Wilderness and Wolves
New beginnings
Urgh. Today's moving day. Not that im not excited to be starting my new job as forest ranger... but does it have to be half way across the globe?! Guess I should be happy it's my first real job but still!
After graduating from my Conservation degree... I've finally got the chance to officially move out of my parents and be a 'proper' grown-up.
So after countless hours wasted packing my wordly possessions into 10 or so cardboard boxes... it's finally time to say goodbye.
'I can't believe you're leaving!' Wailed my mum Sue. 'I can't believe I'm losing my only daughter to the big bad world!'
'Mum its not like im emmigrating to Atlantis! I'll only be a few hours plane ride away...'
'But I'll be left by myself! Who am i going to spend time with now?!'
' Err... Dad? Peter and John?'
'But but but... they're all boys! Who am i going to do girly things with?'
She was just clutching at straws now. I mean as the proverbial tom boy who spent most of her time in the wild... it's not like I really spent time doing anythung remotely 'girly'.
'It's okay mum. Ill be back to see you soon enough!'
With one last sniff and sob my mum moved out of the way and left me to say goodbye to the rest of the Sanderson clan.
' Bye Amber'. We're going to miss having someone to cover for us' said Peter.
'Yer' grinned John... 'who are we going to use as a scape goat now?
'Move you two! We're going to miss you so much sweetie.'
'Me too Dad'
'You know if you get in any trouble I'm one call away right?'
' Yes thanks Dad'.
'Bye love you all!'
I picked up my bags and with one last look at my family climbed into the taxi waiting to take me to the Airport.
