A splash could be heard nearby, Estelle's body felt light. She felt light as if someone was carrying her and was also pulling her at the same time, pulling her deep down the waters.
'So this is how it feels to drown yourself...should've done this before,' she thought as she slowly close her eyes and let the water handle her. 'Calyx...I'm coming,'
Don't...
A voice came into Estelle's mind and so she opened her eyes and saw the white figure diving towards her. Its face wasn't clear but she could tell that he is coming towards her. 'Don't...' she thought, 'please, just let me be...let me die,' she pleaded silently but as her breath shortened and the water slowly made its way to her lungs. She smiled, 'it's time,' and lost consciousness.
As Estelle's consciousness slipped away, the figure swam to her and studied her peaceful face before connecting their lips and transferring some oxygen to the unconscious Estelle before dragging her back to land.
---
The sun was shining its brightest. It shone on Estelle's peaceful face making her face slightly twitch because of the sudden brightness. Slowly, Estelle opened her eyes and her eyes were greeted by the white ceiling. She grunted as she felt pain in her whole body ache, she decided to just let the pain be and decided to sit down properly while roaming her eyes all around the room.
"I'm in the hospital?" she asked herself and then took a look at her body, she had an IV stuck into her hand and a bandage wrapping her head and her clothes yesterday were now replaced by a plain white gown, that was the only thing she was thankful of but her clothes were nothing to be seen and she was thankful of that because if she saw that then it might trigger something inside her once again.
After studying his body and the whole room, she diverted her gaze to the window just to watch the sun sharing its light with all when she heard the door creaking. She turned her head and as she looked at the figure, her brows also raised up.
"You're already awake," the doctor said and sat on the chair beside her. He was about to say something when Estelle spoke first, "why am I here?" she asked and stared at the young doctor in front of her with no emotions in her eyes. But in return, the doctor smiled and took his clipboard that was he was holding since earlier, "no difficulty in breathing, no headaches, still breathing properly, wide awake and isn't feeling nauseatic," the doctor mumbled as he wrote something on his clipboard, "overall, perfectly fine..." he put his clipboard down and looked at Estelle in the eye, "...now let's talk about what happened yesterday shall we," he lessened the distance from his face and to Estelle's.
Estelle who had just realized this right now, immediately pulled back her whole body making her head bump the wall, it was so hard that there was even a sound from it, "Ah," Estelle hissed from the pain and the doctor in front of her immediately stood up and assessed the situation, which wasn't even that serious but for him, it would be better to check it than just letting it be and one might not know that this will eventually lead to an aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage which will put the patient's life in danger.
"Face down," he said in a demanding tone and Estelle gladly complied because she doesn't want anything to be noisy, she's just not in the mood to even do anything let alone arguing with a doctor who's just doing his job. "Just put ice pack unto the bruised area so that it will have no complications," said the doctor before occupying the empty seat. He rotated his head and did some hand stretching before lifting up one of his long legs and putting it on top of the other. "So..." he pushed back his glasses that were sliding down, "...why did you do that?" the doctor straightforwardly asked her with his eyes filled with seriousness. Estelle who didn't want to answer kept her mouth quiet. The doctor who was sitting across from her smirked, "not gonna answer huh?" he asked but Estelle showed no signs of answering the doctor's question.
"Alright...choose...easy way or the hard way?" he asked with his tone now deep cold. Estelle who heard this felt her body shiver as she felt a memory coming to her.
"Brat, go get me some food," a drunk man commanded the young Estelle who was busy playing with her torn toys causing her not to hear the man say. Seeing that Estelle did not move from her position, he grabbed the remote that was just right beside him and there it to Estelle.
The young Estelle who was hit by the object thrown cried so loud that it woke up her mother who was sleeping. "What the f*ck was that?!" her voice boomed as she made her way to where Estelle was and when she saw the little girl crying her heart out made her fume in anger. She walked towards Estelle and grabbed her hair so tight that she pulled some of her strands. "Ahhhhh," Estelle shouted and tried to call for help but was only slapped by her mother that her face went into another direction.
"Wahhhhh," she wailed and wailed until her the drunk man that was asking for food earlier finally stood up and grabbed Estelle's bone-like arms rashly. "You brat! Be quiet!" he shouted and slapped her in the face before letting go of little Estelle's arms making her fall to the ground and start crying again.
When her cries made their way to her mother, she then slapped and kicked the little girl again and the drunk man gave the little girl a glare, "I already said that you have to bring me some food...so choose easy or the hard way?" he asked but it was no use since he started kicking Estelle and soon to be followed by her mother who was having so much fun just from abusing her daughter.
That was one of the memory that Estelle can't get rid of, it was burned into her brain, making it a part of her life. She then looked at the doctor with now tears wanting to escape from her eyes as she pleaded to the doctor as if her life was depending on him, "please..." she rubbed her palms together and bowed her head, "...don't hurt me."
