Chapter 4 - Birthday

TIFFANY

“Mate” he said in a low growl

I instantly shivered at the sound. Does he mean me? How can I be his mate? We’ve only met once and I have a boyfriend, how can this happen? What am I supposed to do?

I get up frantically and start backing away, he notices and starts moving towards me.

“Stay there” I say and he obliges.

“You smell amazing little wolf” he says seductively sending shivers down my body.

I stand there for what seems like hours just staring into his eyes and he mine. I don’t make an effort to move as of yet.

“You’re soon to be alpha though, how can someone like me be your mate?, I’m not strong” I say looking to the ground

Before I know it he’s standing in front of me forcing me to look at him with his powerful aura.

I try my hardest to object looking at him because I feel as if I will crumble at his feet by looking into his beautiful blue eyes.

“Look at me” he says with a hint of anger in his voice.

I slowly lift my head

“If you’re going to reject me please just do it now, I don’t want to wait until tomorrow for my birthday to see if you’re my mate and to be rejected. Plus I have a boyfriend already and I am sure he will be my mate”

He slammed his lips onto mine aggressively taking dominance immediately, he bit the bottom of my lip to gain entrance to my mouth and I moaned into his lips which only turned him on more by the sound of the growl emitting from his chest.

He suddenly pulled away and I was immediately cold by the loss of contact.

“Wow” is all that I could say

“Yeah” he said breathlessly.

“You are gorgeous, and I would never think about rejecting you no matter where you come from. It is my mother who thinks I should have someone for power, but I can not bring my self to reject my mate for it. You are mine and mine alone” he sweetly replied , and it made me warm inside.

“who is this boyfriend you speak of” his demeanour quickly changed.

My face dropped

“No one of your concern, we’ve been together for 4 years and I love him, he is my mate, you will see tomorrow”

He clearly did not like my reply as he dropped his arms and clenched his fists and ran back into the woods and shifted mid air

I let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding.

THEODORE

“No one of your concern, we’ve been together for 4 years and I love him, he is my mate, you will see tomorrow” she said so boldly

Anger shot through me and I had to get out of there before I said something I regret. The moment I laid eyes on her and got a whiff of her scent I wanted to mark her. This is not how I imagined her to react. And I certainly wasn’t expecting her to have a boyfriend.

That will have to change.

I had been running for quiet a while now blowing off steam and made my way back to the pack house. I shifted and changed beside a tree and was about to walk towards the house when I caught her scent and turned quickly trying to find her.

My eyes landed on her dark brown curly hair descending down her back. But what caught my eyes only angered me more and I could feel the anger radiating off of me.

Before I stormed towards her I wanted to know what was going on so i decided to listen.

“Where have you been all morning?” This boy asked her, too aggressively if you ask me

“I was .. somewhere, I don’t see why it is a problem, why are you acting this way Matt?”

Matt? Hmm, must be the boyfriend I thought to my self.

“I’m sorry I don’t mean to be so angry, just we hardly ever spend time together” he said, I could laugh at how stupid he sounded.

He then took her hand and starting stroking his thumb along her hand

“He better get hands off mate” Gavin said growling

“I was thinking the same thing, but shh i am trying to listen”

TIFFANY

He grabbed my hand so sweetly and I felt kind of guilty and I don’t feel the same way I do when Theo touches me.. I know I should tell him before he finds out from anyone else.

Matt must have saw me fighting with my self as he asked

“What’s wrong beautiful”

“I have you tell you something” I said quietly. He squeezed my hand gently urging me to continue.

“It’s my birthday tomorrow and I will find out my mate” I said looking at the ground.

Yes I am a coward and hate eye contact

“I know that” he said with a low laugh

I continued to look at the ground and took a deep shaky breath before replying

“I kissed someone else..”

we stood in silence for at least a couple of minutes before he registered what I had said and dropped my hand. I looked up slowly to see him looking At me confused, but most of all very angry as I could feel it coming off of him. I took a step back.

“Please don’t be angry” i told him

“Don’t be angry?, Tiff we have been together for 4 years and you’re still a virgin, I have been waiting and waiting and all I got was a kiss” he was seething in anger now

I was quite shocked by his reply as he always told me he was okay with waiting until we found out we were mates, it only made me step back further away from him.

