and is approaching so fast the moment to act due to the global situation, our work is hard because we never have enough time to do all, so we have to be so quickly and strict with ourselves.”Steven and Melany just growled and Melany said. While she crossed her arms Steven looked at the team a little stress out. “Hey the problem is not just be strict with ourselves, we have to be so more strict between the members of our team, because is the only way to have a better results in our investigations. But anyway what we going to eat and do before the meet of today?”he said then he opened his arms with enthusiasm. “Okay I do not have time to lose as you guys, well see you at 3:00 PM o´clock in the meet room, and please do not forget your reports of today, cheerio!.” Lucille alleged. She leaved the room, before she enter again to the mini room to keep off the suit and all secure equipment, once she wears her bat lab, and go out of the mini room. She was walking to her lab for work the time that was left before the meeting; once she took a sit in her big and comfortable chair, she checkup her reports about the cure for night terrors that she were working for years, that was the real reason because the WIC company asked for her collaboration in the investigation project, but maybe you are wondering, what is a night terror? It is a screaming episodes, very intense fear, and agitation during sleep; it´s often combined with sleepwalking. Whereas she was reading some data about the lasted experiments in a few volunteers for try the cure for night terror, that it was called heal-dream, or HEDR for abbreviation, she thought that it is still a big gap between the effective cure and the worst situation it was about to come, with the contagion of grave nightmares, not counting the materialization of those nightmares. “We have to get hurry with all this, because the most awful fears are in the human minds, because we can imagine everything and without no control, as in an ambient like dreams or nightmares could be so dangerous for the humanity and at sum in a pandemic could be catastrophic”She reflexed about the most horrible possibility if it could be true. In this moment the Lucille´s skin went goosebumps, not just because the risk that it means, it was more for the reason the unknown, the mystery, the enigmatic that it was waiting for learn, the shot of adrenaline made her work a tons more than anyone, analyzing and comparing the shot period of time went so fast and suddenly her door knocked by Jung; the most brave member of the team, he was known because his adventurous investigations, for not saying that he was so unconscious for damage that could receive, he was expert in anthropology and social psychology, a real genius in those areas, he appreciate a lots Lucille because they have the same ambitions, maybe he was not aware that Lucille was not a kind of ambition was more like addiction for knowledge; suddenlly “Lu it is time to go to today´s meeting, so hurry up!”he called to her door. While he leaned against the wall for wait Lucille, then suddenly Carol appeared a side of Jung, trying to be the most social she could, reaching out her hand to give him high five that, because she knew that not all the team want her as a friend, due her strict way to be; But Jung just surprised a lot and made a kind of high five very weak accompanied with a shocked face, he was so bad to hide his emotions with his coworkers, behind her Andrew was walking so quickly as he could. “Why do you never wait for me after work together.” he screamed. While he was trying to keep his breath in his lungs. Suddenly Lucille reacted to the noises outside her lab, she jumped in her chair then watched her wristwatch, then she adjusted his glasses and walked to her door to opened it, later she saw Jung, Carol and Andrew waiting for her; but also they were wondering what happened with Steven and Melany that they were changing her clothes in the mini room; but it didn't take long to them for arrived with their pals. Approximately three minutes after Melany and Steven arrived to the Lucille´s lab very agitated for the rush to be punctual at the meeting, because all the team knew that their boss the doctor Miller hates the unpunctual workers, but luckily the team were just on time to go to meet room. Once all together they hiked to the meet room, as soon as possible because the installations of the investigations center was so enormous, and unfortunate all the mini cars were in repair, while they walking. “Oh my god I always wanted have a skate for this situations, but sadly all the security norms do not allowed that.” all laughed about what he said excepted Carol, she respond, “When are you going to grow Andrew?, the security norms are important for a reason, do not be so dumb.” Andrew claimed. “Just in time, I am surprised doctors and engineers, is the first time after almost one year of work together; we do not have time to lose so Melany show us the organization for the very first mission” claim Rebecca while she indicated to the others to took a sit in their places, next Melany started to read her plan for the first mission. “Thanks Dr. Miller, well everyone maybe have many questions for the place that we will go, so it will be in France specific coordinates: 44°26′42″N 1°25′54″E , we have our very first possible case of a materializing of a nightmare, with a male subject that refers had a nightmare every day since he had a horrible situation with very dangerous accident in the Valentré bridge, he was fixing the bridge, but suddenly he falls in the water, due this accident he broke a leg and a hand; then for almost 20 days in arrow he was having nightmares almost as nocturnal horror, but every day the nightmare is like a fragmented movie scenes, now the family saw his nightmare materialized.” she said then she took a breath for continuing with the information. Steven reached his hand for have doctor Miller´s atenttion. “Dr. Melany sorry for interrupting you, but can we have more information about the type of nightmare that the subject had?” he said. While he leaning on the table, showing more interest in the moment. “Of course Dr. Steven the nightmare is a kind a demon almost like the devil, with an humanoid characteristics but with goat parts. So continuing with the information, the subject and his family refers have many encounters with this demon; obviously as professional that we are, we sent a team for recollect more evidence and they took many proofs with a special cameras, electromagnetic wave detector and more so you can have a look in the screen please or if you prefer in your graphic tablet.”, then Melany started showing the evidences.
