“I'm sorry Elizabeth. I am sorry for walking you out of my house. I'm sorry” She pleaded and held Elizabeth's hand again.
This time, Elizabeth did not snatch her hands. She simply looked up at her.
“I’m sorry” She pleaded again.
“It’s fine. All you need to do is stop being irresponsible” She shrugged.
“What!!”
“What?”
“I am not irresponsible! “ Gianna tried to hold her anger.
Elizabeth scoffed “You and I both know how irresponsible you are”
“Stop saying that! Stop calling me that!” Gianna yelled.
“Stop saying what? The truth? The truth is bitter, you know? You don’t need to raise your voice at me though. If you came from your apartment to mine, just to fight me then you should leave this very minute” Elizabeth enunciated calmly.
“Okay, I'm sorry Betty. I'm sorry.”
“You always are, it’s fine though”
“So.. What do I need to know about the job offer?” She moved closer to Elizabeth.
“The one you walked me out of your house for, you say?”
“Beth, can we put that behind us please?” Gianna pleaded. Elizabeth stared at her for a while.
“Well, I overheard his conversation with Fred. I quickly chipped in and told Fred about you. Since Fred trusts me as well as my judgments, he believed me and recommended you to Ethan.
The bottom line, there is an interview at 8 am tomorrow owing to the fact; that tomorrow is Monday.
Also, the probability of you getting the job is 90% as Fred is involved” Elizabeth explained.
“Oh Lizzy, you are ao sweet” She wrapped her hands around Elizabeth’s neck. Elizabeth smiled in return. “Wait” She released her hold. “8 am tomorrow?”
“Of course. Do you have a problem with that?”
“Of course not” She smiled and rubbed her hair. Of course, she had a lot of problems with it. The earliest she could wake up was 9 am. She thought deep within about what could make her wake up that early.
I will leave now, goodbye Liz”
“Goodbye,” Lizzy waved at her.

“Oh s**t!” Gianna hurriedly flew up from her bed. It was 8:05 am yet she was still on her bed. She got up and rushed to the bathroom. She brushed her teeth and ran into the shower. She checked the time again, it was 8:55 am.
“No, no, no!” She hurriedly grabbed suitable office wear; a turquoise blue shirt and brown skirt. She threw it on quickly and grabbed a matching brown shoe and a brown bag. She sprayed some perfume.
She sighed on checking the time; it was 9:30 am already. All hope seemed lost. She, however, hoped in her heart she would get the job. She took a cab and arrived at ASTEROID TECHNOLOGIES; a renowned IT company.
“Dad, make this job mine” She prayed within and entered.
“Hello” She smiled at the receptionist.
“Hello, how can I help you?” The receptionist smiled back.
“I am here for the interview”
“What interview?” The receptionist was puzzled.
“The interview for the position of a P.A.”
“The time was slated for 8 am.” The receptionist checked the time “It is 9:40 am now”.
“I'm sorry. “ Gianna pleaded.
“Number 51. The interview is taking place on the second floor “ She eyed Gianna.
“Thank you” She hurriedly ran into the elevator. The receptionist shook her head in disappointment.
No 51? Gianna thought in her head. This job cannot be hers. No, Lizzy already assured her. She shook her head to discard the negative thoughts. She arrived on the second floor. Gianna was stunned at the sight of the applicants she met.
For a while, she stood there, contemplating if to stay or leave. She decided to do the former. She carefully sat, just like other contestants waiting to be called. All eyes turned to her.
They gossiped about her; probably because she just arrived. Amidst the talk, a man came out to them. They all maintained decorum.
“We are sorry everyone to have taken your time, the interview is no longer going to hold. We are sorry for the inconveniences, we promise to compensate you all” He pleaded to them.
As expected, murmurs began. The atmosphere became chaotic. It however became came when the CEO; Ethan O. Robbins came out of his office.
“I am so sorry for the inconvenience. Like he said” He pointed to the man who came to address them “We will compensate you all” He smiled as he whispered some words to the man who addressed the applicants.
The man in turn went in and brought out a bag and began distributing the money to the people, leaving them all in awe.
The shock was an understatement for how they felt. They distributed the money to all but Gianna.
“You all can leave now” He smiled. They bowed their hand in appreciation and left. Gianna stood up disappointed.
“Gianna Barlowe, in my office” Ethan instructed and walked in, into his office.
