Time and again, some members of the human race have to disentangle themselves from their loved ones to show them how much they love them.
Sometimes, some humans turn out to be unlucky as they tend to fall in love with those who don’t love them leaving an indescribable feeling in their hearts.
Also, there are some people whose heart gets broken and shattered regularly as if it is the status quo of their life.
Unfortunately, I belong to this group. My name is Gianna Barlowe, 21 years of existence, a lady with an average height of five feet four inches, brown curly hair with a brown eyes.
Maybe a bit of exaggeration is involved, my heart had been stabbed half times my age. I live alone enjoying a bit of freedom on my own but you know, when nobody wakes you up in the morning, nobody waits for you at night and you can do whatever you want, is it called freedom or loneliness? Well, that’s a line from one of my favorite, Charles Bukowski.
My mom lives in a psychiatric hospital. As a patient though. Dad died in a terrible accident five years ago. It must have been so hard for him as he was crushed by a truck throwing my mother into a state of mental imbalance and that explains why she stays in a psychiatric hospital.
My younger brother, George Barlowe lives with our aunt in Canada, and of course, he schools there.
Also, another important piece of information you need to know about me is, that I do not have a job. I've gotten rejected many times that I feel like a repulsive element lies in my face. I have an oval petite face though with almond-shaped eyes and a petite nose. Perfection, I would say but it seems more like repulsive, reasons unknown.
“Annie, are you in?” Gianna's best friend, Elizabeth asked as she gently placed knocks on the door.
“I’m coming!” Gianna screamed from within. She was just getting up or maybe, she got up a few seconds before then. Elizabeth smiled, she knew her friend too well.
“Lizzy!” Gianna smiled and opened her arms wide for a hug.
“It isn't time for you to start your day?” Elizabeth ignored the hug and got in instead.
“Lizzy!” Gianna screamed.
“What?” Elizabeth questioned and looked back at Gianna. She still had her arms open.
“You dummy” Elizabeth walked back to her and hugged her.
“Are you happy now?” Elizabeth questioned looking at Gianna. Gianna smiled in response.
“It isn't time for you to….”
“What day? Like there’s need for me rising” Gianna scoffed.
“Gianna, stop acting this way”
“What way? I wake up each day to find a job but I get none. Instead, I get questions like ‘Why do you stay alone?’ ‘Are you sure you are even up to eighteen years ?’ ‘You are too feeble, a young lad like you should still be under her mother, no one can give you a job' and other negative comments."Her facial expression bore her mind.
She looked at Elizabeth and Elizabeth shook her head in pity. She knew what Gianna had gone through.
" Why? Because of my petite physique. How is this my fault? Well, for now, I have decided to refuse to be an object of ridicule hence, I have decided to stay in for a while” She walked up to the bathroom and grabbed her brush alongside a toothpaste.
Elizabeth shook her head “Well, I have a piece of information for you”
“Spill” Gianna answered in the bathroom, with her brush in her mouth.
"Hold on!" She hurriedly ran back to the living room and grabbed her phone.
"What is the matter?" Elizabeth's eyes traced Gianna as she moved around like she had missed something.
Gianna looked at Elizabeth in surprise.
"I have a job appointment slated for today" She gasped.
"What!"
