Ilona's POV:
I sat in front of two males. A vampire, and a wolf. Nelo and Juan. Both my mates. The air was tense, it was understandable with two enemies in the same room. These two kinds never really worked well together. they were both brainstorming on the possibility of why I was a vampire and a wolf. Nelo kept looking at me as if I was something else as if something else in me was also different from the normal life of everyone. A vampire and a wolf. A hybrid.
"have you ever craved blood before? Was it really the first time you found out about this?" Juan asks, wanting to make sure.
"yes... I didn't know myself. And I never craved blood, actually, I was repulsed by the smell of it. I was bathed in blood when I was around 5 when the pack found me. I was all bloody with my own blood and my parents. I just hated the smell of it." I replied, remembering that time I nearly died. Twice did that happened to me, and I hope it would not happen again.
"It is very strange for a vampire and a werewolf to have a child, I've never seen this before. It's almost impossible" Juan continued and Nelo sneered beside him.
"You claim your parents knew hers, and you had seen her as a child, yet you're going to tell me you didn't know that the Athas had abilities. Like elemental control, some had the possession of a wolf, some vampires, some had witch crafting skills. You're going to tell me you didn't know that. But you are indeed right that it is the first that something like this has ever happened. And if we want answers, you know exactly who we need to call."
????'s POV:
A small explosion here, and there, and the room was a fuming white cloud. I opened my window, the chemicals escaping through the opening. I had failed once again, but failing is a part of learning. I needed to try again, I needed to. This potion was important. Why I didn't know. It was just one of those impulsive thoughts in the morning, and I just had to go and create something that would perhaps never work, but I had to keep trying. I had to.
I flipped my black hair back, giving me some view of my work as I couldn't see properly with it dangling down. Few more tries, few more failed attempts. It had been two weeks since I had woken up and that idea had popped into my mind. Two weeks since I've been searching why it had been so important to me, and why did I never give up. I was never the type to give up anyway.
By the evening, I finally made the right formula. A white cloud emitted from the cauldron. And a picture showed inside. A female. Beaten and bloody. Growing in abuse. A wolf. then it changes, the picture goes all bloody and there stood a woman, blood on her chin, her eyes red and slowly turning back to its color blue. Such marvelous blue eyes. Vampire.
wait... Wolf and vampire? But why was I showed this? Was I supposed to guess what was going on, was it one of those exams that my master send me through a mind bond. I sigh. Perhaps. Yet, I was interested, I wanted to go and explore.
I was about to turn around to go pack and leave when the cauldron started changing color, the white clouds going yellow as a message shows. I grin - good timing.
Erik Morgan, Wizard of good and bad, wizard of trickery and luck, I, Juan Galanta, Alpha of the shadow Pack, King of wolves, and Nelo Medicus, the vampire king, wishes to invite the latter to my pack for a query. Questions and answers related to the late Athas Family and its ancestor for our dear mate, Ilona Athas.
We thank you in advance, hoping to see you present.
Juan Galanta and Nelo Medicus.
Well, I guess, I don't have to wait for permission in, I have direct entrance.
With a clap of hands, the luggage was done, and with another, they all disappeared to my ring. It was a pale blue, and grey similar to the moon color. With the ring being silver, it was a family heirloom passed down to girls, but since my mum didn't have any daughters, she gave it to me to give it to my own daughter or to propose- obviously it will pass down to my daughter if I ever had one.
I look at the moon-like ring and sigh, I missed my parents. Being alone is depressing. The loneliness keeps eating you alive, and I wish so much to found the one.
I get out of my house, mumbled one of the many spells I know, and I am transported to the pack's gate. This way of traveling has always made me dizzy upon arrival. It's kinda like being compressed together in a black hole before you suddenly take back your side, being pulled in every direction, your head pounding like crazy before everything stops and you arrived at the place you just teleported to.
It is cooler but warmer, the wind helps people keep cool. It rustles through the trees and my tousled my hair from side to side, my gaze fell on the busy roads of the Shadow Pack, it looked like any other village, only it is protected by the forest and it is protecting their secret as werewolves. I marched forward, my cloak slightly levitating with the wind and I take it off, it was unneeded with the heat. The warriors that guarded the entrance must have seen my face, must have known I would make an appearance as the gate immediately opened for me. I nod my head in them in thanks, but they didn't bother as much as to nod back, I scoffed internally. So rude.
I walk up to a large building, it looked like a packhouse where all the newly shifted wolves at 18 could go, the top floor was for alphas, the floor below was for Betas and Gammas, and then the rest were just for casual wolves. If my nose was as strong as a vampire, or as an animal, I would perhaps smell the wet odour of wolves, but sadly I couldn't, and frankly, I was glad I couldn't.
Being that they are in the same pack, they wouldn't smell it, but if a different wolf from a different pack would enter, everyone would smell the scent that does not belong to them, this is also how they can tell between a wolf from a pack, and a packless wolf; a rogue.
