It's been 7 years now. It's f*****g 7 years now, and she's nowhere to be found," she said, her anger palpable. Davis's mother held his shoulder, her grip firm. "I'm doing this for you, for me, for everyone, and most importantly, for the company," she said, her voice laced with desperation. "Sophia is a great match. She's not just any girl; she's our type, and our families are very close." But Davis was unmoved. He picked up his things and walked out of the room, leaving his mother to mutter under her breath, "Even though you're gone, you're still stuck in his head." *****"******"****** At Tiara's apartment, Miguel excitedly asked his mother, "Mom, guess what happened in school today?" Tiara smiled and replied, "You won another award?" Miguel laughed and shook his head. "No, try again. What else do you want me to say? Mmm... okay, Lyra's mom gave you cookies?" he teased, chuckling harder. Tiara playfully warned him, "Don't laugh so hard, you'll choke," as they sat down to dinner. Mrs. Green had already gone home for the day. After taking a sip of water, Miguel's expression turned serious. "Lyra got into a fight," he said, and Tiara's curiosity was piqued. "Why?" she asked, her brow furrowed with concern. Miguel's response made her drop her fork. "It's because of me," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. Tiara's eyes widened, and she leaned in, interested. "Tell me more, what happened?" she asked. Miguel took a deep breath before continuing. "You know Liam, the bully?" he asked, and Tiara's frown deepened. "What did he do this time?" she asked, her tone firm. Miguel's words made her heart sink. "He called me a bastard, said my dad is a runaway, and he threw my snacks and everything in my lunch bag and backpack." Tiara's expression turned stern. "I need to speak with both Lyra and Liam's parents," she said, her voice firm. "Liam's behavior is totally uncalled for." She shook her head, still trying to process what Miguel had told her.
