Brea Barlowe part 2

1377 Words
She’s very beautiful, with light brown skin, brown hair, and blue eyes. She’s tall standing at 6’1”, which is just four inches shorter than me. Sophie is so old mainly because of her mate. Alexander Da Vinci is her mate and he is a high ranking vampire. Sophie is a werewolf, witch, vampire, tyrbrid. Usually hybrids are either werewolf/vampires, werewolf/witches, or vampire/witches. Sophie got lucky, she was born a werewolf/witch hybrid and when she found her vampire mate she tried casting the trybrid spell before completing the mating process. Unfortunately for most people witch hybrids the spell doesn’t work and they lose either their werewolf or vampire side. There is also a choice for a witch hybrid to lose her witch side. Sophie was lucky to have become a trybrid. Now she’s an 800 plus year old werewolf who knows the ancient history of our king, an 800 plus year old witch who is bound to be more powerful than most witches, as well as an 800 plus year old vampire. Though that may seem like childhood for other vampires, it makes her amazing to all three races. Especially for those looking to gain intel for war purposes. That’s why she lives on our territory. Her mate Alexander saved one of the Alphas of our pack about 600 years ago, so the Alpha made a pact to protect Alexanders’ mate, and we’ve held true to that pact. She hasn’t had an attack for five years, but the last attack was from witches who wanted information against werewolves in order to start and end a war. But we had the numbers and fighting skill, plus none of us wanted the wrath of Alexander. Stepping up to her house in the woods I notice a pleasant smell of roast and wild berry sauce. **Knock…Knock…Knock…** “One second.” A voice calls out. The door cracks open. “Hello. Who are you?” The woman behind the door asks. “Hello, I’m Gamma Aaron of the Black-Briar Pack. Are you Sophie?” I ask due to being unable to see her face behind the door. “Yes, what business do we have, Gamma Aaron?” She asks cautiously. “I just have a few questions about the werewolf race type of mates, and of a girl who is an Alpha-Luna yet was able to mask her scent without prior training.” I say. “Ah you want to know about the type of mates Stephen and Brea and you want to know about Brea’s familial pack and traits. Am I right?” Sophie asks. “Yes, ma’am. May I come in to discuss this away from prying ears?” I ask sincerely. “Ah, the rogues. Of course.” Sophie says as she moves away from the door, allowing me to enter her home. When she closes the door, she whispers an incantation and lights a bundle of sage by the door. Placing the sage back by the door, Sophie says, “Okay, now we can talk freely. What do you want to know first?” “What does it mean for Stephen and Brea to be Alpha mates?” I ask. “Well, you do know what type of mates they are, interesting.” Sophie says walking into the kitchen. “Would you like some tea?” She asks as I sit at the dining room table. “Yes, please. If it’s not a bother.” I say. “Of course not. I always make tea after dinner.” Sophie says. Then it’s quiet while she makes the tea. “So, Stephen and Brea are Alpha mates. And Stephen rejected Brea and she must’ve accepted, am I right?” Sophie says mainly stating her information, coming into the dining room with the tea kettle, teas cakes, and two tea cups on a nice wooden serving tray. “Yes, but after accepting the rejection they both passed out. I took Brea to the pack doctor, who worked Brea up to monitors again. After leaving the pack house where the rejection happened Stephen woke up but Brea is still out and her wolf is struggling to heal her.” I tell Sophie. “So, I’ve seen. Well, one thing to know about Alpha mate bonds is they’re not easy to break, unlike regular mate bonds. Alpha mate bonds are stronger, older, and longer lasting. They form when both mates are of Alpha blood and one or both mates have some kind of special ability. Has Stephen shown any sign of special ability? Has Brea?” Sophie explains. “Stephen’s not much in the unique category. Brea on the other hand, has been able to hide her Alpha-Luna scent since she was 2 years old, making us think she was an Omega. And she created a separate link between her and Tyrene, another member of the pack without breaking the pack link to other of them. And only they can tap into their link.” I tell her. “Interesting. Is there any way you can bring me a vial of her blood to analyze it? Also what pack is she from? Who are her parents? I’ll need to track the family bloodlines to see if she has an ability and what it could be.” Sophie says. “I think I can. But it’ll take me about an hour. She’s originally from the Black Moon Pack. Her parents are Alpha Derrick and Alpha-Luna Isabell of the Blood Moon Pack. Though Alpha-Luna is originally from the Snow Moon Pack. I’ll be back.” I say when I finish my tea. Sophie nods her head and I get up to leave. “Oh, Gamma Aaron? If you could, put the bundle of sage out. Please and thank you.” Sophie says. “Of course.” I say, put the sage out, and leave her house. I walk to the pack hospital and when I walk up to the nurses station I can smell Stephen all around and going toward Brea’s room. So, instead of asking for Sandi, I rushed to Brea’s room. “What are you doing here?” I say seething as I see Stephen standing next to Brea’s bed. “I did this. I put Brea in the hospital. I’m supposed to be the Alpha soon and instead of protecting my pack and its members, I hurt it and them. Not just Brea, I hurt the whole pack, without even thinking of them. I cost them their rightful Luna. I only thought of the shame of not being with my child’s mother and the shame it would bring her.” Stephen says as he slump into the chair next to Brea and drops his head into his hands. “I’m sorry Stephen but I don’t feel sorry for you. As your friend and Gamma, you know I had to take over as Gamma when my father suffered fatal wounds protecting your mother, instead of his own mate, I will say this, I pity you. Making choices to protect this pack is all everyone does, except you. Hell even when Brea could’ve used her Alpha-Luna aurora against the seven rogues she faced damn near single-handedly, she didn’t. Just to protect her best friend which in turn protected this pack. And what did you do? You rejected her even after learning her bloodline. She’s an Alpha-Luna, do you know how rare it is for a Luna to have the wolf of an Alpha female? Do you know what kind of danger this pack would’ve been in if she had let it slip to one of those rogues, what she was? She would’ve made the best Luna for you, that’s why the Moon Goddess destined her for you. But you f****d up and have no one to blame but yourself.” I say seething, but starting to feel better after getting everything out. “I know. Now there’s nothing I can do to fix it. Our bond is forever broken. The pack will never be as strong as it should be. And it’s all my fault.” Stephen says guilt written all over his face. “There’s nothing I can do.” I say, not sure what else there is to say.
