“Can you even kiss?” In the dimly lit room, the man’s annoyed, low and hoarse voice was like a strong alcohol lingering in her ear which made her go insanely crazy. Anastasia’s body tightened, her consciousness was gradually fading and blurred:” Stop…” This word escaped her pale lips. All her struggles were in vain as she was firmly held by the man’s big hand, and they seemed like to be triggering something within this man. His kisses fell on her forehead and cheeks, one after another, and as the time increased they became fierce, deepening the kisses little by little without giving her a chance to resist his advances. Anastasia felt like she was drowning in the deep sea, about to suffocate. At the critical moment, he let go a bit. “Seriously, you are an amateur learning to catch your breath.” She found a chance to escape, but the next moment, the man grabbed her hand and held it tightly, rendering all her trials futile. “I think you can escape that easily, huh darling”, the man’s low voice was full of danger and a red warning sign flashed before the girl’s eyes. The hot breath sprayed on her neck, and she trembled all over. She could still smell a strong scent of tobacco from the man. She looked up and bumped into his deep and sparkling eyes, which seemed to be endless and deep enough to engulf her. Whilst looking at her, she was surprised and murmured subconsciously,” Adam Peterson.” The man listened to her voice, and a faint redness appeared at the corner of his eyes. He seemed like a beast released from its trap, suddenly he lost control. He tightly held her waist, lowered his head, and tore her collar. She felt like there was nowhere to hide, no way to retreat. The suffocating feeling almost made her faint. Everything became dark around her suddenly. In just a flick of a nanosecond, the temperature in the room rose… In the end, she completely lost consciousness. Anastasia woke up, the sky was already turning light with the golden color painting the horizon. When she rubbed her sore forehead and slowly sat up, her limbs felt as if they had been crushed, causing her to frown in pain. She turned her head and saw the cruel cold sleeping face of Adam next to her ,her pupils suddenly dilated and her breath caught. Memories of the previous night came like a heavy flood . The previous day after a threatening life situation when she saved that mysterious man she heard that her younger sister had caused an accident and fled the scene,so she hurriedly rushed back home.After that ,she drank a glass of water given to her by her stepmother and then passed out only to wake up in this room. In her hazy consciousness,she saw her arranged fiance Adam, who was the proud son of heaven and heir of the first wealthy family, the Peterson family,and a very powerful figure in the business world known for his ruthless methods. She thought it was a dream,but it turned out to be reality. She and Adam were engaged through a family alliance , and they had been betrothed since childhood but he always claimed that he would never touch her because he said she was too fat and shapeless. This is what she knew about him and the rest was still a mystery to her because they had only met at a few intervals when her grandparents took her to visit his grandparents. She had thought that after they had got married ,they will respect each other and complete the family arrangements and maybe cultivate their feeling for each other,but she never thought that they would end up like this,directly taking the final step. She didn’t understand why her stepmother had drugged her and let her enter the bridal chamber with him ahead of schedule,knowing that she would eventually marry him. In a panic mode, Anastasia grabbed the clothes next to her and quickly put them on while he was still sound asleep.She then fled the room. After Anastasia had left ,she gently closed the door and on the bed inside the room Adam's eyelashes trembled slightly. Anastasia rushed back home as fast as she could. Lady Judy hurriedly greeted her as she arrived home which was suspicious. Before she could interrogate her for what she did,Lady Judy beat her down to it, “Ana ,how could you be so foolish?” She looked pained and anxious both at the same time. This made Ana frown, “Mom ,what are you talking about am blank?shouldn’t it be me asking you why you drugged me last night…..” Lady Judy seemed to have long practised the script and she interrupted her with a pained expression,”Last night ,you pushed someone of the top floor of the hotel and run insisting that your fiancee will help you escape the charges.Now listen child this country is governed by law and no one escapes it so better turn yourself in.Maybe you will get a lighter sentence”. Anastasia was shocked .She remembered that it was her sister Annabelle who caused the accident and run away,and the glass of water from last night….. All the pieces came together ,and in an instant, she felt a chill run down her spine,her blood turning cold. She could hardly believe it,and it took her a while to speak,”Are you asking me to take blame for Annabelle? Do you think Adam will help me because of our relationship?This is truly ridiculous!” “running away whilst you are the criminal is a serious charge , and it depends on the condition of the victim.I wont take the blame for her !” She found it hard to believe that the stepmother who had always treated her like her own daughter,would do such a thing to her maybe all that affection was fake only for her father to see now that he is in a vegetable state they plan to get rid of her for the sake of her daughter. Lady Judy looked incredulous. “Anastasia,what are you talking about?It was clearly you who pushed that poor woman to her death.Why are you trying to implicate your sister?” Only then did Anastasia understand.Lady Judy was determined to make her take the blame for Annabelle,using her trust in them both to set a trap for her. wasn’t this just wishful thinking? Could such a thing be established by them simply reversing right and wrong? She was filled with anger . “What are you people thinking?What about Annabelle?Let her come out and go with me to the police station to clear this up”. Just then , a police car pulled up outside. Two police officers got out of the car and walked up to Anastasia.They said coldly ,”Miss Grey ,you are suspected of pushing Mrs.Barbara Brown from the fifth floor of the Grey hotel causing her death.We are arresting you in accordance with the law.You have the right to remain silent and anything you say can and would be used against you in the court of law.Come with us”. Anastasia was suddenly stunned ,her face turning ashen,her mind buzzing,and she stumbled backwards. Aunt Barbara….. The person whom Annabelle had pushed to her death was Adam’s mother. If this charge was established ,she and Adam would not only be unable to get married,but would also become mortal enemies who had killed each other’s mothers! They had even shared an intimate relation last night. She could not let this pair of venomous mother and daughter succeed.She immediately denied it . “Officers they might be a mistake but it was not me ,Its not me! I didn’t do it!” The police officers said coldly,’Your fingerprints were found on the handbag at the scene of the crime,as well as a platinum necklace that belongs to you.The evidence is conclusive .Do you still want to deny it ?” Anastasia looked at Lady Judy in disbelief,seeing the relieved smile in her eyes. There was no accident at all.It was all planned by Lady Judy and Annabelle .They had carefully orchestrated a deadly trap for her. She couldn’t resist and was taken away by the police. As she turned her head,she saw Annabelle,with delicate makeup,walking down the stairs from the second floor.When their eyes met,Annabelle mouth curved into a victorious smile,as if saying, “sister ,enjoy the long vacation!” After the police officers had taken Anastasia away,Lady Judy looked at Annabelle with some concern. “Bell, do you think this will work?” Annabelle's expression was ruthless beyond her years. “Don’t worry, I deliberately smeared blood on her clothes in an inconspicuous place last night.It will definitely be discovered by the police, and with the items left at the scene of the accident,she is doomed!” Only by killing the mother of Adam and framing Anastasia could she have a chance to marry the formidable Adam Peterson instead of her fat sister. Otherwise ,she would never be able to step into the door of the Peterson family in this lifetime! Lady Judy nodded and said no more pertaining the issue. Grandfather Grey had a debt of gratitude to Adam’s grandfather and had arranged for their marriage in their early years. If they were to find anyone to blame it would be Anastasia for blocking her happiness! ….…… One month later. In court, Anastasia was sentenced to life imprisonment for intentional murder. She was sent to hospital and suddenly felt nauseous and dizzy, unable to stand steady and fainted. Soon, a prison guard called a doctor to examine her. Suppressing all her emotions, Anastasia calmly asked ,” Doctor, what's wrong with me ?” The doctor’s face turned serious as he said, “Anastasia ,you're pregnant.”
