"what's this?" she asked me as she alighted the stairs.
"decided to make you breakfast?" I said beaming with the brightest smiles ever, she looked around my house in utter shock and shook her head, giving a faint smile, that smile someone gives when you make a complete fool of yourself,
"listen, thanks for yesterday, and no thanks since you wanted to take advantage of me. But this little meeting of ours has come to an abrupt end. I do not know you, neither do you know me. Okay? Sayōnara," she waved at me before walking towards the door exiting. I could feel his blood boil on my insides, I could feel the anger rushing through my veins, but I quickly changed my mood, girls do this every time, play hard to get just to see how willing we are ready to chase them and give in after two or three approaches. She's just gonna be like every other girl, foolish and naive but her back story is rather intriguing. Sitting alone at my dining table, once again, eating the pancakes I took my careful time to prepare, while thinking of a way to get to this girl, was now going to be my daily routine. What kind of girl is she? And who is this ex of hers? My phone rang interrupting me from my thoughts, looking at the caller ID, i immediately regretted answering the call,
"Harriett baby, how are you?"
"you have not answered my calls all day, you always claim to be busy like i don't have photo shoots..." with her endless battering, I put the call on speaker and left my phone to be. I wasn't ready to be worn out so early in the morning.
"yes James, what's the agenda for today?"
"so, Mr. Philip needs you to come up with something different this time, a newer movie, something that can keep the crowd interested, and he says you have limited time before he passes this offer on to someone else, and if he does, we'll be losing a lot of money on this,"
"tell him that I already have something in mind but he should give me a little more time, say two months and I'll give him the best story than any producer could come up with,"
"noted. You have an interview with Starr TV show this afternoon by noon, following that is a meeting with your board of directors, and your presence is requested to attend Cameron Diaz's birthday this evening along with other dignified celebrities,"
"I need you to do something for me, something no one should know."
"what's up?"
"this girl," I showed him a picture of Lisa while we were at the bar. " I need every detail about her, from where she lives, where she works, who she interacts with, every important detail, and I need you to keep an eye on her, twenty-four hours and I want a recorded detail of her every movement. Okay? Report to me when you've done all this."
"come on Harry, who is she and why so interested in her?"
"she could be my next ticket to billions. and a bigger pay check for you." I said winking at my assistant, he would never say no to a bigger paycheck. He sighed knowing that I knew that he wouldn't back down,
"fine, send the picture to me, I'll have them run a database on her and I'll let you know the outcome. Before I forget, you're the trending hashtag on twitter and **, hashtag Harry gets insulted, and your lady fans aren't taking it easy, they're trolling whoever that lady is. Who is she anyways?"
"the lady you're about to run a database on, now do that fast, as you know, I don't have much time on my hand."
"did Roman say he'd be able to help you out?"
"Roman says it's a matter of the heart, therefore he cannot lift a finger,"
"I feel for you man, is that..." I nodded my head at his intended question before he could complete it, "I'll have them look into it right away."
"I need details on her asap. No delay."
"but there's one question I have for you Harry,"
"which is?"
"how sure are you she really is the one? You seem down right certain about her,"
"it's just a gut feeling,"
"you have a limited amount of time to be dwelling on gut feelings, you need more than gut feeling to set things right."
"leave that to me and do what is required of you."
"if you say so." he left me in the room to my thoughts as I prepared for the first agenda of the day. I really have a feeling she's the one. She's the one for sure."
"my my, a little birdie tells me you're up to something young man," Roman said after appearing from the walls scaring the hell out of me, having me clutch my chest.
"Roman!!! Bruhh, don't do that again, you always scare the hell out of me." he smiled as he sat on the mahogany table in the office, playing with the vase sitting on it,
"so, care to tell me what's going on?"
"what are you doing here anyways? Thought you have no business with humans,"
"and you're half a vampire, and half human, for now, so you're my main concern."
"what did James tell you?"
"enough to bring me all the way down here"
"there's nothing to worry about,"
"there is. You're heart is still as cold as ice and as hard as a rock, you've lost your touch with humanity, whoever that lady is, you will not be able to treat her right...."
"what do you expect me to do when I have just four months left, and there's the pressure for a new script..."
"I can already sense the selfishness in your tone. Do not go further."
"you have no right to stop me."
"I will not stop you. I chose not to, you have made up your mind already so I won't. Be careful out there us all I can say, you're toying with two very important lives,"
"I never asked to be this way Roman, I would have been better off dead."
"you have potential."
"and what potential is it Roman? what exactly is it that you have not been able to say from the onset? What purpose do you need me for? huh?"
"when the time is right Harry, you will find out. For now, take care of yourself." he said and vanished into thin air before I could counter him,
"damn you Roman!!" i screamed at the door slapping my hand on the table. Till today, I have no idea what my purpose is and he's not ready to tell me, why he wouldn't say a damn word, I have no clue, but I'm so ready to find out,
