The King

Ilona's POV: I felt disoriented when I woke up. The ceiling and walls were all white and the strong smell of disinfectant filled my noise. it scrunched up a little. It made me remember when I was 5 years old and I was unconscious for 2 weeks and when I woke up, everything was In shambles. I barely remembered anything.  And this was the same again, I sat up and startled when someone rushed to me to help me. Good grace, he scared me.  "You're awake! How are you feeling?" He asks, his voice was very gentle. I opened my mouth to speak, but my throat was so dry and hoarse, I couldn't let a sound out. Before I could say anything, he had a glass of water in his hand as if he magically made it appear like this. I eagerly drank from it. I finished the glass quite quickly. "Thank you," I said softly, I look up at the man who had helped me. His emerald eyes so bright that I remember the night two weeks ago, they were so beautiful. I stared for a moment to look, but the moment I was about to look away, my eyes widen in shock. He was my.."Mate" I said quietly, but how was that possible. Was he my second chance mate? He smiled but I look away, my cheeks heating up. " "How are you feeling?" he ask again, but I just shrugged. I felt alright, just a pain in my leg and my neck felt stiff but I was alright apart from that. He seemed to have gotten it from my body language.  "Alright, then who are you?" he asks, his voice soft and gentle, he was careful, that's for sure. "ah sorry, where are my manners, I'm Juan Galanta, Alpha of the Shadow Pack." he smiles softly.  OH. MY. GOD. "You're the king!" I snapped, surprised. My eyes were wide. I'm mated to the king? Do I even deserve such a blessing? No, maybe not. He seems kind though, I thought I would have met a merciless killer willing to kill anyone, maybe even me at how weak I looked, but no. He just seemed to care already for me.  He smiled, a small chuckled leaving his lips. My eyes darted to them, and a blush cross my cheeks when I realized where I was looking. My mind even went 100 miles away... I wonder... how soft they would be on mine. I snapped my head away, blushing and slapping my face gently, maybe they'll think the reddish color on my cheeks was from the light repetitive slaps. Gosh, Ilona, get yourself together.  "So can I have the pleasure of knowing your name please?" he asks, his voice, even more, gentler than before, and that deep tone to it... Ilona, get yourself together!  "oh.. yeah sorry, my name is Ilona Athas." "You're the daughter of Marcus Athas?" he asks. "yeh, that's all I know, and that I used to be from the Silverbane Pack. Other than that, all my memories are in shamble. " I replied quietly.  "your father was close to mine, and I'm even sure my dad could talk to you about him." he replied, smiling softly. "how fate is interesting," he added, a hand on the side of my face as he trailed his fingers on my cheek down to my neck, then put a few strands of hair behind my hair. "your hair is very beautiful, it's the same color as your wolf. It is very unusual. But very beautiful" "it's not really... most people called me a witch because of my hair," I spoke, bringing my self-esteem down.  "well, then a very beautiful witch" he teased. My cheeks flushed suddenly, and I turn my head away again. "you are nearly fully healed, but what you need right now is to gain weight and train, that is if you want. Make you stronger, it is your choice. But be warned, I will be the one training you. " "I'll train. I've never trained before.... during that attack... I felt weak, so yes please!" I nearly begged, maybe it's the mate bond that made me agree so quick or just the need to be able to protect myself. I don't really want to feel weak again, when I was attacked it felt really annoying that I barely knew how to protect myself, I would have probably died in human form, so I should have been lucky to be in my wolf.  Juan smiled lightly, his dimples showing. "alright, Lona, do you want anything to eat?" he asks, did he call me Lona instead of Ilona? Never mind being mad, I actually like this shortness of my name... "I'm not picky" I smiled softly. I watch as he stood up, walk to me. I sank in myself, flinching slightly, I didn't know why I worried, because he only kissed my cheek, a sad look in his eyes before he left.  Well, at least it wasn't really a pity. I hope my old pack is not looking for me, well not like they would care at all. I bet Sherie is burning the kitchen down because she doesn't know how to cook. I wonder what their expression was when they found out I had run away, perhaps they would have shrugged their shoulder and carry on with their journey as they might think I'll die from rogues. Not like I really care what they think, but I am just very curious. If only I could have a vision of it.  It might be very funny to see. I giggled to myself, if Juan was here he would have look at me weirdly and perhaps think I am weird. Or perhaps I am already weird- isn't everybody weird though.  Alright shhh ilona, you're talking too much.  I sigh deeply. "what do you think of Juan, Misty?" "He sounds great, I bet his wolf would be magnificent to see. I wonder what his wolf name is? And if his wolf is as good as him. Oh maybe you two should shift together, maybe after the marking and mating, you could repeat it in wolves form" I sigh, she had always been this way. "Don't worry Misty, I would like to see his wolf too"  I fell back on the bed, burying my head in the pillows as I felt myself drifting to sleep, his scent was on my pillow, perhaps where he had sat, or he touched me. It calmed me and help me sleep.