“It took me 2 months to get a kiss from you and he got it in what? 3 minutes” He was staring deep into my eyes and continued

“Who is it”

I ignored him for a while as I couldn’t just tell him who it was. Theo was huge compared to Matt plus he is an Alpha and is already strong.

“I can’t tell you Matt”

He took a step closer to me and I was instantly pulled behind a big wall of muscle. I would have lost my balance if it wasn’t for me holding onto his arm.

Matt stopped in his tracked and looked straight at Theo

THEODORE

“Don’t be angry?, Tiff we have been together for 4 years and you’re still a virgin, I have been waiting and waiting and all I got was a kiss” excuse me? Is that all he thinks about? Is that how he is going to treat her.

Anger was boiling up in side! I could see the hurt on her face as soon as those words left his horrid mouth.

He started moving closer to her and I moved out of the tree line and was in front of her in a flash pushing her behind me. I didn’t realise how hard I had pushed her until she was grabbing onto my trying to get her balance.

Matt stared at me for a second.

“I’m sorry alpha, nothing is going on here just trying to sort out a problem with my girlfriend” he said timidly

“I am well aware of your problem Matt as I am her mate” I said sarcastically.

Tiffany stiffened at my words and I could instantly hear her heart thumping against het chest.

I drew my attention back to Matt and he was fuming. He stared at Tiffany and then back at me and I thought for second he was going to challenge me due to the vein nearly popping out of his head. I laughed internally.

He turned around to compose him self before walking closer to us. I pushed Tiffany more behind me which resulted in him stopping inches away. I growled at him which made him stop in his tracks.

“You will regret this” he said while turning and running around towards the tree line and shifting

TIFFANY

I just stood there. Unable to comprehend what had just happened before my eyes. Matt had never acted that way before nor had he commented on his lack of s****l activity with me.

I hadn’t realised I had moved until I ended up in a bedroom which was definitely not mine. I snapped out of my shock trance and started panicking and looking around.

There he was again. In front of my as quickly as lightening holding my face between his hands to calm me down. Somehow it worked and I let out a shaky breathe.

“I’m sorry” I voiced out

“Don’t you be sorry, this is not your fault. The moon goddess paired us for a reason and I am willing to find out that reason” he said with so much compassion.

I didn’t even reply to him. I just sat on the end of his bed playing with my fingers.

“Get some sleep, it’s a big day tomorrow”

I looked up at him with wide eyes and he must have realised my panic as he quickly explained that he was not lying next to me

“Don’t worry little wolf I won’t be sleeping next to you” He uttered seductively with his sexy grin

Like the awkward person I am I blushed and put my head down quickly. Why does this man have this affect on me?

He chuckled and I swear it was the sexiest sound I have ever heard.

“I am sleeping on the sofa tonight, goodnight little wolf, sweet dreams”

And with that, I was asleep within seconds.

THE NEXT MORNING

That was definitely the best sleep I have ever had, I had this certain warmth around me which I have never felt before and it was the best slumber. I hadn’t yet opened my eyes but I was aware.

I was then hit with the most amazing smell of cinnamon and a forest scent and I jolted up making him panic and look at me. He must have been awake for quiet a while as there is no sleep evident.

I stared at him a while before talking to him and the one thing that left my mouth shocked me but excited me

“Mate”

The grin that left his mouth showing his gorgeous white teeth showing and his cute dimples made me week at my knees. Good job I was already sitting.

THEODORE

She woke up and I was so happy to hear that I was her mate. The way she said mate made me hard. I could have jumped her right there and marked her. I can’t believe I was feeling this strongly towards her within a day of knowing we were mates.

I knew the mate bond was strong as I have heard stories but I never realised it was this powerful.

I gazed at her and she me. Her eyes were travelling up and down my body and I could feel her attraction towards me within an instant but I wasn’t about to just give her what she wanted, I wanted to get to know her first and I’m sure she would as well due to her still being a virgin.

I to am a virgin and I’m happy that she is as well.
