6 David Bedwen came into Major Craen's living room, his fighter instincts heightened. He felt a spell, a dangerous spell, so he instinctively built a shield. The Major, who was playing with a fireball in his hands, looked up. He was sitting on the sofa, with the windows behind him, the sun blinding anybody who tried to see him. His face was but a shadow, his expression inscrutable. He had strategically placed himself so he could see everybody who came into the room, while he sat on the sofa, his back straight, not leaning, his feet firmly standing on the floor.
