Saturday morning I had a training session with Grandpa before breakfast, and then I spent all morning with the Major. I don't know why the Major spent his valuable free time with me. He had no wife or kids, but didn't he have anything better to do? Apparently, no. He started, like always, by teaching me a spell (a variation of the fireball, this time. He always taught me some variation of a fireball, or a ray of fire, or shield.) Then, he made me repeat the spell until I could do it automatically. It was really, really boring (except for the learning the spell part, which was marginally interesting).
