4. Unsettled feelings

"Care to explain." A very calm and deep voice echoed in the office room and Abigail looked at Elijah confusedly. "Hmm what? I didn't understand sir?" "What did you say to Bella yesterday? " All the color washed off from her face the moment she heard that statement. She got impulsive yesterday after Elijah left the table and the fact that he is engaged to Bella, that thing she cant digest and said those things to her . But she now knew she f****d up. "What did I tell you last time about the s**t that happened that unfortunate night?" her eyes got teary after hearing the thing Elijah said that night was the best night for her. Yes, she knew that she was doing wrong, but isn't it said that everything is fair in love and war, but she knows now what is coming for her and she didn't want that "She is lying to you. I didn't say anything to her." "I didn't say she said something to me." "I love you" she shouted, "and I already told you that I don't have any feelings for you" "But we can at least try" " I don't want to" "Why? I was with you for the last 4 years, didn't you look at me in that way even for a second?" "NO" and that's it. She broke down in tears. "When you love someone you should know how to respect that person's choices. You don't take advantage of their vulnerable state." "I didn't. " "Yes you did. You knew, I had an argument with my father. You knew, I was at that bar. You knew I was so drunk that I couldn't even walk, and you decided to show up that time. I asked you to take me home. Instead of that, you took me to your apartment and " Her head was down in shame. "I want you to apply for resignation and leave the job on your own because you, did a really great job for the last 4 years." She shook her head, "No, if you want, I can appealozise to her but don't tell me to leave" she cried out Elijah was feeling sad for her but its needed to be done he shouldhave done this the next day of that incident but he thought she will behave professional but instead of that she is creating problems for her. "ok then let me filed complain against you and blocklisted you from every industry."

It's been a week since you last met Elijah. After he left the room, he didn't even wait for dinner. He left maybe for the office to do his nasty work. You try to convince yourself the whole week that it's okay, but how could it be? Now you are imagining yourself in a new home with your so-called husband, waiting for him to come home, but instead he will be f*****g his secretary in his office. You read enough stories about this kind of absurd husband who just doesn't know how to be faithful and loyal to his wife and you will get one of that kind. You are coming out of college while hating your life more, but your attention is diverted by some murmuring which is hearable in the field front of college. You try to see what is happening. " What's going on", Gabi said from behind, and stood beside you. That is another case where you feel irritated by Gabi, because after the second day, wherever you go she wants to go with you, always talking and asking things you don't know or don't want to talk about. And the worst thing is she always drags Elijah in between everything, which makes you want to hit her. "OMG" Gabi kind of whispered, shouted and looked ahead. You followed her eyes and see Elijah, standing on the other side of the road leaning on his car. You instantly knew that he had come for you because he was looking at you. You took a step toward him and Gabi instantly held your hand and started walking with you. You stopped the moment you realized it and looked at her. "Hmm Gabi, can you please excuse me, I need to go " " Did you forget we decided to go together ?" she asked cheerfully while looking at Elijah.. Like what the f**k, now you are getting pissed. " Yes, but now that Elijah is here I have to leave with him." "Yeah, I will come with you both" she said again, without looking at you. You wanted to grab your hair but whatever it's not like, you wanted to spend some quality time with him.

"Hello", Gabi said so sweetly that it made you want to gag and looked at her. " Hi", Elijah said normally and looked at you. " Let's go, we have to go somewhere." And try to hold your hand, but you smoothly lift that hand. which one he tries to held and tuck your hair behind your ear that makes Elijah immidetly greet his teeth. "im also coming with you guys" Gabi said grabbing Elijah attention he lift his one eyebrow in confusion which make Gabi a little emmbaressed "Hmm Bella actually promised me to go home together" you looked at her somehow shocked you didn't said anything like that but Elijha was now getting annoyed he came here to take you somewhere so he can clear the miss understanding but things is not going his way. "we are going somewhere private for some personal work my driver will drop you home." Gab's face looked like she is dispointed but what can she do. she just nodded and go to the other car that was behind Elijah without looking at you and you decide to make some distance with her because she is not giving you good vibes.

