CHAPTER 1: The Incident
Hi, I'm Everett. I'm 8. I have dark brown hair, I have ADHD, My favorite state is Tennessee (But I live in Virginia), I'm not really what you would call a ‘normal kid’, like, at all. It all started last month while we were having a class project on wild animals. You know the kind, like we had to find pics on the internet and write about the animals and their habitats and all that boring crap. But me and my best friends Annie, Mason, And Zayne thought we could each get extra credit if we took the pictures of the animals ourselves in the nearby forest. We needed it, because our science grades were sitting at D-’s and we would definitely get grounded if we fail this project. Pretty bad right? Anyways…
“And we're sure this will earn us better grades?” asked Mason. “Yeah, I think.” I replied.
That night, our parents dropped us off at the local forest. We each individually snapped photo after photo of the animals we needed; spider, centipede, butterfly, and mine, a fox. ( This is ironic later in the story). We’re swiftly on our way back when we see something unfamiliar in the sky. “Hey guys, look at that strange green star!” exclaimed Zayne. “Um, stars aren't green, I think it's just our eyes tricking us.” Annie immediately corrected Zayne.
“Uhm not to burst your bubble or anything but, why is it getting bigger?” I pointed out. “It's not getting bigger, it's…getting…closer! THAT IS NOT A STAR!” Mason warned. “RUN!!!” we all shouted as we ran for our lives. “WHAT IS THAT THING!?!?” I screamed like a baby.
It got too close to run away from. I used Annie's phone to snap a closeup picture of whatever it was and it looked like a bomb. A rocket with weird canisters attached to the sides, they held a sort of green ooze inside. On the rocket read two words, ‘Cobblestone Industries’. “Wait, does this have to do with that John Cobblestone guy?” Zayne asked. “Who knows?” just as Annie spoke, the shell hit. We woke up just fine around ten minutes later.
“I-wh-a-hu-WHAT JUST HAPPENED?!?!?!?” I shouted. Apparently we were too far away for anyone to see that happen. And so we each ran to the car as fast as we could. “MOM THE CRAZIEST THING JU-” “He had a blast.” I interrupted Mason. “We can’t tell anyone about this.” I said. “Our parents would go insane.” The next day we discussed the situation at lunch.
