Chapter 7

At first, it was a little awkward between you and James, but as soon as you finished your ice cream and a few small talks in between, you both finally back to normal. For you, normal was mocking at each other and talked about unnecessary things. He was updating you about high school, since you would be attending the same high school as him and the rest of your brothers. You sort of knew what it felt like to be in high school and you’re glad that your brothers Nicholas and Taylor would still be there since Steve had already in university now pursuing his long time dream as a doctor.

Your dad was disappointed at first that Steve didn’t want to be majoring in business but in the end after your mom was explaining to him the benefit of having a doctor in the family, your dad gave in. You knew that your dad wouldn’t let Nicholas and Taylor to follow Steve footstep so he already made an arrangement for them. Since he had some connections in a well-known university, he already registered them and all they needed to do was to take the major your dad asked them to. You knew Nicholas wouldn’t have any problem to take a business major but you were not sure about Taylor. Hopefully he could survive or if some miracles happened, he could take whatever major that he wanted to.

Well, in the end the hangout went by smoothly. After the ice cream store, you went to the park nearby and spent the whole day, talking, looking at other passerby while imagining what their stories were and just laughing your a*s off. Both of you promised to make time at least once a week to meet up and catch up. You didn’t mind that at all but when he suggested to meet again next Saturday, you remembered that you had promised Julius and spent next Saturday with him.

“Sorry, Jammie! I can’t next week. I did promise Julius to hang out with him since he won’t be visiting his grandma. But I can ask him if you can join us?”

“No, it’s okay! I just remember next Saturday I have practice. It’s for our last game, so yeah we need to practice for that.”

When you told James about it, at first you could see the disappointment in his face and you felt bad about it. But suddenly he smiled at you and saying it again that it was okay since it was just that one Saturday. He made you promised to hangout with him every Saturday after that and you agreed.

James walked you back to your house but he didn’t come inside since he promised his mom to eat dinner at home with the family. So both of you parted and said your goodbyes. When you started to open your door, suddenly you felt someone grabbed your wrist and turned you around and landed a kiss on your lips.

You were shocked at first and startled not knowing what was just happened but then you saw the figure in front of you. It was James. You didn’t know how to react since it was your first kiss. Your F I R S T  K I S S.

Maggie POV

Holy God!!!

It’s my first kiss. MY f*****g FIRST KISS!!!

What’s going on? What comes into him? What should I do? Should I kiss him back? I don’t know how. Shoot!!!

As soon as the kiss landed on your lips, James couldn’t consumed himself. He moved his lips but got no respond. He could feel that you just froze there and he knew it shocked you, even he surprised himself of what he was doing.

When he finally parted his lips from yours, he felt embarrassed and scared that you would hit him or worst hate him for that. But as he tried to look up to you, all he could see was your confused face, but maybe more like a dazed face. He didn’t know for sure.

“Maggie….Maggie….Are you okay?” He was waving his hand in front of your face and suddenly you turned around, open the door and ran inside until you reached your room and locked yourself there.

James was standing there a bit confused but didn’t dare to follow you in because he knew what he just did most probably confused you and he didn’t want to make it worst. He would let it sink in for now and maybe tried to explain later or tomorrow or whenever you were ready. Now what he needed was to calm himself also and rethink what he should do since he just made a bold move towards you without thinking any further and consequences that would follow.

Why did I do that? What was I thinking?

I know something inside me that doesn’t want to lose her or something, but I know I wouldn’t right? Why would I lose her?

I just hope that Maggie don’t hate me after this. I really wish to take back that moment but no, I don’t think I want to take it back. That’s the best moment for me ever since I know her and I want to be with her. Oh, God. I just hope that didn’t ruin my friendship with her. I know that she didn’t kiss me back but maybe because she’s in shocked. I really need to get a second chance to do it right.

I better go to Henry’s place tomorrow since I don’t have anything to do and I know what he will be doing, most probably he’ll be practicing his dance especially there’ll be a dance competition coming up within a month.

What was that? You didn’t know what to do or think or …….whatever it was, it’s….nice. It felt nice, but why? Why would he do that? Why he suddenly kissed me? Did he like me? Did you like him back? You’re so confused right now so you decided to just ignored and slept on it for tonight.
