I had worked with energy crystals enough to have figured out what my problem with them was. The magic nets were too loose in most of them, and the energy was too hard to collect. Which is why you had to get the energy out first, and then use it, since, unlike the body's energy channels, the extraction of energy from crystals was a lot harder to control.