" Did you get to know about the engagement date?" Ejijah asked you. After starting the car, you give a little no as an answer. "Where are we going? You didn't inform me that you were coming today"."I have been a little busy for the last few days with something. That is why, I didn't have time to come to meet you." Yes, you both decided on the very first day that you'd try to meet each other so you could both get comfortable with each other, but on the second day, what happened is just turned your every plan in a different direction. "Where we are going btw." You asked again. "My house" he just said that so casually that its nothing for him and here you are start to get nervous more and more. "i don't think we need to go to your home" you said it so bitterly that Elijah wants to stop the car and through you out of the car the thought was tempting but he choose to be silent. "Elijah we don't need to work on the things we decide on the first day because i don't want to work on this s**t anymore." this just make him stop the car and looked at you in the eyes you divert your eyes in the front. "So how gonna we do it." he asked you like he was going to burst anytime soon. "We don't have to do anything you live your life i will be living my i was agreed to every thing because i thought you were genuine i thought i can have better life with you but you are as f****d up as my parents what you want from me to be a nice wife and try to work out every thing when on the other hand you would be f*****g around." your eyes turn teary you looks desperate you are tired of being alone you didn't seen your parents after that night too its just feels so lonely elijahs eyes got soften when he see the tears in your eyes he doesn't know what are you talking about he looked at your side face you looked so beautiful but so sad at the same time he wants to do something so bad for making you cry but he can't do anything he try to hold your hand but you jerked it off he massage his head being frustrated "whould you like to listen me for once. You are crying over nothing." he said softly, yet you could feel he was getting angry. "Crying over nothing, what the hell Elijah, you told me we would work it out. You told me, Elijah, I thought we could work it out. I thought we could...." before you said anything more, Elijah grabbed your face in one hand quite like squeezing your cheeks, not so hard but not so soft also. "Stop it just stop it Bella. You will get sick if you continue to cry like this and don't stress yourself.. Let me speak now, are you?" You looked at him in a way you don't even know what that feeling. definitely not love. It can't be. Maybe you liked the thought of a new life and he is the hope. "You are really beautiful, so beautiful" he said while wiping your tears. He looked at your lips and you were getting nervous. "I have nothing to do with Abigail and never had." With that he kissed you. Yes, he kissed you and, take your breath away, you just let him do that. You close your eyes and let your tears fall. You don't know what to do. He is the first man who touches you this way will be your husband. You feel good after hearing that he has nothing to do with Abigail. Maybe god gives you a second chance.

There was a whole different feeling than he had ever felt. He kissed so many girls and did more than that, but little no tongue, no lust. Just a simple kiss makes him go crazy, but when he feels that you are not moving your lips, he opens his eyes and sees your eyes closed. He stopped moving his lips. Did he just kiss you without asking for permission? s**t. He pulled a little but without your knowledge, your lips chased his and he instantly connected them and mumbled on your lips "kiss me back". You opened your eyes. You looked so vulnerable. "I don't know how." You wished ever so softly that he lost it and, grabbing your head gently from your back, he started kissing you more wildly then before, but still it feels so soft. "Open your mouth." he said in a way like he is in hurry you did what you told and that it you moan in his mouth when he entered his tongue you try to move your lips but he take your both lips in his mouth with his tongue inside your mouth and press your face to him. You both just feel each other. You try to take breath into his mouth but you can't take it and try to wiggle. He understands and leaves your mouth but doesn't get too far. You can feel his breath, with a last smooch. He backed away and looked at you. You looked down and the realization that he was your first kiss made him want to kiss you more, maybe till you even forgot your name. He raised his hand and caressed your cheeks. "I was drunk one night because I had an argument with my father over something and Abigail knew that she had come to the club I was drinking. I was so drunk that I couldn't even see. Probably, when she offered me a lift, I accepted but she took me to her apartment instead of mine. She kind of took advantage of me, but can't put the blame on her wholly. I'm sorry if this thing upset you, but when I said I don't have anyone, that was true. In fact, I never had anyone. The kiss we shared previously was not my first kiss like yours. I'm no saint. I slept with many, but there was no commitment, no emotion and no strings attached to anyone. You may not be my first, but I'll make sure you will be my last and I'll also make sure to be your not only first and also last." he said, and you, listened to him while looking in front. You don't know what to feel. " Want to try again" you looked at him and nodded slowly " I'm sorry. I should have asked you before judging you." you looked down in shame. After almost one minute of silence, you looked at him and found him already looking at you and suddenly he again leaned and captured your lips for a breath-taking kiss.
