Untitled Episode
Chapter 1
Cassandra's POV
I was frozen outside the door, stunned at the sounds that came from within. Tonight was supposed to be special—a celebration of one year since I became Luna, one year since Frankie and I were married.
I had carefully picked out my best dress, wearing the gown he once said he loved on me. In my left hand was the envelope containing news that I had hoped would bring us together. I was pregnant with our first child - what Frankie and the entire Gustavo family had always wanted.
But as I stepped through the front door, ready to surprise him, what I saw through the crack in the door that was barely opened made me stop in track.
Frankie was inside, but he was not alone. Tracy, the beautiful and arrogant daughter of Alpha Finnegan, was pressed against him, their bodies in an intimate embrace.
I had known for a while that he was smitten by her, that they were lovers. But seeing them like this—so open, so unashamed—shattered the last remnants of hope I had in our union.
Frankie’s hands trailed down Tracy’s back as he leaned in to kiss her neck. “You feel so right in my arms, Tracy,” he whispered, his voice filled with a tenderness I hadn’t heard him speak to me with. “I should have been with you from the start.”
Tracy chuckled softly, her fingers running through his hair. “I knew you would come back to me, Frankie. You always do,” she replied smugly.
My heart broke a little more with each word, the pain so intense, my whole body was left trembling.
How could he betray me like this?
Tracy’s gaze suddenly shifted to me. Her eyes narrowed as she noticed the door slightly ajar. Her smile faded as she saw me standing there. “Well, well,” she said, her tone mocking. “The failed luna has made an entrance.”
Frankie looked up, his expression hardening when he saw me. There was no guilt in his eyes, no remorse, just irritation. “What are you doing here, Cassandra?” he demanded.
I opened my mouth to speak, but the words wouldn’t come. The envelope in my hand suddenly felt heavy. I crumpled the paper as my grip tightened. I wanted to tell him about the baby, to confront him, but my voice was lost.
Tracy ’s eyes flicked to the envelope I was clutching, and her lips curled into a wicked smile. “And what’s that you’ve got there?” she asked, “A love letter? Or maybe something more pathetic?”
I instinctively tried to pull the envelope behind me, but it was too late. Tracy stepped forward, her movements quick and aggressive. “Give it here,” she ordered, trying to snatch the envelope.
“No, it’s nothing!” I cried out, but my voice was weak, trembling.
Frankie watched us, a frown on his face. “Give it to her, Cassandra,” he ordered coldly. “You’re only making a fool of yourself.”
Tracy managed to snatch the envelope from my grasp, tearing it open with a triumphant sneer. She pulled out the paper, her eyes scanning the words. For a moment, her expression was unreadable, and then she gasped, stunned.
“What is it?” Frankie asked, his irritation quickly turning to curiosity.
Tracy handed him the paper, her voice filled with spite. “Congratulations, Frankie, You’re going to be a father.”
Frankie’s eyes scanned the document, surprise flickered across his face for a second and then he leveled me a hard stare.
He crumpled the paper in his fist, his gaze fixed on me. “Were you planning to hide this from me?” His tone was contemptuous.
I shook my head, trying to form words, to explain, but nothing came out. My heart pounded in my chest as I realized how everything was breaking before my eyes. There was nothing to celebrate, it was my day of shame.
“This doesn’t change anything,” Frankie said harshly. “Do you think a baby is going to fix this? You’re a burden, Cassandra. And that thing in you is also rejected!”
Tracy laughed softly, her hand resting possessively on his arm. “Poor thing, did you really think this would make him love you? How pathetic,” she sneered.
My vision blurred with tears. I wanted to scream, to shout at them, but I was too broken, too shattered to do anything but stand there in silence.
“I—” I finally managed to whisper, but my voice broke, the words stuck in my throat.
Tracy’s eyes were triumphant as she saw me devastated. “You should have known better, Cassandra,” her tone was cold. “Frankie was never yours. He was always mine.”
I couldn’t take it anymore. The room felt like it was closing in on me, suffocating me from all sides.
“No," I whispered and shook my head, tears streaming down my face.
Without thinking, I turned and fled, my footsteps echoing in the hallway as I ran, tears blurring my vision as I stumbled toward the staircase.
But as I reached the top step, I panicked. My foot slipped, and before I could catch myself, a sharp, forceful shove from behind sent me tumbling forward.
“Arrrghhh!" My helpless screams filled the hallway as my body slammed on step after step.
But I knew who had pushed me. Tracy’s smug, satisfied smirk was the last thing I saw before I fell.
When I finally came to a stop at the bottom, the world spun around me. Pain radiated through my body, and I could feel the warmth of blood pooling beneath me.
I tried to move, to crawl away, but my limbs wouldn’t respond. Everything was fading, the darkness closing in.
I forced my eyes open one last time and saw them standing at the top of the stairs, looking down at me with cold, indifferent eyes. Frankie’s words were the last thing I heard before as I finally succumbed to oblivion, unable to stand the pain.
“It’s for the best, Cassandra. You were never meant to be my luna.”
Tracy’s laugh echoed in the darkness, the sound haunting me as everything went black.
