"You hid it here?" Evalynn crouched down and poked her head into a thicket of rose brambles, making sure the hem of her skirt didn't touch the ground, less out of necessity and more out of habit. Unlike the manor garden, these were wild rose brambles that grew near the edge of a patch of trees on the estate. She had initially thought the treeline was the start of a forest, but Quinn had been quick to correct her, saying that the trees only went back several hundred feet before opening up into a field of wildflowers. "I've got it! Just one seco- ow!" Quinn whined out of sight. Evalynn couldn't see the girl, but she could tell by the rustling and grunting that Quinn had gotten herself caught on something.
