35 I spent the rest of the day locked in the lab. I was supposed to be analyzing the results of previous experiments, but I just had no energy for that. Instead, I spent the entire time doing many non-work things: re-growing the crystal for magical energy storage, testing some nifty purification techniques I'd read about in Alchemist's Review, and fooling around with the equipment. It was plain, unadulterated fun, a reminder of why I left Crow Hill and came to Ashford. Not for the magic, or the status games, or the university degree, but for the opportunities to do nifty, cool alchemy, and become rich and famous.
