Chased by the King Alpha himself

“SAGE VINCENT!” moaning when I hear my mom yelling my name. “Get your ass up! You have a big day!” Smiling, my mom was right, today is a big day for me. Today I have to start the hunt for my mate. I’m 18 years old, and on top of that, I graduated from high school and college. Jumping out of my bed and rushing to my bathroom, I take care of my personal hygiene. After putting on a chopptop and a pair of shorts, I ran down to meet my mom in the kitchen. As soon as I walk in the kitchen, my mom and dad yell. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” *Can you please keep the noise down?* My wolf's Moonlight wipers. She is not much of a morning wolf. Rolling my eyes at her, I sat down at the table. “We got you something, it’s not much, but it's something!” Jumping up and down, I grabbed the little box out of my mom's hands, “What is it?” Smiling up at my mom and dad, they just shook their heads, “Open it.” Pulling the string and paper off the little box, I started to think it was maybe that ring I wanted last year. That I just told them about 3 days ago. But before I could pull the lid off the box, my dad pulled it away from me. Looking up, frowning, “Hey..” I cried out. “What’s the number one rule in this house, Sage?” my dad asked. Rolling my eyes, I got up and walked over to the fridge and pulled out some eggs and bacon. “The first rule of the house is, after you take your shower, you eat breakfast.” Rolling my eyes again, “Would y'all like to have some with me?” They shook their heads and waited patiently for me to cook my breakfast. After cooking and eating my breakfast as fast as I could, I looked up at my mom and dad with a little puppy dog smile, “Now may I have my present?” Sliding the box over to me, I pull the top off and my mouth drops to the floor. “NO WAY!” I yell. Looking up at my mom and dad trying not to cry and laughing, “You got me a car?” Jumping out of my set as fast as I can, “It’s already for you!” they yell out as I ran out the front door. I come to a complete stop when my eyes land on a yellow BMW. “They only had yellow. I’m sorry it’s not the color you would like.” “I love yellow, I love all the colors, I'm not picky. I love it!” “It's a 2024 BMW M4 Space, with black leather seats. Touchscreen and voice-activated radio. And so much more.” I’m smiling ear to ear, “I can’t wait to take her to school and show all my friends!” And so I did. I drove my new car to school so I could get ready for graduation. After picking up Alex, she still had to go to school. She was a year younger than me. “You're so lucky, you've got a new car, and you're about to find your mate and graduate high school, and not just graduation, but you are the only one that is graduating from college on the same damn day.” She is right; I feel so lucky. I have a great life, two loving parents. True they are not my birth parents, but they wanted me as my birth parents did not. They gave me up when I was 3 hours old. They took one look at me and walked away. I was told when the doctor removed my mother from the hospital, they did not take me with them. Hell, they did not take anything with them, their bags, and I was left in their room. My mom I have now. She was a nurse at the free clinic my pack has. My mom said that they came in, looked really happy. My mother was smiling. My mom said she even saw my mother and father smiling after I was born. But no one knows what happened from the time I was born to the time they ran the hell away. When I was little, I would play like they were the lost King and Queen and got kidnapped when I was born, and I had to be raised by other people to hide my identity. Sometimes I would tell that to people when we had to go visit other packs to help in their clinics. Sometimes I think about how life would have been if they had kept me. But then I would have never known such loving and wonderful parents. “Earth to Sage” Alex yelled. Snapping my eyes back at her, “What?” I asked as I face planted a tree. “OOHH, you OK?” Looking over at Alex holding my nose, so I would not get blood on me, I could see she was trying not to laugh. “Let's go to the nurse,” she said as she grabbed my hand and pulled me to the school and into the nurses room. “Ms. Green, Sage did it again.” Alex cried out as I was sitting down. Looking over at the open door, I saw Nurse Green pop her head out and shake her head. “Sage, why are you still hurting yourself? You're 18 now, you should see where you are going.” I just gave her a sigh. :Where are you daydreaming again?” “Wh.. What..no..” I tried to say but got cut off when Ms. Green pulled my hand away from my face. Looking at my right-hand full of blood, I shook my head yes, “I was daydreaming again.” She smiled, “Thanks Alexander, I got it from here. Get to class.” She nods and turns to leave, “Oh, Sage, I’ll be there today to see you.” I gave her my best smile I could. “Sage?” Ms. Green asked. I looked up, but she is not looking at me, she is looking at my face, making sure I did not do that much damage. “Yes, Ms. Green?” “What is wrong? I can see there is something wrong.” Looking away, because there was not holding anything from Ms.Green/ “I’m scared, I’m scared that I will not find my mate, and I’ll be mateless and no one will love me for who I am.” Glancing back at her, she has a little smile on her face. “Sage, life is about personal growth, and contributing to something larger than ourselves. Life is about finding meaning. Life is about having fun. And you are about to start your life in 3 hours. So, stop being scared, and if you don’t find your mate then you won’t find him. That just means the moongoddess thinks you are perfect just the way you are.” “What if I do find my mate?” If the moongoddess thinks you are perfect without your mate, does that mean..my thoughts were cut off when Ms. Green said,“ Then you can have positive experiences to come. Love, be happy, live your life Sage, and keep moving until you can’t move no more, and just know if you can’t move, you can. There is always room to move.” With that, she gets up and walks away leaving me sitting there thinking. It was time, time for me to start my life, I could skip college, and go right to work. I’m still going to try and be a software professional at Zimmeman. I put my application in Zimmemans about a week ago. I got the go-ahead from school who reached out to Zimmemans and told the CEO himself, and got the green light on putting in my application because I was about to be 18 and graduating from school and college. Sitting in the back row watching all the other students walking up and getting their diploma I had to go last, not because my last name started with a V but of what I was getting today. *This is taken forever* Alex mindliked me. Smiling,"You be fine, hey by the way did they cut the grass today before this started?" I asked *I’m sure they did, they wanted everything to be perfect for today.* She said with a yawn. The grass does look like it was just cut but there is another smell mixed with it, I can’t put my finger on it. Cut grass and rain. That is the other smell. Looking around, seeing it was raining today when I felt a finger tapping my shoulder, looking up I see one of the students waiting on me to get up so she can move around me. Sliding over so she can walk past, I keep my eyes on the ground. *What are you doing?* Alex asked. *You look like you lost something.* Shaking my head, I hear my name being called. WOW, that was a little fast. Standing up I keep my eyes on the professor. “We have a very special diploma for a very special remarkable young lady. Sage Vincent, who is receiving not just her diploma from high school but her diploma for college. She worked night and day on school work and her Bachelor’s degree in engineering.” As I was shaking the professor's hand I heard Moonlight yell out MATE! Looking around, I see only one person, Nox Newton, Alpha Newton's only son and he is looking right back at me smiling. Smiling at me like he loved me all his life.
