“How did today turn out for you, your first day at our company?” He questioned, concentrating on the road.
“Stressful is just an understatement but I guess I would get accustomed to it” She smiled.
“One thing I don’t understand is Ethan’s dramatic change. One minute, he is cool. The next minute, he turns aggressive. He acts like two completely different people. Like a protagonist and antagonist at intervals” She shook her head. “Turn to the left” She ordered.
“Ethan” Simon chuckled. “No one understands him”
“He is mysterious.”
“True”.
They became quiet again and concentrated on the journey. She directed Simon.
“Here. This is my house” She pointed and signaled to Simon to stop.
“Thank you. Goodnight” She smiled at him and alighted.
“Go in. I'll watch you go in” He smiled at her.
“Do you want to come in for a drink?”
“No thanks. My mother would get too worried if I don’t arrive in time”
“What! A grown up like you? Your mother still watches over you?” She giggled.
“Yes she does” He smiled, a bit embarrassed.
“That’s nice” She smiled again, before walking in. After watching her get in, Simon drove off.
“Oh my!” She collapsed into a chair. She took a short nap, before making dinner. Just like her stomach knew, it growled hungrily. She rubbed her stomach before settling to have dinner. She was so tired. She picked her phone and dialed Elizabeth’s number.
“Hey, Annie. I am sorry I did not call back. It skipped my mind” Elizabeth pleaded over the phone.
“Sure, cause I am not important to you”
“No, don’t talk like that Gianna. I'm sorry. Fred has an important event and as you know, as his P.A, I have to do everything possible to get everything in order” She pleaded.
“Are you home yet?”
“Yes, I just did. My car broke down”
“Sorry” She pleaded.
“It’s fine. How was your first day at work?”
“T’was cool but stressful.”
“Really? Was Ethan as arrogant as you thought?” Elizabeth asked.
“Well” Gianna jumped on her bed. “I can’t say yet. At first, he was all nice, caring, benevolent. The next minute, he was aggressive, rude and annoying. He switched between the two different personalities throughout my stay there today so I really can’t say.” She curled her hair.
“Fred acts like that sometimes too. With time, you would get accustomed to it” She smiled.
“I hope so. One thing I can’t get accustomed to is his girlfriend’s arrogance and her uncultured attitude”
“His girlfriend? That model?” Elizabeth questioned curiously.
“Yes. Right in front of me, she shamelessly began seducing him. She began unbuttoning his shirt right in front of me. If I hadn’t tried to leave, they might have gotten down to business right in front of me. She also instructed me to carry her bag to her car. She has no iota of dignity in her” She explained.
“That’s so shameless” Elizabeth shook her head as if Gianna could see her.
“I need to go to sleep now. I don’t want to be late to work tomorrow like I was today” Anita yawned.
“What! You stupid! You were late today?” Elizabeth questioned.
“Well, that’s a topic for another day. Goodnight” She ended the call quickly, she didn’t want to be scolded by Elizabeth. She put off her light and went to bed.
