Chapter Three: Brea Barlowe part 1

1250 Words
Aarons POV “Liam what happened, what's going on?” Luna Jessica asks. “He and Brea are mates. But they are special mates we heard about growing up. I've only met two such mates in my life. They had been alive longer than the Alpha King at the time.” Alpha Liam says. “What?! They are mates? So why are they unconconscious on the ground?” Luna Jessica's voice is riddled with worry. “If I may, Alpha and Luna, Stephen and Brea are not mates. While they might be ‘fated’ mates, she isn’t his chosen mate. That’s me. I’m his mate.” The girl standing in the doorway of Stephens’ room says smiling from ear to ear. “Excuse me?” I say. “What do you mean you’re Stephen’s mate?” Liam asks the girl. “He chose me over Brea. After all she’s just an Omega. So, I think I’m the better choice anyways.” She sneers at Brea, whose lying on the ground. A growl escapes my lips but before I can even speak Jessica says, “Who the hell even are you? Why are you in my house, on my floor, making accusations like this?” “I’m Kayla, the future Luna, seeing as he rejected her for me. Since I’m pregnant with his child.” Kayla smirking and I could just tell there is something about this girl that’s not going to be good for our pack if she becomes Luna. “Aaron, where are you going?” Liam asks as I turn around and pick up Brea. “Taking her back to the hospital. Someone else can take Stephen, it won’t be me this time.” I say and walk out of the pack house towards the hospital. “Sandi, we have another problem.” I say entering the hospital with Brea in my arms. “Who let her leave?!” Sandi shouts, shocked. “I don’t think anyone did. I think she snuck out and came to the pack house to see her mate. Only for him to reject her for that she-wolf slut I pulled him off of. Allegedly, she is pregnant with his child.” I tell her. **GASP** “How is that even possible? Almost never do unmated wolves get pregnant by a wolf other than their mate.” Sandi says a little confused. “That’s what I was thinking. Now both Brea and Stephen are unconscious, while this she-wolf thinks she’s going to become the next Luna of this pack. Something's not right here and I plan to find out what it is.” I say. “Of course, Gamma Aaron. If you would bring Brea back to her room I’ll get her started on a IV drip. Who knows how long she’ll be out this time.” Sandi says and I follow her back to Brea’s hospital room. Laying her gently on the bed I leave Sandi to hook her up to the machines again. And it kills me seeing her like this. She's always hid how strong she is but I've always known there was more to her that meets the eye. Seeing her in a weakened state brings me so much anger that I could rip five trees out of the ground and ground them into sawdust with my bare hands. How could Stephen reject her like that, without a second thought, and for some she-wolf w***e who could be lying about whose baby she’s carrying. Pacing back and forth outside of Brea’s room Tyrene notices me and wobbles over to me worriedly. “Gamma? What's wrong? Is Brea okay? Why are you pacing outside of her room?” Tyrene said concerned for her best friend. “Uhm, well, she’ll be alright. She happened to sneak out of the hospital and went to the pack house to speak with Stephen, and in turn, he rejected her to be with Kayla who is allegedly pregnant with his child.” I tell her. “That’s not possible. I thought you could only have children with your mate...” Tyrene says heartbroken for her friend. “Where’s Stephen?” she asks after a minute of silence. “Well, he’s in the same condition as Brea. But I brought her to the hospital so I don’t know who is going to bring Stephen.” I speak. Nodding Tyrene walks back to her room and before she closes her door, I can hear her sobbing. Probably out of fear of not knowing when Brea will wake up. “Aaron? Did I hear you say that Stephen rejected Brea as his mate? For Kayla?” Randell asks coming down the hallway with a tray of food probably for Sarah. “Yeah, he did.” I speak. “Is he even sure that the child is his? You know, their whole relationship they’ve both slept around cheating on each other. Maybe he should’ve looked into it before jumping the gun and rejecting his goddess given mate.” Randell says. “Well, that’s what I'm about to do. If you would like to help just mind-link me. I'll be around.” I say, patting Randell on the back I leave the hospital to look for answers. “I hear your searching for answers, so I'll let you know if anything changes with Brea.” Sandi mind-links me. “Thank you. I didn’t want it to be weird if I asked.” I mind-link her back. “Not a problem, you are the Gamma.” Sandi mind-links back causing me a slight smile. As I walk out of the hospital I notice there is no scent of Stephen inside or outside. “Alpha? Did anyone bring Stephen to the hospital?” I mind-link Alpha Liam. “No. Funny thing. He woke up not too long after you left with Brea.” Alpha Liam mind-links back. I can feel his suspicion through the link. “Well that’s strange. Brea’s still out.” I mind-link. “Yeah. I figured when you didn’t come back. Something’s going on here, and I want to know what it is.” Liam says through our link. “Already on it.” I say before closing off my link to everyone except Sandi and Brea. “Come on, Brea. Fight whatever happened to you and wake up. I’ve got questions.” I mind-link though I don’t expect her to answer. “She’s going to be out for a while, Gamma Aaron. It’s hard enough to force my reply to you.” Kendra, Brea’s wolf, struggles to mind-link me. “Oh my God! Kendra! At least now I know you and her can hear me. You just focus on healing her and I’ll see if I can find something out.” I mind-link her grateful to know that Brea will be up-to-date on everything when wakes up. Heading to the edge of our border I know there’s only one person (besides Alpha Liam) that I can think of to tell me about the type of mates Brea and Stephen were. And maybe she can tell me about how Brea can hide her Alpha-Luna scent and create links without breaking the packs. Her name is Sophie but most call her Wisewoman, after all she is older than any of us. Sophie is well over 800 years old but the reason we don’t call her an Old Wiseman is because she looks as if she hasn’t aged since she was 21.
