10 I shared my worries about the company and the Major with Jack that night. Jack had some useful contacts; maybe he could dig something up. I wasn't sure I wanted to discuss it with Grandpa. Grandpa, for all that he was on my side, being part of my family and all, had too much tendency to hide things from me. Even now, I was sure there were many things he wasn't telling me. It's not that he wouldn't answer my questions; but he always answered them concisely, sticking to the bare minimum. If I didn't know what to ask about, he wouldn't volunteer anything.
