Since I wanted to have a long, calm conversation with Jack, I invited him to go out on Saturday afternoon — to a quiet cafe near the park where we occupied a table outside. There was nobody in the surrounding tables — it was too cold for most people. As a student, I'd learned to dress up to heat myself, rather than use heating — gas is quite expensive. So I was well dressed, and not feeling any cold as I was sitting on the padded chair. "So, what did you want to talk about?" Jack asked as he took a sip out of his coffee.
