Song Recommendation: better by Khalid
Over the years Gentlemen have mastered the subtle art of Surprises, Dukes have never relinquished their mastery in said art!
“You still haven’t mentioned where we are headed” she asked him. Her eyes twinkling with excitement. She looked out the window as the carriage sped passed trees, taking them farther and farther from the town.
“You’ll see” he replied her, watching her, his head c****d to the side, when she had stepped out in the red silk he had almost lead her to his chambers rather than out the front door. She looked exquisite. Perfect. Beautiful. Even with the bruise on her cheek. She was the most beautiful person he had ever known. The gorgeous dress hugged her figure, putting every curve on display, he was aware of her, too aware. Every hitch in her breath. Every heave of her chest. Her every movement he knew, she was all the stars in the night sky. Damn the stars, she was the very moon!
When they carriage slowed signifying they had reached their destination, he jumped down without waiting for the footman and assisted her down by the waist. He almost didn’t let go.
“Where are we” she said looking around smiling wildly
“Come” he offered his hand and led her to the door of the well decorated building.
He led her inside, and she gasped
“Welcome to my private theatre” she looked around taken aback the beauty and splendor of the place. It was decorated richly in black and red.
“It’s beautiful” she was still examining the transcendent interior, the place every detail bringing a new smile
he took her hand and led her to a massive box. A tall glass of wine and wine glasses awaited them. They took their seats and she turned to the wide screen that looked out to a clear view of the theatre stage.
“It’s just us” she commented as they settled in.
“I value my privacy” he said, pouring her a glass of wine and handing it to her.
“I’ve never heard of such a thing as a private theatre” she sipped on the cold red liquid “but I suppose I should be too surprised that a man like yourself would have this” she shook her head smiling
“You want surprises? I can give you surprises” he smiled, then he flicked his thumb and forefinger and the lights dimmed. She watched in awe as the red curtains parted and a woman came on stage. She recognized her almost at once
“Alexandra Bradivan” she gasped almost jumping from her seat. The most famous opera soloist in all of England, in all of Europe. She knew he had all the power of ten men of means but this exceeded it. He had brought in the best voice in England to sing for her and her alone in his private theatre. Her chest constricted and started up again, Using the power of a Duke and a man to make her happy, and happy didn’t do justice to how she felt. This Duke, this man, was hers. With the spotlight on the lady on stage, she closed her eyes and opened her mouth. And all she heard was her voice, all she saw was her Duke, and in that moment nothing else mattered.
