The Move : Chrelia

3038 Words
Third Person's P.O.V Lyle had asked Jamie why Chrelia came to station number one instead of his booth.  "She looked like she had something to say to you."  "The school told them that we'll be shuffled. How'd she know I was the one behind that wall?"  "I didn't know she knows?" Jamie says, confused.  "If she asked you to come to booth 1, then she probably knows it's me. If she thinks that we've been shuffled, she wouldn't have come to you and just ask for permission."  "Oh,"  Jamie realizes then and his mouth formed an 'o'. Lyle looks at him in worry. The issue with Michelle hasn't been solved yet and it was eating Jamie inside. He was still deeply hurt but he also misses Michelle. He hasn't seen Michelle after their break up - seemingly break up because he had made sure to avoid Michelle.  He wasn't ready to succumb to his loneliness.  "I guess I should thank you too," Lyle says, taking a seat.  "What do you mean?" Jamie sits down beside his friend.  Lyle shots him a grateful smile before patting Jamie's back.  "It's too early to say but still." Lyle was being figurative and Jamie didn't appreciate it.  "Lyle, about me and Michelle," he decides to change the topic but he didn't mean to open that up. Though he thinks that his friend deserves to know, its' still too soon.  "I know," he was about to change the topic again when Lyles response made him stop before he could open his mouth.  "You? H-how?" he was bewildered.  "Amelia asked me to talk to Michelle that day." "So you knew since that day?" Lyle nods. "Yeah," "Sorry I didn't tell you." Lyle shakes her head and pats Jamie's back again.  "Even I know when it still hurts."  Lyle was too good to be true. Jamie thought Lyle would get angry but she didn't and that made Jamie tear up a little. Other than his heart breaking, he has gained a lifetime friend that is irreplaceable. Jamie wipes his tears away, and sniffs one time.  "I miss her, and I don't know what I did wrong."  Lyle doesn't know how to comfort a heartbroken friend. She's inexperienced when it comes to love and her own love story is still spurting, growing every beautiful and sad day. Right now, Lyle is experiencing something new and foreign and she's still assessing how to help and not break Amelia and Chrelia apart. But that could wait. Jamie is asking for her help, for her ears to listen.  "She's, I saw her with glasses. Not personally, just a picture. It made my heart ache more."  Lyle then remembers that Jamie likes girls with glasses. Who knew it was Michelle all along?  "I want her."  "Then what's stopping you?" Lyle asks. "Her thoughts." Jamie answers without delay.  "What do you want to do now?" Jamie looks at Lyle, unsure too of what he wants to do.  "I'll see how things play out."  After their conversation, it was time for handing out the missions. Lyle has her own mission too and did it right away. The others were also dispatched immediately. Lyle, as always, finishes her mission first and went back to the office. She has to wait for her members since she needed feedback on the mission and how they did.  While waiting, the door opens revealing a smiling and shy Chrelia. Lyle was speechless. She didn't think Chrelia would make a move this early and when Amelia isn't there for her too.  "Chrelia, what can I do for you?" Lyle awkwardly asks, Chrelia's words earlier messing her head.  "Hello, Lyle."  The fact that Chrelia uses Lyle's name and not President meant that it isn't official business, it's a personal one. Lyle gulps, not wanting the situation to escalate. Chrelia takes a step closer to Lyle. "Yes, hello. Do you need something?" Lyle grips the table's legs under her. "Can I sit here?" Chrelia asks and pulls Cameron's chair.  "Oh, uh, my members are on their way now. We're having a meeting afterwards. So, I'm waiting for them." Lyle tries to reason out.  "I'll wait here with you and go once they're here."  Chrelia takes a sit and pulls the chair closer to her.  Crap. Lyle thought.  "Did you want to tell me something?"  "What made you think that I wanted to tell you something?" Lyle is almost lured in by Chrelia's beauty. She was once attracted to Chrelia and she can't change that. Chrelia is still beautiful in Lyle's eyes, that is why Lyle is so nervous right now.  "You sat down, meaning you didn't want to do anything." "As expected of the president. You know everything." Chrelia teases, her words having a double meaning and Lyle caught that.  Chrelia wanted to make Lyle spill out that she was the one hearing Chrelia's confession earlier.  "I don't, really. I just think of the possible reasons." Lyle taking control of the situation.  "It seems your possible reasons are the exact reasons."  "Really? I don't think so."  "So, Lyle,"  "Yes, Chrelia?"  "How are you?"  Lyle was taken aback by the question. She wasn't sure how to satisfy Chrelia. The question was vague and general. Lyle doesn't know what Chrelia was targeting at. Lyle is afraid to answer wrongly because that would result to Chrelia asking more questions and Lyle isn't good with personal questions.  "I'm doing greater than before."  Chelia stops for as second to think of another question but Lyle's answer has covered it all, by being vague and being general, like her question was. Chrelia was beaten by her own game by Lyle. She had expected so much from Lyle and Lyle had exceeded them enough.  "I can't seem to get through you." Cherlia says, talking to herself but Lyle hears that and it made her confuse.  Lyle opens her mouth, about to ask when someone comes in., Gerald. Chrelia and Lyle and looks at Gerald. Gerald stops in his tracks, his hand still holding the doorknob. Chrelia chuckles lightly and stands up, true to her word of leaving.  "I'll be going now. Thank you for talking with me, President." Chrelia gives Lyle her sweetest smile before excusing herself and sees herself out of the office.  Gerald looks at the disappearing figure of Chrelia before looking at Lyle with confusion written all over his face. He closes the door slowly before taking a seat on his seat. Silence engulfing them. One was waiting for a question while one was waiting for an answer.  "President," Gerald gave up first in waiting.  "Yes, Gerald,"  "What was that?"  The question that Lyle had waited but didn't prepare an answer to.  "I don't even know myself." Lyle sighs.  Lyle knows but she doesn't know how to put it into words. A complication will rise if she phrases it wrongly, like how Michelle asked Jamie wrongly. The right words are hard to find when you're in a tight position.  "She looks like she was enjoying herself." Gerald's eyebrows raises, his suspicions rising.  "I don't understand what happened."  "But you're the President." he says it as a matter-of-factly. "I don't like that you all think I know everything."  Lyle's thoughts wandered to all the questions that has piled up inside her head over time. The fact that her father was still alive, well and managing a rebellious organization is making her turn her mind upside down. The other brand that Jason Ryle showed her. How the previous council got disbanded and how one ended up being a rebel and one ended up being still in the system.  She had many questions rather than answers, so she didn't understand why the others thought that she knows everything when she's just a little woman inside a big world.  "But you do, even when reason itself isn't born yet." Gerald answers her confidently. "Reasons are different from answers."  "But it can be a part of the answer. A factor that triggers that said answer." Gerald is right but Lyle just shakes her head. "There are many factors. You forgot how it works." Lyle says, educating the oblivious Gerald.  "One factors triggers the other. It's a branch that connects themselves."  "But what triggered what? There has got to be a starting line."  "The answer is the starting line. You think of an answer before thinking of the pros and cons."  "But, President,"  "There is another way, I know but as you think of it, an answer emerges. It all comes down to one answer. Plus, factors are also different from reasons." Gerald sighs at Lyle's lecture.  "I can't just beat you."  "You just don't try harder." Lyle chuckles, the situation now lighter. "See? This is why you know almost everything. From the moment it's happening till the moment it's done." Lyle shakes her head is disagreement.  "The reason why I know is because you guys are just too complacent that it had already happened, thus thinking that there is no reason for an investigation to go further." Gerald clicks his tongue and nods., Lyle hitting the bullseye.  "You're two steps ahead of us." Gerald claps his hand as a form of compliment.  "We're just people in one boat."  "And you're the captain." Lyle shrugs.  After chatting for a bit, the other members arrives one by one until everyone was present. The meeting started and everything went smoothly. It was too smooth that they ended early. Lyle told everyone to take it easy for now, meaning a halt in the investigation on System. Everyone needed a rest, a much needed rest.  The council starts exiting the school, heading towards their own dormitories and to their own rooms. Everyone collapsed on their beds and took a nap, at the same time. The fatigue getting to them, the exhaustion finally creeps in as they enter their deep slumber.  The next day comes, a Saturday. Lyle wakes up and a knock was heard immediately. Lyle combs her hair with her fingers and made herself look presentable before opening the door. The door opens and Lyle finds Amelia with a bouquet of flowers and chocolates. It was still too early for Valentines.  "Good morning, Amelia." Lyle greets with a smile. She was going to kiss Amelia when she realizes that she has morning breath.  "It's already noon."  "Oh. Come in,"  Amelia comes in with a confused look mixed with a frown. Lyle gargles with water and made her way to Amelia. Lyle leans her hips on the wall and crosses her arms.  "Chrelia is getting serious." Amelia puts down the flowers and the chocolates on Lyle's bed and looked at Lyle's newly awaken state, making Amelia giggle. "I thought they were from you."  Lyle was still half-asleep. Even though she had tidied herself, her bed hair from the back is still obvious.  "You only woke up now?" Lyle nods and facepalms her face off of the sleepiness.  "Yeah, didn't know I needed rest that much. To think it's already noon." Lyle groans and wipes her eyes using her own fingers in circular motion. "You and your members needed rest, and food."  "Food?" Lyle asks. "Yep. You guys seem to have lost weight." Amelia pats the space next to her.  Lyle lifts herself from leaning on the wall and made her way to Amelia's side. Lyle decided to lay her head on Amelia's lap and closes her eyes.  "We did? I didn't notice."  "That's because you're either too busy or that you didn't notice because it's your own body."  "Mhm, probably both." Amelia plays with Lyle's hair, soothing Lyle's mind.  "You still want to sleep?"  "I want to but I want to eat. I don't want to lose face when my girl is so beautiful." Lyle can't see because she has her eyes closed but that made Amelia smile and flustered.  Lyle sometimes blurts out something that Amelia didn't know she needed to hear. But that was what it made it great to hear. How spontaneous and how direct it was with no intentions of making Amelia happy. That was how spontaneous Lyle is. She doesn't plan it, she just does it.  "Want to grab late lunch with me?"  "You waited for me?" Lyle opens her eyes and was met with electric like blue ones, so bright and vibrant.  Amelia looked glowing to Lyle. It was making her stand out more. Lyle reaches out to Amelia's cheek and caresses them softly, as if afraid that she might break Amelia with her rough hands.  "I called and texted. I thought something had happened." a hint of worry was evident in Amelia's voice.  "Sorry, I was knocked out hard." Amelia giggles.  "It's fine. I'm glad you finally rested."  "Yeah. Should we go eat now?"  "Yes,"  Amelia waits while Lyle tidies up completely, including a hot bath and new fresh clothes. It was winter to a dashing coat would suffice. The both of them make their way to the city below the school. They walk, keeping their distance to each other.  "Where should we go eat?"  "Pancakes? Uh, rice?" Amelia giggles.  "You want to eat heavy now?"  "Yep," Lyle says, popping the 'p'. "Because I told you you're skinny?"  But Lyle wasn't skinny. Her muscles were more defined now that she's skinny.  "That too but because I'm hungry. I didn't get to eat yesterday night."  "Wow, you are so tired." Lyle nods and hums. "But I can eat where you want to eat." Lyle didn't forget how to be a gentlewoman.  Lyle can't believe Amelia was the one who asked for time when it should be her. Now all she can do is be the kind of date that no one can forget.  "I know a pancake house that sells other foods too, in case you want both pancake and rice." Lyle nods aggressively, like a little kid, asked if the kid wanted a candy.  Amelia laughs at how cute Lyle was being. Lyle was just too hungry to even think about the price. Since it was Amelia who suggested, it sure would be a little pricey, if not too pricey.  "Just wait for a moment while I ask Michelle for directions."  "Alright," Lyle says and Amelia walks away, dialing Michelle's number.  While Amelia is away, girls started swarming to Lyle's area. She was surrounded by four girls, all of them asking for a picture and a number.  "You're so handsome, can I take a picture?"  "Are you a model? You're so handsome."  "Wow, I already see how hard your body is."  "So handsome, so dreamy." Lyle can't understand the third one's compliment when she's wearing such thick coating and they keep on saying the word handsome when she's a woman.  "Sorry but I have a girlfriend," Lyle politely tells them, not wanting to offend them.  If they were here, then that meant that the girls had money and has a powerful family. No poor person can afford to buy even a juice in the city. That was how expensive the city sells. "You're lying." "We don't see her anywhere." "I don't see her." "We won't trouble you if you just give us your number." The girls were persistent, much to Lyle's dismay. Lyle thought of a way to tell them off again when her arm was suddenly yanked. Lyle was pulled away from the girls with so much force that she stumbles back many steps back. She turns her head and sees a cold and menacing Amelia.  Girls that are jealous are so strong. Lyle thought to herself, shivering at the scary Amelia. "She's with me." the girls mumbles under their breaths before walking away with nothing.  "Phew," Lyle says. "Why are you a magnet everywhere we go?" Lyle looks around. "I could say the same to you." Lyle points to the men surrounding them, gawking at Amelia.  "At least they're keeping their distance." Amelia reasons out. "It's not my fault." Lyle says and hugs Amelia from behind, making Amelia cool down.  "It's not my fault too."  The two of them, now aware that the predators are not going to just stop at staring, now hold hands, letting the world know that they're taken by the other. It was a fulfilled moment. They walk hand in hand inside the place that Amelia recommended but was met with a working Chrelia, by the cashier. Amelia's smile was replaced with a blank one. "Fancy seeing you here."  Amelia feels that Chrelia was doing this on purpose. The truth was, Chrelia was working there for quite some time now, when Bryce had told System to stop following Chrelia. Chrelia doesn't have a source of living now so she had to work part time.  "Can we take your baby back ribs, two large pancakes, make it four, once iced coffee," Amelia says like she was rapping. "Is that all?" Chrelia asks in a friendly manner.  "I'd like an ice cream, please." Lyle answers.  "Got it. That will be-" Amelia didn't let Chrelia stop her words and just handed Chrelia her credit card. Chrelia grabs Amelia's car, not affected at all.  "Got it. Your order will be served after five minutes." Amelia walks away and finds a seat. Lyle looks at Amelia before thanking Chrelia and following Amelia.  Lyle catches up and Amelia finds a table, away from the cashier. Lyle pulls the seat for Amelia which Amelia said thank you to, then Lyle takes a seat opposite of Amelia.  "You know we can order somewhere else, right?" Lyle asks in concern.  "I want to see how this goes."  "Alright, then."  Lyle wasn't minding the situation enough because she was really hungry. Her stomach has been acting up since she woke up, growling in anger, hungrily. She was thankful that Amelia doesn't hear it.  The food comes and after everything was settled, the waiter walks away with a smile.  "Hmph," Amelia was upset that it wasn't Chrelia that gave them their orders, since she was at the cashier.  "You should eat first," Lyle forks out a part of the baby back ribs and gave it to Amelia. Amelia eats what Lyle feeds her and instantly smiles.  Amelia happily chews the food.  "This is also why I didn't want to go somewhere else."
