Chapter 5

James POV

What’s with Maggie? Why she was looking at Jeremy that way? Why I felt irritated by it? Am I jealous? That couldn’t be. Why would I be jealous because of that?

But why he was also looking at Maggie like that? I mean he was never looking at her, not even pay attention to her before. But I see him now walking towards her and I need to do something about it.

Wait......what am I doing? What am I trying to do? Most probably he just wants to say “Hi” to her.

Maggie POV

Why he’s looking at me? Is there something on my face? Oh, no. He’s walking towards me now. What should I do? What should I say? Oh, crap....

Jeremy POV

I think the last time I saw Maggie was last year. But now, suddenly I saw a different Maggie. Somehow she looked more mature compared to the girl I’d known since little. She looked beautiful and more feminine in a way, not like a tomboy Maggie that I’ve known. Why I just noticed her now? I should had pay more attention to her and got to know her more, just like James did.

Ah, speaking of James. Why he always around her? I knew that he fond of her since she was a baby but to the extend that he was close to her until now made me a little......jealous? Wait! What??? Me? Jealous? Over Maggie?

“Hi, Maggie. How are you?” You felt a churned in your stomach but in a good way.

“Hi, Jeremy. I’m good. I hardly see you nowadays. Have you been busy?” You were trying to make the situation not to be awkward.

James felt uneasy to the situation. Somehow he felt jealous that Jeremy was talking to you. He was trying to distract you by tugging at your hands, but you didn’t give him any responds.

“Are you ready for high school next term?” Jeremy looked at a restless James beside you but he ignored it.

“I guess so, well I hope so.” You were flustered a little that Jeremy actually paid attention that you would be in high school in the next term. It meant that you would be seeing him for at least one whole year before he went to university.

You had never admitted to anyone that you were actually crushing on him since two years back. You knew that you would never told your mom about it or even Steve, both of them would definitely teased you like there’s no tomorrow.

Of course you couldn’t tell Nicholas, he’s one of James best friend and you didn’t think that he would like the idea of you were crushing on his friend.

Taylor, well, let’s just say that he wouldn’t help in any way, so mind as well didn’t say anything to him. So, basically, there’s no one else to share about this. You did have friends in school but they knew Jeremy and for sure they would have comments something that you didn’t think you wanted to hear at the moment.

You heard rumors about him being a playboy in school and it all started since middle school. He would date around with all the pretty girls and dumped them the next week or even as soon as the next day if he felt that the girl was not worth his time.

Somehow it didn’t bother you about the rumors. It just made you more curious about him. Maybe, you attracted to a bad boy type rather than a good mama boy type. But, since you had never been in a relationship before or even went out on a date, you didn’t know what to expect or what really your preferences were.

In the mean time, James was anxious to get you out of there, he knew about Jeremy’s tricks. Jeremy himself taught him about several moves that he could use to get a girl’s attention. So, he didn’t want you to fall for it. Besides, why suddenly Jeremy paid attention to you now? He had never been interested in you before, let alone talked to you with a long sentence. The only words that James had ever heard Jeremy said to you was “Hi, Maggie.” That’s all. But why now?

“Come on, Maggie.” You were now looking at James and could see how anxious of him to get out from there. “Bye, Jeremy. I’ll see you around.” You gave him a smile and he waved to you before he went to Nicholas’ room.

After you walked with James to the game room, you couldn’t hide a smile in your face while thinking about what just happened awhile ago and he was curious about that.

“Why are you smiling?” Suddenly James stopped in front of you.

“W-what??? I didn’t!” You stuttered a little by his question. You were caught red handed and you didn’t know how to reply to him.

“Yes, you did. You were smiling after you talked to my brother. Don’t tell me you like him?” You were shocked by what he was saying. You didn’t know that he was paying attention the whole time when you were talking to Jeremy.

Did you like Jeremy? Why James was looking as if he didn’t like the idea of you to have a crush on his brother? Was he jealous? Why was he jealous? Is not like James like you or anything? Did he?

You were trying to ignore him and went straight to open the game room’s door. Inside, Taylor was playing with Steve. Both of them didn’t pay any attention to you when you’re walking inside. They were too immersed in the game and you weren’t too bothered for them for not paying any attention since you were having a lot of questions in your mind.

James was walking behind you and stared at your back the whole time while finally sitting across from you inside the room. He really didn’t know how to decipher his feeling towards you. He knew that he cared about you but that’s about it right? But how come every time he saw you talked to any other guys, he was feeling…..uneasy? Jealous maybe?

Did he actually have a feeling for you? A feeling that more than just a friend or a best friend or even a brother? He needed to talk to someone about this. But who?
